Sod plays way more fluently, also have more custom stuff, also takes more skill and u can progress there, and the class balance is waaaay better, boomkin is actually playable there
i hope we get next year classic+ or sod fresh

Next year weāll get something even better - TBC.
lmfao, sod
All about perspective.
I cannot touch SoD from the distance with a 4 meter long stick. But I get where you are coming from.
I wish we had Era zero changes and a continuous parallel OG Vanilla Fresh server cycle going every two years, with transferable chars into Era.
This however will not happen. Instead, we have GDKP-AV Meta-Chrononoon-Era, SoD, Anniversary and Cata concurrent servers. Funky mix at best, but well, I rather have this than going back to pservers!
we are all in the TBC/Wotlk waiting room.
I respectfully disagree.
I felt SoD being faster and easier compared to Classic, due to the new abilities adding power creep.
I dropped it specifically for that reason, didnāt enjoy the dungeon rush.
Having fun now in Anniversary.
For some, itās cool to play newer talents-builds-abilities with old content, while for others, the ideal Classic+ would be playing retail with some old build. My personal dream is all of us playing together, having a choice per character, which may be difficult to implement - and balance. Like how I like Classic druid but WLK prot pally. And I see how the newer builds bring a higher pace, a Classic druid with its 5s rule would not be viable in Mythic+.
Agreed, sod did something that i disliked which is the complete removal of the base āfeelā of vanilla.
Way too many things were added, way too many.
My ideal classic+ wouldāve been the base version of vanilla with some talent tweaks for classes ( some more than others), some coefficiency changes to the āmeme specsā and maybe 1-2 new abilities for the few classes that needed them ( paladins taunt etc).
The 1-60 leveling journey would be unchanged but all the new raids and stuff would come at 60 after p6.
So itās basically vanilla till p6 but instead of tbc new stuff is added and classes are tweaked, thatās basically what classic+ is to me.
Only thing Iād add are the FPās in Raven Hill and the Rebel Camp. There is a special place in hell for the developer that came up with those zones before you have access to a mount.
Having to fly to Westfall to get anywhere near northern SV is a total joke.
these āsmallā changes people keep asking for, that they think wonāt affect the game, actually do. duskwood>rebel camp for example is a great place for wpvp.
class changes are just⦠plz donāt put any faith in blizzard when it comes to balancing. iām already perfectly happy with how the game plays even if mages and rogues t3 is absolutely busted.
they couldnāt balance sod and they CANāT balance retail, thats why one week something is insanely op and then the next itās dog water.
they certainly canāt discern the nuances of a game like vanilla where everything is so finely calibrated to have classes/specs serve specific functions.
I didnāt post last week but I made an essay aboutā¦
My ideal Classic leveling world is the BC leveling world - extra quests, new races, additional hubs, etc.
Talents aside I might as well just ask for skipping Classic but gating at 60 is practical hence I prefer 1.x talents. (Like in Cata my level 80 tank has no run speed. Again.)
THIS. My ideal classic experience would basically be TBC prepatch that is 2 years long and where raids and dungeons unlock gradually. Can you imagine that? 2.0 is literally a straight upgrade to vanilla world without and negatives to it in my personal opinion.
That being said, I really, really enjoyed Mage healing in SoD, it felt perfectly in line with the arcane tree philosophy and was actually fun. Too bad the raids were so unfun, I just quit at 50 because ST was so bad I didnāt want to log even if I mechanically loved healing it.
I really hope they take some combination of good SoD ideas + TBC old world together to make classic+ in a couple of years.
The problem with SoD is that there is nothing new, we end up with skills from other WoW expansions in Classic, revisited raids, an XP boost and thatās it more or less .
They should have gone further to completely review the classes and their 3 different talents tree, giving a new utility and identity to each. And even letās be crazy, review the Classic quests to make the leveling experience more pleasant and fluid, with real rewards, a useful crafting system even at low levels, etc. etc.
In short, put in the means for a WoW Classic 2.0⦠But Blizzard has become lazy and incompetent, it is sitting on a gold mine without exploiting it.
I wanted new races and class combinations.
@OP
Hahahaha

We have two different ideas of what classic+ should be.
Itās hard to explain the vanilla spirit , in short itās the base philosophy behind how the game was designed, altering that is basically no longer vanilla but a retail reinvention set in classic, basically classic timewalking.
But many players donāt know the difference between these two since they havenāt played or fell for the original worldās unique magical elements. The last thing we want is to have another round of SoD, which were crazy changes that a lot of players ignorantly hoped for , not knowing where it will eventually lead to.
