Regardless of the “deservedness” of the silence, I do think that a silence-system based on volume of reports is garbage and shouldn’t exist.
If that still exists, of course.

I’ve yet to be silenced. What on earth was he doing? WTS boosting every few seconds? There’s spamming, then there’s SPAMMING, and I refuse to believe that he wasn’t a massive spammer. You just don’t get that kinda punishment for one or two nonsense comments.

He will never learn from his mistake, otherwise he would have learned on the second complaint.
I also got muted for saying NOTHING, yes you read right,if people dont like you,they gang up on you with fake reports and guess what, opening ticket didnt help.
i have to report this for the same reason ableism in ac valhalla is happening!
but i can understand now why your friend was banned and you dont see why :*D

‘‘All I do?’’ besides that one comment where it’s barely an insult, where was I ever insulting people? My response was a counter to his dull response.
If he got silenced for that long, he clearly spammed repeatedly for a very long time with a complete disregard for consequences, so i’d say the silence was earned. He should have learned from past mistakes.

As I stated above, its not something that happened in 1 month. These are a bunch of silences that have been stacking up for years, and many other players have the same problem. The report system can be abused and Asmongold proved it.
But it still doesn’t change the fact he continuously spammed though. Perhaps stacking silences for years is an oversight from Blizzard, but still, people need to learn from past mistakes.

Sure, it was you wasn’t it? That whole ‘leave all mounts’ thing was telling. 
It wasn’t continues spamming. He plays this game 6 hours a day for 10 years, the silences stack up over time when you play the game A LOT. Would you say its unreasonable for Blizzard to offer clean slates every 3 years?
Honestly it would be fine to offer it once like 6 months or so, perhaps even less. When there are many people trying to sell things, spam is quite disrupting, but the punishment could definitely be a lot smaller, it’s not such a big deal anyway.

they don’t have to entirely give a clean slate, but just reduce the punishment pyramid. The issue is that they don’t reward good behavior over time, they just keep stacking those warnings on your account. It’s a bad system.
