Hello!
I am a level 15 hunter and I tamed Gorefang that is an elite worg in silverpine forest.
I tamed it because of the furious howl ability but I don’t have it and I don’t know why.
If anyone know pls tell me.
Thanks!

Because it doesn’t have furious howl, you need to tame a worg = named creature ‘worg’ and learn it from him. They are all around the border between tiris fall and silverpine.
Some pets have abilities when you tame them, some don’t.
To teach them you need to find a pet with that ability, tame it, use it enough that you learn it yourself (spellbook -> general -> beast training), then you can teach this skill to other pets of the same class.
Unless you really like wolves, I wouldn’t recommend taming one, they are only viable in raids and dungeons. An owl, boar, cat or wind serpent are all solid choices for levelling, depending on which style suits you more.
Personally I’d rather get the rake due to it’s fast attack speed.
You may also need to get some loyalty to them pets before their abilities show up
Huh? No, they show up right away.
You usually need to kill 5-10 mobs before you learn a skill to give to your normal pet.
I know, but thats not what I was talking about. When you tame a pet, the skills it has are shown right away. And to learn teaching it to other pets, you need to use the ability enough times.
Either way it has nothing to do with loyalty which only gives your pet more training points and makes it keep a good mood longer.
I didn’t even mention loyalty because it’s a non issue.
Then Im confused why you replied to me in the first place.
Mainly because you said the skills show up straight away.
They do. You tame a blackrock worg, it has dash right away.
Most people tame a new pet to get the skill to use on their main pet.
Make use of your beast lore spell before taming. Not all of one pet type will have that pet ability. For instance not all bears will have a rank of bite. The mouseover of the beast when you use the spell will tell you what it eats and what attacks etc it has. For me I’ve always found it best to get any new pet to green on loyalty as it seems to teach you its abilities more quickly. Don’t forget to check the food types in advance rather than travelling far from a food vendor and finding out you don’t have any of the correct food on you.

Yep. I use a cat but tamed a scorpid to learn dash then abandoned it. Same with gaining higher ranks of spells already learned.
You dont have that spell with lvl 15, you get that with 24 if i am not wrong.
Gotta love a game where you need a scorpion to teach your cat to run faster.
Yeah it’s a lvl24 spell, but once you have it, use it. As above, Petopia is brilliant for anything to do with pets so worth looking up on it what gives the ability you’re after and see if there are beasts of your level that do. After that it’s a case of finding which ones give the higher rankings of that abilty as you and your pet level up.
