Future Ideas for the next Seasonal release of WoW Classic

I wasn´t aware of any such survey, the only survey im aware of is the one they did for tbc. nobody i know know anything about a SoM survey. And if it existed they hid it very well for the bigger public cuz i´ve always tried to stay up to date about classic and so how would i have missed it. everyone i´ve talked to have seen nothing and if you try to google after it nothing shows. Also have a very hard time believing any majority of players would have wished a one year classic. So… Why are you lying?

And i think you are wrong, i have few friends who played vanilla so most of us arent playing for nostalgia. I have one friend who leveled with me all the way to 60 and quit when he realised how the classic R14 system works. He liked pvp and so he left since that part of the game just suck. what works is what keeps people playing the game.

Please don’t call me a liar when you could’ve simply have asked me to provide a source for the exsistance of the survey (classicwowheadcom/news/new-blizzard-survey-classic-fresh-classic-updates-and-phase-cadence-323044) can’t link links, add dots where appropriate).

Your friend is a moot example, though it does suck he didn’t enjoy the game. When a part of a game doesn’t appeal to a person that doesn’t necessarily mean that the game or its systems are at fault. Not every part of a game should appeal to everyone, that would result in every game just being a watered down call of duty clone. You don’t NEED to achieve rank 14 to enjoy pvp, i enjoy it quite a bit and i don’t care about ranking, i just pvp for F U N.

I love Classic WoW. I love NoChanges. I do not do any PvP at all.
The only sure-fire solutions is a NoChanges approach as one thing is certain: changes lead to more changes. Changes to repair, changes to stop unforeseen side effects, changes to improve (or not). In short changes is a snowball effect.

I guess im sorry. I missjudged you. However, it didnt mention a one year plan. and it went out to random people? My wonder then is how many.

That’s no problem, dw about it <3
it asks for how long the classic should last on the second image, where the options were 6 month, 12 month, and “original” like we had in no changes.

and yeah just to adress the random part, if the survey was public a person could very easily rally supporters for his or her side and give false results. if it was public then hell, i would have done that, i woulda argued for no changes and spammed the survey in all circles that might be skeptical of changes in order to try and skew the results my way.

im not sure how many got the survey, but aslong as it’s over like, honestly 1000, it should be pretty representative. sadly, the community thought they wanted something, but they were wrong. Eiteher that or the survey was filled out by a lot of people that didn’t actually care for the game.

Defenitly implement changes including factionbalance on servers/classes in bgs. It’s unreal how much warrior/mage-stacking is going on.

Yep, this 100%.

I hope they’ll never release another Season of Mastery again.

No layers, international big servers, anti cheating ofc. And faction ratio displayed publicly. WPVP heaven thx^^
Quit playing I was playing on Dreadnaught Ally side, 2 months in there was some difficulty finding opponents in open world because of layers + ally being the majority faction (about 60% perhaps) while this wasn’t displayed anywhere (so players couldnt properly pick faction according to that to begin with). So I rerolled horde and played for a few weeks expecting more wpvp but then loss of the preparation and other games to play led me to… wait for next server eh^^ need no layers, international big pop, faction ratio known.

I support private servers as to date the most amazing realms I have seen were definitely a few private servers, totally unmatched (Nostalrius, Elysium, Northdale) despite not being even perfect. Well Northdale almost was, just a lupos problem mostly (increased spawn of lupos led to every hunter sporting a lupos at about any level and lupos was rather OP^^ that wasn’t a big problem but def worth mentioning i think). But yeah picture a 8K+ population 24/24 7/7 with no layers, balanced factions and international community, you can login at any time of the day go around meet players everywhere and anywhere and engage freely amazing.

Future ideas for season of mastery:

  • add world buffs and make 9800 playerbase into 500.000
  • stop reading reddit posts
  • stop listening to people that have playtime of 3h

On reddit people that stopped playing can post, on wow forums they can’t. There is no reason to make a Fresh realm that will be interesting only for Era players and that will just divide and kill what population is showing up on Era.

Most players will go to WoTLK and when that settles they may look for something different. Third re-release won’t be nowhere near as popular as the first re-release and we already know how broken players may make it which for me makes it bit pointless - why put the effort when everything soon thereafter is obsoleted by stupid things the games allows to.

Also worth checking:

https://www.reddit.com/r/classicwow/comments/t8az4b/next_vanilla_classic_season_what_would_make_you/

Most players there wants rebalancing, normal timeline and all cheese-blockers from SoM + more of them so that so the game isn’t broken by players and bots instantly.

I wouldn’t be surprised if next Season was based on TBC talents and systems.

Let’s have a Season of Professions.
add several new patterns recipes etc.

  • Tailoring: Add capes, hats and cloaks in the missing colourways. Many armoursets do not have a fitting cloak.
  • Cooking: add more like Savory Deviate Delight fun and surprising recipes.

Lower level limitations for crafting and especially accessing the things. It always buggered me that you had to be level 50 to get festival dresses - and only level 35 to learn it.

Why not allow WBs AND add in health/dmg/mechanic buffs to bosses. Imagine how beautifully toxic that would be.

Classic in its purest form

better mechanics for bossfights increase health alone is just boring and lazy game design tbh

no changes better
