Future of WoW - Add AI - add dynamics - Remove levels - Remove itemlevels

First off i would like to give a big thanks to Blizzard for making a great Game.
Let me also say im not english and therefore have alot of bad spelling  but aslong as you can understand it.

Ive been around since a year after it first released i think. Cant really remember anymore but around then.
Back then WoW was a new kind of MMO  the graphics was new and exciting. The way to interact with the game was new and felt fun.
Back then Wow was a new kind of game.

Back then i came from another MMO called Anarchy-online which was a futuristic MMO. In this game people needed to get together
to get a chance for highend rewards and to have fun. Doing big raids in the world.
MMO back then had high Social aspects - doing guild raids/pvp and do 4-10 hours of camping for rare spawns and have
your entire guild come and kill it to get a chance for an “awsome” reward.
Wow had that back then aswell.

Back then people relied on eachother for the “Fun and rewarding” aspects of the game. Back then people knew other people on the server and other guilds.
Back then there was no Realm jumping/phasing/Battleground realms phasing. It was just an individual server with BG´s for the server population.
People got to know eachother also out from the guilds and from the opposite faction. If you wanted to get something you had to team up with people on the server.
Back then a friend list was long
I even remember getting together with people from the server to attack the opposite faction. Dont mind the guards. Dont mind the gear. scrw the levels. People from level 10-60 came together.
For an awsome experience. The whole server lagged and people got DC cause their computers couldn´t handle the animations.
That was fun. Back then.

It was another game back then and Wow has since then evolved to a point where people get flooded with rewards.
And the way you interact with the game has changed alot.
You can solo World quest for awsome rewards.
You can randomly join Dungeons/raids/pvp/groups for rewards. And give a rotten egg about anyone.

Its not a bad thing. It is nice to log in for 30 mins and get flooded with rewards. It gets you a tick… For a short period of time.
But thats it. The game feels like its a quick fix today.

In todays WoW i feel like i dont need to play with other people to get some Above Average rewards / Epic rewards/my (quick) fix.
If i feel like going hardcore it doesnt matter to me anymore cause in a couple months all the effort will be replaced by Raidfinder gear

People can argue as they like but doesnt matter cause in the end it is “just a game” - The experience thou. This is what lags today imo.

Getting wow classic is a good idear but tbh. Not a great idear. Ive been there and ive had the experiences and i remember
all the annoying things. You guys have fun there

Today - This is what matters

-The progession people have had throughout all the expansions matter.
-New players matter.
-The way you interact with the game matters - The experience.

So WHAT DOES WoW needs imo?

-WoW needs a smart AI world that can progress as it like bit by contributing to tjener Lore og Wow. (All creatures and Individual characters)
-WoW needs game masters that can interact with the players and the game. Make more events.
-Wow needs dynamics.

Yes. imagine this - One day a gamemaster decides Sylvanas and all the forsaken schould attacks Ironforge and the world which is in contact with this “scenario” change accordingly to that. By following the Lore and contributing to the player experience.
People on the server that sees it starts to mobilize. Guilds become legions. Nothing is prepared in a raid calender.
Spontanous action - A great experience.
Undercity dispatch legions of undead and zombies. Not in one big ball but in a long snake. Not in a scenario but in the actually “world”
The forsaken have roads/airboats/boats to travel on. Horses, wagons, on feet, running, crawling, siege engines, weapons
, you name it. They come and you can follow them exactly from Undercity and until they are at the gates of Ironforge. You can participate in
the destruction of outposts.
Dwarfs riding from an outpost to tell the king at Ironforge the undead´s is on the way. But you got chances to kill them so the king will be
unprepared. Alliance characters sees it and can ride towards Ironforge and tell the king them self. People that playes alliance can quickly start
to mobilize a defend and build siege engines, walls, traps to help in the defend.

Seing outposts actually being layed to waste by battle and guards not randomly respawning. Seing how the remote area gets changed aswell.
Buildings destroyed. Burning fields. Dead corpses - you get the idear.

When the raid is on and has ended the game-masters will be the storytellers of the game and not prescripted. Imagine a game master
getting tools to redo a buildup of “new Ironforge”. Redisigning from scratch. Combined with smart AI that can build up (going from mines to forges/building area´s.
Building, Milling, working in the fields, hunting, “the list goes on”.)

Yes. - imagine this. You get a quest to kill murlocs. You kill an entire camp. These fckers dont respawn cause they are now dead!
Ahh the relief it gives to help a poor girl out that lost her tiny toy bear in a murloc camp! Burn it down while you are at it.
Make sure no murloc´s gets near this girls toy bear again. Place some sticks with murlock heads… Ah ok maybe too far  on the last part.

Yes. - imagine this. You are helping out the scarlet crusade! You are now able via their faction leader to regain/take territory and build
up a clean scarlet society. The smart AI works around what you do. Encampments, villages, mines, herbing, field, building you name it.
The fantasy is your limitation! The more dynamics that is added the more the game will feel alive.
The stronger the experience will be.

But what about gear??

Well  this is what is on today

-replaced gear every 3 months or so with loads of numbers/iLvL´s

This is what MMO´s have had always - Progression in numbers.

Lets add something new?

- Lets keep it simple?

Old head piece from vanilla -> +20% PVE-damage/+5% PVP-damage/+5%HP

New head piece from BFA -> +26% PVE-damage/+7% PVP-damage/+10%HP

Forget all the numbers.
Change the goals for the game so the experience is not so much the gear but the interaction.
This is what imo people will remember and have fun with.

Add some cool transmogs in new expansion that people can aim for.
(Rewards for participating in example the raid against undercity)
Add content that is fun and gets remembered and feels unique.

Remove LEVELS!

Once and for all remove levels and focus on talents that you can unlock while interaction with the world.
Kill 100 murlocks with a 2H sword and get a perk that when you swing at a murloc but now you can hit 3 at the same time cause you now have the experience to Kill those fishyheads.

Kill 100 alliance players with a daggert and earn a +2% damage buff when killing alliances with a daggert!

Kill 500 alliance players with a daggert and get a chance to double backstab with a daggert!

Hope you get the idear.

WoW does imo needs to change the way it want players to interact with it.

Forget gear
Forget levels

Add spontanous to WoW - forget the raid calender - Get in AND get READY for anything! Team up with guildies and get that little toy bear!-
Who knows what the gamemasters have cooked since yesterday! Who knows where a small murloc force have gathered to kill spiders!
Go and explore the world cause its never the same!

Smart AI fighting eachother - over continents-worlds-fields-villages-roads keep the fantasy going cause this game lacks Fantasy and Dreams!

Thank you for reading

Cause they reached their limit. I am thanking Blizz for have made a great MMO.
Which i still think it is by comparing it to other mmo games. But imo the future of wow needs to change  hope u understand what i mean by reading the entire post?

You should go and find another game, the best MMOs follow a similar layout for one good reason. It works and people like it.

I read your entire post and it makes no sense.

Thank you for your comment but just clarify what that doesnt make sense to you?

Also id like to add that i play other various games  also MMO games. This is not the topic though.
WoW has falling subs cause the experience feels the same imo. just with new pixels. Just like the previous expansions felt like ^^ there is only minor improvements made to the game. I still need my WoW fix. This is why i still play WoW

Other MMO´s copy WoW cause WoW is a sure bet gamewise and is the base of what a MMO is today - atleast once it did  adding new content but with new pixels keeps the game interesting for a short amount of time

But the topic is the Experience factor of the game and how it evolves.

Removal of levels, GMs making game decisions, A world without lore, a dynamic world, the classic weapon learning system, your gear system.

All these are a step backward or not viable in a multiplayer world.

-Removal or level squish will come in time its just when.
-GM´s making game decitions is what gets a Fantasy world going.

  • Lore is still there it´s just evolving.
  • The talent tree from classic is not what i am seeking to implent  i did the leveling on weapons/staves/daggers/bows etc.
  • Add individual talents according to your play style and let your character evolve

It sounds very much like it, you do something enough times you get a benefit from it on that weapon.

Its called evolving?
Currently today u got class specific talents which all have. Most of the talents is not used.
So why not add talents that strength your specific playstyle according to the enviremont you engage in ^^

I’m trying to figure out where you got that from and I just did, FPS games.

Lets clarify 1 thing
Perks/talents came from MMO´s not FPS games.

What perks/talents you see in FPS games today is inspired from MMO games.

I’ve played FPS games since the 80s and they have had these types of things in them, even then. Better weapons and skill points.

I did play CS/Doom/Duke Nukem/Wolfenstein
Those are the FPS games i remember from the 90´s. None of those had talents or perks

But which FPS game was that? must have been a unique experience on a Commandore 64?

Anyways the topic is the future and not what it is now or the past  again thankyou for your inputs

Go play GW2 instead.

Thankyou for your comment Shumensko. But why do i want to play Guild wars 2 in your opinion? does it have everything that i talk about? If so im leaving on a jetplane and going to try it out ^^ thx

Not sure about its current design, but when it launched it was pretty similar to what you want(except that it had leveling, but it wasn’t so important).

Again it is Just SO much better to write what you dislike and what it makes you feel and how u feel the game is to you today
Thankyou for your very short input/reply
