Blizzard has changed the source for the G.M.O.D mount drop for Looking for Raid. Instead of dropping from High Tinker Mekkatorque it will now drop from Lady Jaina Proudmoore on Raid Finder difficulty instead.
As if forcing people to do LFR to get runes wasnt enough, now you’re supposed to do 2 extra bosses you dont need :))

If it means half the raid won’t drop out after the first boss of the wing then I think it is a great move.
You will have to “carry the casuals” until the end instead of dropping out after the first boss or if you are joining after the first boss is down.
I always liked Jaina so yesterday she was kind enough to return the favour and give me GMOD mount.
Anyhow that was great change, so people wont leave after first boss dead or join raid with first boss already dead.
Not going to clap my hands at this change, but I can see the reasoning.

ah come on, its hysterical seeing all the gits leaving after not getting the drop off the first boss, logging an alt and joining another raid only to see the same people again leaving after the first boss … when I worked out what they were doing, I laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed. Most laughing ive done in wow for years.

O hand by the way, you aren’t “carrying” anyone in lfr, that’s just your pathetic elitism colouring your perception of life. They are carrying you on your hunt for the mount.

This was a good move on Blizzard’s part.
Well it means everyone who queues for LFR will actually be able to do it now instead of seeing the entire raid ditch after Mekkatorque.
Having it as a drop on LFR is already a joke

This was a smart move on their part. Huge numbers of LFRs suffer with people leaving after their mount farm boss is dead. So they were clever and made people complete the full wing.
You are less likely to end up joining a group for that wing after Mekka is dead, so you wont have to run it twice.
Clever stuff IMO.
Ppl now: Smart move blizz, its good that ppl dont leave after first boss, since they now need to be there till the end to get a chance for said mount.
Ppl in 2-3 years: WTF blizz, i have to solo all boss in there to get a shot on the mount, please nerf it to drop from the gnome, just like on all other diff!
I somehow hope they atleast buff the drop chance for this, since we now have to kill 2 more boss to get a shot at it.
You can also say its a “good move”, since, say it dropped from first boss and you get into a group thats on 2 boss now (since someone just left), you will then be like “arrgh!” and wish to be kicked / playing bad till you get kicked / trying to wipe the group to get kicked out…so, atleast they fix’ed that problem with this.
So yeah, its “good” now, but, in the future (when ppl wanna solo it) they will say its bad, unless blizz nerf the drop from jaina down to the gnome again once that time hit.

Sorry, you are not forced to do anything. You are not forced to do lfr or get runes. You can buy them on the AH aswell.
Just dont do lfr if its such a problem. There are multiple other difficulties use those.
And for the guy who said he has to carry longer…wait, you think the only bad players are the mount farmers? I saw ppl running back to get frozen instead of hitting the wall on Jaina.
And i dont mind helping the lfr ppl anyway. Buut i will probably wont do lfr again now that i saw it once. Entertainment was good but its only fun one time.
How many mounts are there that don’t require you to complete the full raid to get the chance for them to drop? One or two with this mechanism isn’t too hard, plus by the time the raid is on solo farm most people will find it easier to do on normal mode anyway where it drops on Mekkatorque.

LFR should get removed out of the game completly. Dragon Soul LFR was fine tbh but everything after that should not have happened.
Really though, if you don’t want to do “unnecessary stuff”, then don’t.
Just farm the other difficulties for the mount if you don’t want to do LFR?

It was fine, because it was a fresh system. But it should have stopped after that, since it formed to a big mistake to raiding community and progressing.
I don’t see how it’s going to be bad later. Eventually we can solo or small group queue for LFR.
