Game has no respect for player time right now

No-one is suggesting gear is being freely given, if I have timed an 8, it’s quite reasoanble to want to try my luck at a 9.

Also I don’t think this has helped at all:

  • normal - I can sleep through this.
  • Heroic - I can sleep through this.
  • M0 - I can’t sleep through this and have to do some mechs? But not many.
  • M2 - what’s my rotation? There’s a timer now? Gotta do dps. I have to move out of swirlies?
  • M4 - fortified is one shotting me and tyran has given this boss way too much health so we ain’t gonna time, disband.
  • M6 - someone died on first pull, it’s not timeable, I’m out. Disband

I don’t understand why they didn’t bring in fort and tyran at m2 and waited until 4.

I do think that the gearing this season is terrible as it relates to progress, but for most people it’s the other way around, and I hate that.

I agree that “numbah go up” losers do contribute to MMOs and gearing could be changed for them. But we will always have people complaining that rewards are too easy or too hard to get, this season it’s people saying it’s too hard, nothing new under the sun, and I find all this whining very dumb.

Okay you can’t get past level 10, last season you couldn’t get past level 12, who cares? They only care because “MUH GEAR,” lol

Ok and whats stopping you from doing that +9? Am I standing in front of the key font and going full “you will NOT put that keystone here”.
And before you go “nobody invites me”. Pugging as solo DPS has been tough…especially if you are not meta. Been like this since BFA at least(probs since Legion as well but back in Legion didnt pay much attention to m+ scene so cant comment) so its not something unique to TWW S1.

You don’t need to be neither MDI-player nor RWF-player to time +10. Again just “BIG WORDS” that has nothing related to the actual reality.

If you time your key at 8 level… you know… you will get key at level 9 (or even more, up to 11) in your backpack :slightly_smiling_face:

so, why would anyone not feel entitled to it with current design. The game is designed around gear progression, it´s the main driving factor for most players. (and again, i say screw gear, get rid of all of it, make it skill only, but that train has left the station loong ago)
It´s also the main lever to slowly nerf content over time to make it more accessible to everyone. If you do not hand out the gear that part of the process does not work at all.

Noone (ok, except me) wants to log in to just receive full BIS gear at week 1 of the saison. What people want is a realistic path to aquire BIS within a saison that does not require tedious amounts of grinding, as again, players are 30+ now, they do work and have families.
And with the current system handing you only one Mythtrack a week it already takes 4months if you are beyond lucky to get BIS. So now that the first weeks this was already nto achievable for 98% of players make that 5months at best, but with the slow gearing and the hard wall it´ll not be achievable at all for said 98% now within the saison.
So they quit.

And you cannot blame the players for playing the game like it was designed from the get go and prioritizing the gearing process.

I well wish we never had gear and it was all about skill only, i really enjoy pushing keys above 10 whilst having the gear to do so. But that is a game for only a very few.

It’s designed around the principle that better players get better gear, not that if you grind enough you’ll eventually get the best gear. Some people feel entitled to the best gear so they come on here and whine. We see this every season.

Sometimes we see the opposite. People saying it’s too easy to get the best gear. Both sides are bad!

One way to effectively make it about skill only, is to balance the difficulty such that 10s are completable by people with reasonable skill (Perhaps people who are capable of getting curve) as then from 11+ it is about skill only, as everyone there will have farmed the gear they need.

classic wow really wants a stern word with you.

But isn’t it exactly how it has been before? Ok. My memory can be foggy a bit but I dont remember +15s, +20s giving mythic level stuff at the end of the dungeon chest and gearing up always relied on having a “lucky vault” …unless you mythic raid as well.

Times change

The difference is that if I completed a 23 under the old system, it made no difference to the drops, effectively above 20 it became a skill content, and below 20 it was a gearing grind, why was this wrong?

People outgeared it easily. We have folks complaining that they can’t time a 10 with 605 gear. Come back in 625+ and they will complain again that its too easy.

lol that is true.

How do you propose people get to 625, when most of them can’t run 10s, or mythic raid?

Is there some magic welfare epic I’m unaware of? People seem to think the game gives out free loot.

Nothing wrong with it, nothing right about it either. I literally don’t care because I don’t play for gear. I came here to say I think it’s a silly thing to complain about. I don’t complain because I can’t get my hands on Mythic Ansurek gear, that’s out of my league, happy to admit it

Maybe other players should just accept that they’re not good enough for mythic track this season, why is it so hard to accept?

not really, they moved the goalposts every saison, start of DF i´m sure we got gilded crests at 16 (now 6) and mythvault at 17 or 18, which meant there was much more forgiving path to gearing up and “nerfing” the next step on that path via gearing. So you had still a probably too lengthy gearing process, but with very linear difficulty.

Now you get to 619 and then you are still staring at a wall to maaybe do a 9, and if you manage that hurdle you are still an infinite grind away from mythtrack because 10 with the next affix is still a massive step up from there if you want to “nerf” anything via gearing.

They really have broken their own system, apparently not knowing how it worked (and why people retained playing during DF)

Edit: i know i played much much worse at the start of DF than i do now and it still felt more achievable to get at least some part of the journey done.

The irony is the people crying “free loot” had it their way before, with their exclusive club of skilled players who could complete above +20, while everyone else was happy saying “I’m not as good as those people, but I got my progression done”

You can easily get to 619 with spamming +7s(hero gear+crests) and a couple of +9s for some gilded crests to top off a bit.

Well at least thats how my rogue is at 617 currently. Done maybe 3-4x +10s with a lousy vault reward which I am not using atm. And 615+ is more than enough to time a +9 IF you at least have a basic idea on what to do(If you aim the purple ball on 2nd boss from Dawnbreaker to a wall next to you and goo boom… well not even 640 gear will help you there)

got my progression done

Yikes, you make it sound like a job… what is going on???
