Well if you are as good as you claim to be. Then the current situation shouldn’t not bother you at all no? Like I said, I agree that -15 sec affix is nuts but besides that. TIming +10 is doable in 616+ gear but you need to be aware of what to do and not expect to brute force through everything.
you need to run a lot of 9s to fully upgrade your hero gear, even if we assume anyone with ilvl 619 can do that (which is a ludicrous take), making it at best a terrible grind.
Why would anyone enjoy that?
playing the game should be fun, but if you feel like you are constantly hold back by the gear grind it just isn´t.

Yea, you can play with ilvl 600 and accept that a 6 is as hard as a 10 for people with more gear and enjoy that? But who on earth does that? Usain bolt does not run barefoot with chains on his legs to seek an artificial challenge, he does so with the best gear available so he can see what he is truly capable of.

Actually the skill cap is quite evident when you realize that some people can’t time 10s in 613 gear and others can. None of this is about progression, that’s a red herring. You don’t need to give people the best gear to see who’s better, you just have to give them the same gear.
It is not. I am still seeing people in 5’s who have ZERO clue as to what to do on certain bosses. They are failing in 5’s.
If you failed in a 3, 4, or a 5 last expansion towards the end, i would jsut shrug my shoulders and sigh.
But a 3.4.5 now, are not 3,4,5 anymore. They are last expansions 10,12,14. And at 14 you no longer get passes for not knowing the mechanics. No. This is why i leave. Because if i carry you forward you will get the score and the gear and still wont know what to do leaving you to screw up the next key in another session. Enough is enough.
Learn and do the mechanics as best as you can and see if you can do the key.
What gets me is that i now ask people before we start if they all know the bosses. Even that is not good enough.
And i am still getting abuse when i leave those groups as healers after seeing DPS fail. I want to time keys and get gear if at all possible. THis is not possible with DPS that has zero clue.
And what would be the solution? Everyone bis 639 geared on week 2?
Even your own example about Usain Bolt. He didnt get there where he is by having 1 sprint at school and volla he is an olympic champion. it took years of hard work and practice to get where he is now.
EDIT: To help you point out my view: I started in m+s on levels 2+4s, once I felt convident enough moved to +6s. Made an too early step into +7s so went back to +5-6s for a while. Eventually arrived at 9s and even squeezing on +10s. Gear I gathered on the way helped me. Thats my progresssion and how it always has been as long as I played m+
So this weird and ludicrous notion “If I timed +5, then i need to time a +9 and must get 3x +10 vaults done on week 2/3 of the 6-7 month season” I am sorry its beyond me

there was absolutely 0 reason to move crests from +6 and GV from +8 to 9/10 . zero.
it worked for 2 yearsi n DF - there was 0 reason to change it.
My plan was to focus on M+ this season but tbh I don’t like the dungeon pool nor the feel of the balance/combat this season, and the gearing issues others are reporting has sealed it for me. Probably going to just level an alt, progress it through Delves until I have it in full hero track, and ignore M+ and Raids.

ofc they are - because players who know what they are doing have literaly 0 reason to play those keys when dvelves exist.

Yeap , timmers should exist only on competitive levels , we are just players that want to gear up and top dps meters for fun .

i will be out of here soon, but this again is just even more of a red herring. Do they run a full group of ilvl 613? or do they get carried? Do you VoD review every player individually?
As i said, “skill” is a terrible term to gate anything by, especially in a game played together with others, but the closest you get to any halfway decent metric of it is if everyone has the best gear they can have (as then that varriance fator is 0), and the more runs the better, so the faster anyone is on the same varriance, the better the metric goes. Also there´s just no good way to compare your runs to people of the same ilvl with the same group lineup, all you get is the IO Score.
And you still keep skipping the part where gear is needed to naturally nerf the content and make it accessible. You can gate huge parts of the game for 99% of the players, but it´s not good business. There´s a reason retention got way up when they took down the raid difficulty in Aberrus. Also a reason they now put in new buffs to nerf the raids additionally to the gearing.
Why should M+ be excempt from that (or delves for that matter, no reason they donßt get mythtrack, especially when Zekvir ?? apparently is made for way above champion gear according to Blizzar dthemselves and it is for Delvers i pressume).
what’s insane is some people do this is on every class per season. I have seen the pics on Facebook groups from last season and player working towards it in TWW S1
that’s 13 classes and you’re hating this on one toon.
I myself given up tww s1 , I got curve I’m sticking to delves and just collecting mogs/mounts/pets and wait for anniversary content and S2.

What I miss is the content expansions used to involve.
When was the last time we had 15 dungeons, and 4 raids in an expansion, well it was Legion. It seems the new “new mid expac dungeon” experience, is to just stick old ones in the Microwave.

So that´s been a lot of runs? or you got in early enough to progress with the 26+ people of last saison?
For me I´ve been ill the first two weeks of M+, so I fell behind the curve, and with this difficulty you absolutely cannot pug anything reasonably rewarding atm when you ar outside the top 5%. It´s always been much easier to climb in M+ with a good start staying ahead of the curve, as the quality of groups is just much higher, but in previous saison you could carry mid-levle groups well enough to slowly climb back up.
That is just not happening anymore.
Appart from that i mostly play at night after work, for relaxation. I do not want a ridiculous challenge then to just gear up. I want Content that can be done if i play reasonbly well in a 90% ish way, now keys get bricked by a single mistake waay too early ion progression.
Again, this is an infinitely scaling system. You will eventually always find a Challenge no matter how good you are. It´s just unreasonable to put that hurdle on so early. I have enjoyed playing throgh 13s, 14s and 15s last saison. Still felt more reasonable than current keys, but at the difficulty when it´s for the challenge only i can live with single mistakes maybe depleting the key. It´s also fine then if you progress a dungeon a dozenzillion times over the saison to get really good at it. That´s why we have levels beyond the rewards, infinite so.
With the current iteration they can just make it like mythraid with 1 difficulty only and screw the whole system, as 10+ will be for 1% only. There´s no + in M+ anymore for most of us.
