Game time and net blance

How does that make sense ? Please do explain, they use throwaway accounts and hacked accounts

Because these are the people that want to only purchase small chunks of gametime or gift it between botting accounts. I haven’t read the article Puny quoted yet but one of the two I mentioned in my original post put it quite well.

Hacked accounts are a lot less common these days and are more regularly used for retail farms I’d imagine. Throwaway accounts yes, though using gold for tokens and giving them to other accounts is probably common; another one that was common was them using VPNs and other tricks to buy time from Argentina since it was the ‘cheapest’ for stronger currencies.

Except it doesnt impact them at all ? Why would they be impacted with throwaway accounts and an infinite amount of gold ? Why would they care ? They get a lot more than they need

Because they now need to pay more per bot/account than they had to do before. The risk/reward just got costlier.

They still have way more than they need though, that wont put them out of business or make even a small amount of them stop what they’re doing lol, this is all about more money for Blizzard I’m sorry but it is

All I took from the UK having it first is that we were the guinea pigs to see how it impacted their income. Then they rolled it out worldwide.

I am not saying that there isn’t a financial impact for Blizz, although they have just lost an awful lot of players who bought the 30 day game time so that is going to hit their balance sheet quite a bit. However there can be more than one reason for a change to be implemented.

You’re probably right although the backlash on the forums would suggest that there are now a number of players who will be lost over this issue.

Lets just say a random number here because we obviously dont know, lets take 100 000 000 gold, you pay about 200k for a token, and all of a sudden you pay double, would you care ?

Well, for the times they use something that’s not tokens it would cut into their profits more. More initial cost if an account gets banned before using all that time, more initial cost = less bots at one time and perhaps less bots overall if it’s hurting them too much. I guess only time will tell with that, though since currently I see the same amount for bots.

As some of us suspect it’s probably more financially motivated, and perhaps had some extra bonus stuff thrown in like that it might help some with bots but that likely wasn’t their main motivating factor.

It might be I agree, but it certainly isnt the focus of this “fix” which no one asked for

I will admit that I don’t know how these things work so this could be completely wrong however, when accounts get shutdown and the main account holding all the gold cannot gift game time or Bnet balance to get the next set of accounts up and running it is surely going to have some impact on the botter? Obviously assuming that Blizz actually still try to do something about botting which is another discussion entirely.

Then you don’t get to play.

Why is that hard to understand?

not really i mean yeah, people who quit will quit but blizzard will just start catering to the people who are still playing the game if its still profitable and maybe attract new, different customers. i dont think the game would be dead per se.

and tanks are pretty much only rare and valuable in m+ because the responsibility is so high and you have at the same time so little control over 4 other random team mates on a timed content type. only a few people want to put up with that.

there are plenty of tanks out there - they just dont pug, i think my guild has almost as many tanks as we have healer and i think one or two tanks only pug m+, if at all. and raid spots are usually always taken because you only have like two raidspots for an entire raid and those spots are taken for as long as the person wants to tank.

so…tanks are really only “valuable” for m+ pugs.

belgium here also ,
i bought 1 month game time cards online before on sites like dundle, it wasa litle bitmore than a sub but i could buy or not when i wanted. A normal debet card dont work for me at the blizz store.
now i pay with my phone for 2 months or buy 2 months on dundle and that is just wrong.
i want to pay 1 month upfront.
Do you ‘rich’ (not you izylar but as a whole)peeps pay 2 months rent for youre home each time. guess not.

No… tanks are needed by raids too… theres 2 slots for tanks… and they are still rare! I can ez get my sire kill each week since theres always a need for tanks… saying its m+ only is just wrong. M+ is just the cherry on the top

yeah…they are rare for…pugs.
