Games too grindy

**hey I’ve played this game since i was a 10 year old on and off over the years starting at WOTLK taking a break at legion and returning at shadowlands and i must say I’m not sure if its due to the lack of fun this game provides me due to that sense of community that has in my opinion completely left the game.

I personally believe that the game has just become too grindy for any casual player to enjoy, I’ve done mythic too a reasonable level and recently just switched covenant to try obtain the venythyr armour for a nice tmog and i just honestly can not be bothered spending whatever amount of time grinding anima why does everything have to be such a grind even a 6 hour quest line just to get the basic one that’s longer than some peoples work shifts.

But hey I’m just a casual player that’s probs given blizzards a thousand pound or more just looking for a more casual and less relentless grind ( a level that’s still fun too do) this was my childhood game and id just like to see it return to some level of fun for everyone. **

Biased bad thread and nothing else.

First of all,

Cosmetic, and not tied to player power. I’m a tmog hunter / mount collector, and I think it’s fine you work towards the transmogs and mounts. They shouldn’t be just handed to you. Especially if you haven’t done a venthyr campaign before.

You know what grinding means? Doing a quest line for 2-3 (don’t exxagarate, I did mine in 2 hours easily) hours is not grinding. Grinding is killing mobs in Tanaris for the Insane title for 20 hours. Not doing a nice and dynamic questline.

You don’t grind anima aswell. It’s given to you for basically every single content there is, and loads of it. Whole set is about 30k anima, and you get 3-5k per day with just killing a few rares. That’s 10 days of work.

No, not even. Stop defending Blizzard and their unreasonably long and ridiculous grinds.

The things he mentions are in fact a lot longer than they should have to be, because no one except those with absolutely no lives and are able to play 24/7 can do it.

And to add to this, I personally just want the second recolor of the artifact pvp skin, but do you know how long it takes to get to honor level 30? Too long. Even if you win every single match, it takes weeks, if not months. And for a skin.

So is love, adapt and conquer. (Wut)

Yeh that’s fair enough but mythic + which is all i do doesn’t seem to give me much like i stated I’m a casual player who plays on and off purely due to time restrictions I haven’t even unlocked flying yet in shadowlands due to the game just not being appealing to throw hours into anymore this isn’t 2010 or 2013 cant just sit for ten days for a cosmetic maybe that’s just me but it just isn’t fun and a game should be fun and trying to bring in more casual gamers who’s ill actually keep the game alive and the player numbers healthy i full understand a grind for items that affect performance but lets be real tmogs shouldn’t be as grindy anymore

The answer is 42!

Once again all my opinion and gets a lot of people have more time to game than me but it just is stupid when it takes ages to even find a mythic group sometimes or to get into a pvp match its not like other other games where you can go from game to game one after another it takes time to even get into a match too play therefore extending the grind and in some way to me burning you out when you have to wait another 15-30 minutes to say get into a pvp game to get some anima (once again I’m a casual noob so I don’t know any tricks to get anima quickly I just returned after a 4 month break there so I’m still just adjusting to end game stuff as well)

Howcome not even? If I’m being reasonable, it’s automatically defending Blizzard. The things the OP mentioned are purely cosmetic, and take a few hours to obtain. How is this grindy and so bad? Don’t quote such crap like ‘no lifing and 24/7’… for a transmog set? You gotta be kidding me.

First of all, who is forcing you to do it? It’s cosmetic. If you want it, farm it (it’s also not as bad as you’re making it to be so no idea where you got the info that honor levels take so much).

This is a you problem, not a game problem. Flying is the easiest to obtain since it’s been available at launch in MOP. All other expansions had it way harder with the pathfinder systems.

What do you want though? Your post screams ‘I’m a casual, I pay for the game, I want every single thing there is without putting much effort’. All the grinds this expansion (minus the covenant special activities) has been nerfed to the ground, so stop whining.

Ok, it’s evident that you have no life and have time to play 24/7, hence your silly comments.

I won’t bother any further, and will just disregard everything you’ve said as silliness due to not having a realistic grasp on reality or time.

A lot of other threads are stating its more like a job than prioritising fun which i suppose relates too my point. At the start of shadowlands it wasn’t easy too obtain flying same as BFA a ridiculous amount had too be done for something which tbh should just be given I shouldn’t have to unlock the ability to fly in every new zone seems a bit stupid, and your right my issue more with the tmog was mythic don’t provide me with much anima and pvp is the same which you replied with do bosses which I appreciate the advice for

I’d say it’s more of a chore than a job, it’s not like you actually get equally rewarded for time put in, like you do with a job.

i cant understand. what do you want? No questline? Or a questline that gives you the mog after 1\2hour?
The game is grindy and SL is bad but sincerely… im playin less than 4 hour\week and im having almost all the mogs for the 4 covenants and i have all the exalted reps (except avowed and missing 5000 for enli)
Wow has many problems but grinding? nah.

No, I have a life and I’m not playing 24/7. It’s far from that. But you people just whining for the sake of whining is not something I will support. There are such harsh grinds in WOW and for sure there are some issues here and there, but you are making things like flying, getting honor level 30 and farming 2 covenant armors look bad, and in reality, they are not. If you want me to blow smoke up your as* and support how poor you 2 are, that’s just not gonna happen.

It’s not a job or a chore. You are not thinking with your own head, you are listening to opinions of others, and you are making up something in your own world. Some examples of wow being a ‘chore’ are legendaries and the mandatory Torghast grind, grinding heart of azeroth Azerite, artifact power for artifacts and so on, aka player power.

Grinding a transmog / mounts / pets is NEVER a chore, because it’s not a boost to player power, thus making it 100% optional. If you don’t want to do it, you don’t do it. It’s that simple. If you want to do it, you will grind it out. I grinded 100 reps to exalted to get the Pureheart courser. This was not a chore because I chose to do it. Can you understand this?

At the start, it wasn’t even available. And after 9.1. launched, you got it on the 2nd week while just playing passively since the only requirement is to get lvl 45 renown. I agree BFA one was abit harder, but it’s still awarded purely from just passively playing the game (exploring, doing WQs, doing the story etc).

these 2 sources are not meant to grant so much anima in the first place. Activities like these are more a way to get geared, not to get a 100% optional cosmetic reagent. Anima is farmed with world zones such as ZM, Korthia and so on. I’m getting 2-3k anima per day in ZM with playing 20 minutes, so it’s really not that bad.

Like I said, you have no concept of reality or time and I will not engage in your silliness.

When you have a valid argument, let me know, then we can try again.

but for you the reality is “i agree with you 100%?”.

Im sittin on 26k anima just running every 2\3 days the 5 quests and killing some rare.

Yeh well the game doesn’t exactly explain that’s how your meant to get anima if i could make 2-3k a day I wouldn’t be complaining but who knows I appreciate you guys explaining a bit on how to earn it wouldn’t of maybe made this its just taken me ages to even fill the reserve on that first covenant mission which i think is where my annoyance has come from

The chests in ZM are always full of anima. Same some rare.

I’ll check that out when I’m back from work I appreciate it thanks man

I can’t relate about the community part, I have a greater sense of community via my friends and discords now than I ever did when I started back in TBC, back then people were incredibly toxic towards me. A reputation WoW still retains to this day.

I depise the collecting and power gain aspects that covenants brought.

The system does allow me to switch now between all four because I have renown 80 but it’s utterly impractical. The amount of anima required is insane and the costs have never gone down. I only collect plate/items equippable on my paladin but still the list is enormous from four covenants.

I am gimped by the fact that I can’t receive drops for the other covenants when I’m not part of that covenant. So all the soulshapes I am missing from content or the costume drops for Necrolord etc wont drop while I’m a member of another covenant. It’s a terrible experience.

In Dragonflight they have kept the renown system for reputation gain but we wont be tied to the dragon aspects specifically. I’m hoping this will make our collecting experience far more enjoyable.

Lol what?

Game isn’t appealing is a ‘you’ problem?

Any chance the games just plain doodoo?

Personally I don’t mind it, but let’s not kid ourselves when this expansion has been a royal flush for the majority part.
So you may like it, but OP is just saying their concerns and you acting all defensive?
