It definitely done one thing, reduce the player count by making people who wanted to play the game a certain way, quit.
exactly and therefore since gnomeregan offers stronger gear than boe. the biggest reason to buy gold would be gdkp.
Agreed. However, if you think of the total amount of reasons that exist to buy gold to be X+Y (X being Gdkpâs, Y being the rest), the new amount is not Y, but Y+Z, where Z is made up of reasons contained in Y, but that have grown in value, due to the fact that X is no longer an option.
The explanation to this Z value being that people who would buy Gold for Gdkp gear and saw less value in it to be directed at the other possibilities to obtain gear (part of Y), now see an increased value in those reasons (Z), due to the lack of the previous alternative (X).
But they arent?.
Players are just overpricing goods to rip gold from those who do buy gold⌠theyre never gonna get rid of every gold buyer.
Bots directly reduce the cost of everything on AH due to spam underpricing. Prices inflate when botting decreases.
Prices went up, due to a decrease in bots.
So where are you getting your information that there was a decrease in bots or are you just assuming that?
I go by what I see and I donât see a decrease in bots, itâs actually worse in the open world and god knows what itâs like in instances.
your only mistake is that bots dont sell item on ah,bots just vendor everything then send the gold to the pimp then to be sold to players,
The ban of GDKP for me personally changed only one thing - I see one spam less, and this is good.
ppl who farmed gold in gdkps are now buying gold or quit. wow, awesome change
Atleast i dont have to see their spam in chat . Worth it
Players buying gold is the problem. Bots wouldnât exist if no one was buying gold. If everyone who bought gold was permanently banned there would be no bots.
People will always find things to spend gold on as long as you can buy anything non-cosmetic with it. Now trading gold is strongly tracked and dangerous, therefore high prices.
The only way to deal with bots is to actively ban them. It is clear that blizzard do not have the capacity / desire to hire GMs, so the only solution I see is a community-based bot tracking system.
By the way this still does not mean that GDKP should return. The ability to buy loot with gold is conceptually bad and detrimental to the game.
