GDKP problem and overgeared ppl on Firemaw

Hello, i just started this new topic and dont rly know if it helps me, but i need to write something. I got t4 priest healer so i wanted to start some new dps and i made warr. Since im playing this realm its getting every day overgeared and its almost impossible to find normal raid for t5 or ZA, becouse almost everybody wants you to be geared with t6 or lower but as i say im stuck with my warr at 2xt4 set items and always got kicked. Only GDKP is the way to get in any instance and im giving it few days and we will not be able to get normal Karazan just GDKP. I love this game but I bought gametime and its almost not posibble to get in normal raid … everyone wants GDKP and there is no way out from this trap… Im playing it for fun and not for farming gold and its not only my problem, i met a lot of ppl in world and they have same problem and my mates which are playing wow with me are in same trap. is there any solution?

So if you don’t have T6 gear yet, that should be fine then?

Maybe you dont understand me. I want to play real wow classic pve, going raids and get gear like normal player and not for golds… for now i need to do ZA,tk and ssc. And reality is ZA onky for GDKP or be geared t5-t6 and t5 i cant get becouse its a miracle to find classic raid Tk or ssc and when i found some they want geared ppl too so this is magicle circle and i cant move elsewere. For now only way just only way is paying gdkp for gear and im asking this is rly normal? This is the way of playing wow ? Thats why im buying gametime to farm gold for 3weeks to get one ZA GDKP?

Bery should just focus on doing pvp and getting pvp gear. Wotlk will come soon anyway. If Bery needs 5v5 capping team, Berny will help out.

i already did it becouse as i say i cant do pve becouse of this stupidity called GDKP. Pvp is funny but not as much as pve for me…thats why im return to wow tbc classic and for now everything is going to be ruined. My dream was t6 warr, but its impossible and problem is not in me…

Join a guild that clear raids. If you PUG it’s your problem.

I was in 3 guilds with geared ppl and always same: if you are not geared for hyjal, bt you need to find gear elsewere. We are not going ssc or t5 runs… but if you now some guild which are helping other players pls tell me

In short. At the tail end of expansion YOU made dps alt that requires a lot of gear to be even remotely useful in a group and now randoms in trade chat should gear YOU up because it’s YOUR dream to get T6 on warrior (and you came up with that dream 1 month after Sunwell release).

Sure, the problem is GDKP. If you want to get boosted then become GDKP buyer, if you want to

then you need to put the effort first like everyone else.

As raidlogging is burning people away people stop raiding old tiers quickly thus the gearing chain for TBC is broken. In WoTLK it’s better in that regard.

As what was mentioned above - late expansion/vanilla experience is horrible as the only active people are progression raiders with pre-existing gear, alts and support. Even without GDKP runs there wouldn’t be noticeable more of normal runs. At best wannabie groups that struggle with previous tiers.

And you think this would be different in any way for SR-runs? You clearly havent played “no achievment, no gs xyz no invite” wotlk.

soon ™ we getting “no XXXX gs/no achi no inv”

I mean, if you show up just before the wotlk pre-patch, it can’t have been that much of a dream… and full T-6 was never for people just playing for fun. Other than that, yes, that’s why LFD/LFR was a god send, you can experience the story and get the min gear without being gate kept.

I’m not turning this into another LFD thread, but wotlk should be more casual friendly if they implement it as it was. The vaults are really pug accesablee and with a 10 man you should be able to find enough other people low-geared people to by-pass GDKP.

Why do you write in the third person?

Find a casual guild that runs t5 frequently, while they wait for WotLK, or rely on badges gear only. Every PuG will be GDKP or SR with HR BiS like DST.

1 or 2 nobodies in a guild buy tens of thousands of gold, go to a GDKP that day that’s being run by their guild, spend that gold on items, and divide all that RMT Gold up amongst the guild.

The person who bought the gold gets a pathetic 2week ban, a couple of days/a few weeks later. But all that gold that was bought doesn’t get taken out of the economy because it “legitimately” transferred hands to other people in that GDKP and “it wouldn’t be fair to take the gold away from those people”… And then you start seeing price spikes in AH, raid consumes double, and you’ve now just started an endless cycle of pushing more and more people to buy gold to be able to afford to raid in the game. It’s either that, or they quit because they can’t keep up with inflation.

Man, can’t wait for “link achieve” #!@$#@! from week 2 after raids open! I also can’t wait for “WTS achievement” spam. LFM heroic spam 4.3K GS needed. Good times ahead of us.

How’s the guy saying he wants to get boosted, he’s saying that he wants to get gear conventionally like the game intended it too be.

ie going into a raid with 24 other people that also need gear from the raid not having to pay a premium for gear from people that are running specifically with the intention of selling the gear.

Being in a guild doesn’t have to be the answer, pugs should always be viable way of playing the game without having an attached monetary value.

GDKP’s are just toxic and force alot of people out the game, ironic that you don’t see GDKP’s on hardly any private servers where you can actually buy gold

Because he wants it ASAP. One month into raid tier he wants a full set for an ungeared and unprepared DPS toon. Due of late expansion burnout leading to much less old raid clears he would have to put the double effort to pre-gear for the current raid and then join a progression guild or a better, semi-static, PUG.

PUGs are good for easier, older content. If you PUG progression raid with a bunch of under-geared and under-prepared people you will fail miserably.

Removing GDKP would remove parsers from participating and thus normal PUGS made by leftovers would be quite weak and you would be hear moaning how raids are overtuned, how guilds or some PUGs are TOXIC because they require some consumables and depending on success factor - require some gear quality threshold. He is already rejected from guild because no gear - and this is TBC where the only catchup is grinding old raids and some HC dungeons. For a DPS toon by the end of an expansion that’s quite a challenge without anyone supporting it.

If OP really wants a full set then 2-4 months on clearing old raids and then 2-4 months on clearing current raid to get the gear.

WoTLK has catchups and retail followed on that so that so anyone can join and play by then end of an expansion. Yet even in WoTLK if you won’t be there from launch you will loose some benefits, if you won’t be in an organized guild you will loose some benefits as well. Casual PUGs aren’t intended nor capable to shower BiS gear.

From now on, Berny will go to GDKPs every day and leech off gold. No bidding, minimal effort, collect gold, and on to the next.
