What if there was a PvP mega server where GDKP was allowed? Would it popular and people enjoying it?

Yes please!!!
Imagine all the Bots and RMT enjoyers on 1 server.
After 4 months just perma ban everyone that chose that server.
Super efficient. Love it.

We’ve had GDKP on the Classic Era before and no GDKP on SoD.

It was very clear from the differences how gameplay was conducted that they seriously did not want to have any GDKP on the Anniversary Classics.

And the difference in how the endgame engaged with is so stong it makes night+ Day look like a small gradient shift.

One is buy as many tokens and RMT as much as you can sou you canengage with tehn endgame at all,and feels exactly like countless pirate servers over the years, wheich themselves feel like nothing more than overblown gacha games… wheras teh other still has some semblance of an actual videogame with a social environment and not just a way to burn as much money as possible as quickly as possible…

To be fair. I can´t imagine that there is currently no gdkp going on. I mean, people probably just do this stuff over discord i´d imagine.

oh yeah… just one mega server with all gold buyers, and just ban their accounts without any notice. im in

SOD is filled with GDKP its just traded (i mean the gold) outside of raid chat and its all managed via Discord.

Why do you think there are so many bots? People buy gold before p1 to do what with it? GDKP is happening its just all managed outside of game com channels.

The better question is why are people so fed up with how guilds distribute loot that they are willing to RMT into GDKP?

The loot system needs to meet the needs and expectations of gamers of today !

Here is a crazy idea: BLIZZARD adds a gold bidding window in game for items!

And players, are still punished for GDKP even if they don’t communicate inside the game. As you noticed, gold and items still change hands which is sufficiently proof for such.

As you realise, people insist on buying illegal gold. While none of that is necessary to play the game.

Then why don’t they create or join a guild with fairer systems? Nobody stops them.

… Which already existed in the form of GDKP bidding pre-ban. Or just the old “I trade gold for your item” boom.

I thought about it.

But not gold. Rather “gear point” or whatever you call it.

So people earn “gear points” in some way. Definitely can’t just buy them or just trade them. Need to work on them. For example everyone loot 1 gear point in end-game 5-man dungeons from the last boss. And then they visit the raid and use auction to trade gear points for gear. Pot is divided among participants.

That’s just a rough idea. But I think it could be an interesting one.

It will never be implemented by Blizzard, though, too complex, so just a fun idea to think about.

That’s basically the sidereal essences and scourgestones from Wrath classic, where you got tokens to buy bis gear from previous raid tier in heroic dungeons. Brilliant system that is absolutely worth repeating.

My $ 0.02

GDKP is cancer to the game.

It was the way the people who ran private Classic servers used to fund themselves and their project. This happened on most servers except in N where the Devs had taken an extremely strict stance against it and Volunteer GM’s enforced it.

What GDKP did was introduce a bunch of very aggressive and very toxic players to the game, (then) usually from China and Slavic Eastern Europe who created a “Mafia” and aggressively monopolized resources in order to make gold which they could sell to more affluent players from North and West Europe. Then, they created guilds that sold gear to the same players either for real money or gold that could be resold for real money.

They didn’t care about the game, they played just to make real money.

Then there was the mass bot epidemic they used in order to make more gold which they could sell for real money. In original Vanilla which I played (2006) there were still bots ofc but far fewer and no GDKP so the impact on the game was much lesser.

Banning GDKP was the best thing that Modern Acti-Blizzard has ever done. It ensures that players who destroy the game by manipulating it to make real life money will give the Anniversary Servers a miss.

if blizzard just did their job and banned bots and gold buyers… i see the issue where it encourage gold buying, but if they enforce the rules harder gdkp could be a thing agian for us gdkp enjoyers

Naa i think its dumb would desribe it as pay to win. I imagine gdkp makes people who have lots of gold feel important or empowered. Rolling on gear is fair and relies on chance/luck as opposed to be rewarded for having excess gold. If you support gdkp you are a Tory.

Yes its called Firemaw, go join the toxicity.
