I have 2 Warriors 30 ilvls apart, only thing I notice is traits (which are easy to catch up on) and Safeguard/Maledict (but thats the third cap item and they buffed conquest by 50% this week)
Hm my rogues are 5 and 40 ilvls apart; 5 ilvls I notice nothing except trinkets but they have the same now and that ally rogue above (that I’ve not really played this season) I noticed the haste, traits and trinkets. Haste just led to really sluggish gameplay and I found the “big” combos you do as Assa (e.g. tb alone, tb+vendetta, tb+vendetta+vanish) didn’t do as much. Maybe I should logon it and get some 385 trait pieces and see what its like now. If it has haste its probably okayish but gearing is so slow not sure I can be arsed with more than 2 chars.
Old battleground badges and conquest system was best
Earn badges and conquest then buy what you want…right now is play like crazy without any control of what you get or how you gonna develop your character.
OP here. I can see the topic is changing a lot to a discussion whether pvp or pve gives more gear. This is not what I want. Imo pve is about gearing and improving your char while pvp is about outplaying others, not showing off your high gear
that’s a preference thing. i disagree with it but my arena partners would likely agree with you. for me, character customisation and progression are crucial parts of the game, and i enjoy both getting better gear and tinkering with what i have in an attempt to optimise it, try different builds and what have you.
what i will say though is that while the customisation and progression are important to me, outgearing is not really. i want to see MY character get stronger, that’s what i care the most about.
the wod system was a good middle ground between the people who want complete fairness and the people who want an rpg experience, and i think it was perhaps the best pvp gearing system the game has had. going back to that would be a great idea in my opinion.
you had fully unlocked gear with various options, so you had the ability to try different things and you could feel your character getting noticeably stronger with big upgrades. at the same time, the best gear came from a pvp vendor that everyone had access to, so it was a pretty level playing field once you had the gear.
