So blizzard removed the item level shown on items for the LFG tool.
And thus sending us back 10 years to gearscore spamm recruitment and requirements.
Is this what you wanted?
Turning into p server mess faster than you know lol.
Soon you’ll need 4.7k to go naxx25

If you dont know, GearScore from retail
Its worse this time around. People have so much gold this time that they can just buy every BOE on the AH upgrading their GS without even going to any raid/dungeon. GDKP have already started for Naxx so the whole GS is useless. But people like to turn themselves into numbers and there is nothing we can do about it.

Why you care about someone else gear? I dont understand it… you like when your raid have bad avarage gear and wipe cuz of this?
Only DPS matter, not gear. Thats even more fun, when you have worst GearScore and gear than other people and you deal much more DPS than this noobs who buy gear

I personally don’t care about gearscore / ilvl at this current stage lol.
Naxx10/25 are easy enough as it is lmao.
We 24 manned it with 5-6 dps in questing greens.
Cleared it within 2 hours
(Wiped once due to tank afking during pull and having to run allll the way back to the 4 horsemen lol)
I had one person asking me what my GS was for a Sarth 2d run, I told him I don’t know, I don’t have that addon and I never will. Then I went and tanked the run and he didn’t say anything else of it, if you give in to it then it will become popular because it’s attractive to the young and stupid, but if you make them feel stupid for using the addon, and enough people do that, it won’t catch on.
You should take it pretty close to the point of insulting people for using it, and declining them to your groups for telling you their GS.

lol honestly wasnt expecting it to come back around
When I saw the tbc mana oil had an itemlevel restriction for anything below 165, I knew I need an addon to show the original gearscore. I dont understand why Blizzard would keep itemlevel restrictions written in the tooltip, but not show the itemlevel of the actual items. Does not make sense at all. New players get even more confused, than having the itemlevel visible.
The whole idea to not show the itemlevel, as it originally was, is missing the point. As soon as the content becomes hard (Ulduar) and items less distinguishable than they are now (blue/epic rarity difference clearly visible, full epic means good gear rn), players will start using gearscore anyway, just like they did back in the day. Having the itemlevel of items visible does not change anything about these things.

Funny thing is that in 2008 people 20-manned naxx 25 in grizzly hills greens. But it’s the arrogant kids mostly influenced by arrogant streamers who think they suddenly figured out a 20 year old game, because apparently no one did before.

Nah!
This is the social experience everyone was talking about!
This is why we don’t have a LFG but do have looking for battleground.

I wouldn’t say kids.
It’s mostly 28-40 year olds worshipping a unsanitary attic troll that once said:
“If you convince idiots that they’re smart, they will give you all of their money”
And of chat went… TRUE! LOL! TRUE! 100% Accurate
And the poor man children never realized… he was talking about his own audience.

Just to nitpick, gearscore > item level.
The latter doesn’t consider whether the stat on my gear fit me, and I don’t just mean playstyle (focusing on spirit or spell power), but extreme examples like some Zangarmarsh rare trinkets which were entirely useless in dungeons (200 mana on kill).
Also enchants.
It would feel a lot different if it were called PowerScore, wouldn’t it?
I understand right now it’s most irrelevant to ask for it, although you probably wouldn’t want an i150 green tank in a heroic, so to some extent, it’s important. While I did learn that my deaths in Utgarde Keep are strategy errors on behalf of my damage dealers, I did also experience two BC heroics where my gear was clearly a hindrance: my paladin being crushed by Dark Portal endboss, and my druid losing the tank / team in just a few seconds right at the entrance of MGT (either my throughput or their defense).
If you don’t understand the issue you probably shouldn’t comment.
You’re being excluded for being in prebis cause prebis has a lower gear score than a random collection of epics.

I didn’t read his comment like that.
His comment did read like a typical RDF run to me: first just get in, if we fail, drop the weak link(s). Meaning, don’t judge just because he has low gear.
(I joined my first Naxx10 in a mix of 70 Merciless (xbow, chest, legs iirc), and a random mix of questing-dungeon greens-blues. Maybe that was for heroics but entered Naxx soon after. At that stage buffs are proportionally stronger so your 1400 dps can turn to 2000+. (In 2009.)
Also, he says it’s actually performance. If I don’t use my cooldowns properly, I may have good tanking gear and still splat more often.
