We need some Targeting for desired loot and not just when fated season is active. Where are bonus rolls? I do like a decent farm, but i dislike getting (when i get loot from m+) the same items over and over, while my group members fish the Trinkets, weapons and jewelry
Simply redoing does not help at all, i feel my time being wasted. I won’t start discussing how bad group loot in general is. Thats another story.
Tldr: We need more loot and better targeting or some sort of bad luck protection when receiving duplicates
I do miss bonus rolls, they let us target a specific boss or dungeon for an item, however I think with the catalyst and larger vault system in place they probably feel there is enough in place already. That would be my best guess.
Game could be more generous with loot in general. Non keystone dungeons give like 4-5 gear pieces per dungeons to the party, but in M+ they want you to grind it so only 2 pieces per timed dungeon.
I think what we actually need more than any sort of targeting is better item tuning so players don’t feel the need to farm two specific trinkets out of the 10 or so currently available to their spec from dungeons.
It doesn’t really help that literally every raid this expansion has had a stat stick trinket that everyone, regardless of class, spec or role, probably wants to go for, and can roll for.
My worse is open the vault getting an item. Then do 4 x Mythic or 5 x TW and open the chest and you get : Exact same item you picked from the vault. That to me feels like a complete waste of my time. That should also never happen in the game.
pretty sure it is not rng.
every item has a certain drop chance and usually trinkets are lower
if you are swimming in trinkets, you might have been lucky.
i am still missing a trinket a ring and a necklace after over 50 runs
necklace was kinda clear as there are not many available in the dungeon pool. trinkets are always the last slot for me to fill and i found i was incredible lucky to get tyrs already.
We don’t, we just have more sources of loot. We’re still at the mercy of RNG when it comes to acquiring specific items like trinkets, weapons, rings etc…
There’s no evidence of this and it’d be incredibly hard to prove. It’s also not necessarily my experience, drop rates for specific items in dungeons are just bad in general.
last season i have never seen rain song drop in my group, but every single other item. I have run countless of vortex pineapples. Could be bad luck for rveryone involved, or just low drop chance. luckily i got a 447 rain song in my vaupt the first week lolz
no evidence yes, but when was the last time you really had to run a metric tons of dungeons to get a belt.
of course it might be perception that there are more belts that have different stats vs just 1 item, but well… maybe can be datamined
I think the crafting system in DF alone offers more agency in ilvl acquisition than we’ve ever previously had, let alone the catalyst and the season tier token. I agree we’re still largely acquiring gear by rng but there’s a decent amount of deterministic / rng dampening factors as well.
Healer trinkets will show up the least on any data sheet because unless someone else is changing their loot spec they’re only an eligible drop for one person. Also a lot of people just don’t intuitively get their head around the statistics of loot drops in keys and feel they “Should” have something far sooner than they actually statistically should.
In terms of just item level and acquiring items in general, I agree it’s never been easier to gear up a character. But the problems of running a dungeon over 50 times before getting the item you’re after, or never getting Icon in S1 despite clearing the raid every single week, those are still far too real.
If only we had a system with which we would have the ability to go and get the items we’re after, at least from raid. There could be like a currency called… maybe something like Dinars. I don’t know, haven’t figured out the quirks yet.
