I noticed while spamming AV’s today in classic era that alot of the commanders, marshals and field marshals had virtually no honor gained the prevous week. Yet they were grinding like hell in AV at the moment.
Then it hit me maybe since you don’t lose rank anymore, what if I just pvp when it’s AV weekend and easily get around 400-500k honor each time. I think thats what alot of these other people are doing who are going for rank 14, I think or am I missing something?
Or does their last week honor collection not show up properly when other people view them?
Maybe, but I did notice alot of people with full Naxx gear set were marshals and field marshals and grinding all day in AV. But Naxx gear is way better than the rank 14 gear, so maybe they just want the title I guess.
Yes, you can play exclusively on AV weeks. You also don’t need 500k honor each week. Actually you only need 2 last weeks of 425k honor, all the previous weeks require less honor to progress (of course that might take even more weeks).
So it’s all up to you to choose a balance between effort and time. Might take months to get R14 with the most relaxed way or you can spend 5 weeks grinding hard and forget about it.
Another issue that might arise is quality of games. Right now, 19 out of 20 games are fast 7-minute wins or losses. Either way you’re getting 3-4k honor + 1.5k holiday bonus. Once majority of rankers will stop playing AV, games will be longer, with more turtles, with more low level players.
Question. Can you stack up on lots of Alterac Valleyt Marks of Honor, and use them next week when AV week is over. The marks don’t get removed every week do they if you don’t use them by reset??
Of course. Those items are good for PVE. And a guaranteed slot too, not waiting for drop and good roll / spend points / gold. Why wouldnt PvE players go for them in the least painful way possible?
WoW classic PvP is very mediocre anyway, if I wanted high fantasy pvp with a handful of abilities, I’d just play Dota2.
Not really true - back in early vanilla it was a proper see-saw PvP battle. Yes there were PvE objectives but you had to engage the opposition in order to complete them.
that’s why i’m boycotting R14 with this system… people are not here to have fun in BGs but just for the gear
i’m having fun in WSG/AB at lvl 49 and gonna stick to this bracket till TBC, it’s sad i can’t do it at lvl 60 due to the hypocrisy of this 418k/week system, lvl 51-60 AV afkers get “paid” with the R14, but lvl 60 WSG/AB active PvPers are not rewarded enough…
Pull Doordash into Galv each game. Pull Luigi into Iceblood meatgrinder. Pop dwarf pilot in case of turtle. Pull frostwolf gy commander to Drek, pop nelf pilot on the way in case of turtle, pop human pilot in tower. Pull hut commander. Make a paladin know I’m ready to pull (do all of the above without evoc so i’m ready for pull). Pull in bop with mentally deficients AoEing on top of me. Prayge they kill Drek before WMs kill me.
If they dont, shout at survivors to hold hut. Shout at mid repeatedly to run south in spirit form. Shout at leader to put skull on one WM or give assist. Pull WM and shout at people to not reset. Repeat until none left. Shout at peopleto go in and kill Drek.
Over and over and over again for 8 hours a day.
Yeah, I’m being “paid” with BWL level armor and AQ level weapon for “afk” indeed.
I work from home office, 90% done via phone or a couple keystrokes.
I have 2 kids btw, not one. I grind about 5-6 hours of AV while “working” when they are in school. Then I pick them up, take them to sports and music practices, make them dinner and do homework with them, if they are fast enough, we even spend some fun time after dinner. Then I do another 2-3 hours when they get to bed.
Weekends like today are fully devoted to them.
Yeah, I’m only working at maybe 60% efficiency when grinding AV, but i figured I could keep this up for 5 weeks before things start getting out of hand. This AV weekend helped since I’m already at 500k after friday grind and a couple hours yesterday, so I can do some 110% work monday and tuesday.
How much time do you spend with your kids if I may ask?
