Ghub bannable?

Hey I recently received a ban on my primary account out of the blue for “exploitative action:hacks”.

And I realize that the the newer mouse I bought over a month ago’s ghub probably counts as automation in some cases.

Now, I was vary of this when I set up ghub for my G502 X, to try to avoid emulating keypresses with it, but several inputs like the third side button (the one for your thumb) as well as tilting mousewheel to the left and right… Their default state was not supported by the WoW classic version, so to even use them I made them input a numpad key to be allowed to bind them to keys.

Now the free-mode for the mousewheel is probably the most abusable, but though I have span it very hard to jump for like 4-5 seconds hands free while bored occationally, I haven’t used this for anything illegitimate like anti-afk.

So yeah, makes me regret buying this whole mouse tbh.

So yeah, sus-iest actions I’ve done with this mouse is spinning the mwheel hard in free mode (It doesn’t stop immediately) and pressing sidebuttons with mwheel tilt inputs simultaneously (Remember this gets filtered through ghub, so all WoW would see would be a bunch of numpad inputs)

You can appeal your case through the method described in the ban email but it does seems that what happened is your hardware emulated forbidden macro usage, commonly for example Razer keyboards or mouses.

The case is no longer appealable according to it, but during appeals I was under the impression I was banned for Forbidden Area exploration (top of orgrimmar, out of bounds ZG and the likes)

Since I did those type of events days prior to the ban (I thought that stratholme specifically might’ve had some automated ban system)

I didn’t even consider the mouse software until I read an article on what “Exploitative action: Hacks” meant (Basically the exploitative action part of it mislead me, or in other words I read it as “Exploitative Actions and/or Hacks.” But having read the article it is for hacks specifically.)

Most people don’t realise Just having ANY macro software active can get you a ban, even if you don’t use it.

Remember you give Blizzard the right to scan your computers processes and if they find one that’s on their list (no, we don’t know what’s on the list) you will get banned.

Yeah I haven’t tried Macros on GHUB, simply rebound mwheel tilt left+right, and whatever that thumb key is called, on my g502 x.

To be fair, I kinda assumed high profile mouse things for Razer and Logitech would’ve been whitelisted?

And now that account is perma banned…

And while I still got another account with a naxx geared 60, I don’t even want to play on that as I’m still using G502 X.

Guess I’ll have to buy another MX518 (last one broke, hence G502 X) if I even wanna continue playing : /

All you need to do is turn the software off when you play.

Absolutely not, I got a warning for having logitech software active. It is macro software that can press multiple buttons including pauses with no input from you, the definition of automation. It doesn’t matter if you are using it or not, it just the software being active will probably get you a ban.

I don’t think you seem to understand that. JUST. TURN. OFF. THE. SOFTWARE.

I guess I’ll have to look into if there are some ways to use those 3x buttons on the G502 X that did not seem to bindable by default by the Classic WoW client…

Though since regedit key edits doesn’t seem to affect the mouse ,then it sounds like I need a custom driver or something… sigh.

Edit: Do people even get unbanned for this in the current era of automation >.>
