Gilded Crests - Hero > Myth track upgrade

What was wrong with the old system of valour, capped by nothing other than your rating. No need for crests and looting the same item 5 times.

The rating component stopped people using it get items they shouldn’t have

That makes no sense.
If a Delve/Vault gives me a gear piece as reward I want to be able to upgrade that without being forced into a Raid or M+ dungeon, how hard is that to understand?

It makes no sense that mythic+ items require some form of achievement in mythic+ to upgrade?

It makes no sense that raid items require some form of raid achievement to upgrade?

“I deserve the rewards for X without ever having done X” is a baffling mentality to me.

Which is exactly what I said. Delve items champ → hero should be possible for those who’ve done all T8s.

Delves are vastly inferior for crest farming, you need to run 6 tier 8 delves in order to get the same amount you can get from 1 m+4.

Getting ilvl 626 from delves should be doable (other than farming 1440 Delves for the 2880 crests you need to upgrade Hero-gear from 619->626), but I agree with everyone who say they shouldn’t drop Myth Gear.

Myth Gear (or any top of the line-ilvl gear really) should be restricted to actual mythic raiders (and whatever high M+ you need), anyone who completed the hardest things the game has to offer at a certain tier.

The tier below however (Hero 626) should be able to be obtained in more casual means like Delves. ilvl 619 is just to early of a progression wall to hit, it will make people quit (as will nerfing delves, regarding a certain rumour…)

Edit: Some possible solutions/fixes:

  • Make T8 Delves drop 5 Runed instead of 2. (And up M+ to 15 while you’re at it, 12 is such a bizarre number.)
  • Make tiers beyond T8 drop Gilded Crests. T9+ Delves are pretty much dead content, and this would give players a much needed incentive to actually do Delves at this tier, + with access to better ilvl gear, players who stuggle with anything beyond T8 might actually be able to start doing T9+.
  • Make Gilded purchable with Vault Tokens in a similar way to Runed.
  • Make Gilded obtainable by weekly/meta quests, a set amount per week, like 15-30.

(Not saying they should implement all of the above, but some of them. Just give us some way of progressing from 619 to 626 outside M+ that doesn’t boil down to "do 1440 Delves :smiley: ")

Would 15 more gilded crests a week cover it?

I’d take that over the 1-2 crests that MIGHT drop from a delve…

How would we disperse them? 10 from bountiful 8 key chests and 5 from zek “??” ?

hell no.
weekly meta quest, e.g. complete 8 T8 delves, like you would do with the Vault.
Unlock the third slot on max reward and you get the 15 crests

Seems fair.

The main problem is that the hero gear reach the wall of 619 ilvl on delves without be able to further ugprade it
The same ilvl with the full upgraded champion gear that reach 619 ilvl and the champion gear is more accessible and more easily to obtain and can have the perfect stats .

The myth gear is 623 ilvl .
The champion gear max upgrade is 619 ilvl.

So basically you can skip the hero gear unless you want to waste gilded crest to upgrade the hero gear .

Even the professions sucks since give 619 ilvl gear for 90 crests =a champion item need 60 runed crest to upgrade to 619 ilvl .

Overall people got tricked believing that the hero gear in delves is somehow a boost . The only boost is that you just gear an easier ilvl boost in the 1st 4/5 weeks . After that is possible to get zero upgrade from the vault and basically 45 crest gives you a 616 ilvl champion= hero weekly .

A big scam for the * omg give hero quality gear *

Sounds like the problem is champion gear goes to the maximum level of runed crests, as opposed to only 2 levels in.

Carved = normal
Runed = heroic
Gilded = mythic

Should be how it’s viewed. With the smaller overlaps to make sure people can always spend their crests.

Sounds to me that gear needs a rework, cause this is honestly not the way it should be.
Higher track gear should be higher…

I think the overlaps are too big but I think there’s one good reason for the overlaps to exist. They let you spend any higher crests you may acquire without having to have gotten lucky and gotten an item from higher content. You just always are likely to have something you’re already wearing that can use them.

Agreed. When 8/8 Champion and 4/8 Hero have the same ilvl and both cap out at the same ilvl with Runed Crests, something is wrong.

Basically, Hero Gear should cap out at 623 with Runed Crests, not 619.

With 12 you’d always have to run 2 dungeons for 1 upgrade, i’d rather they have it drop 10 crests BUT reduce the cost needed to 10 aswell for easier numbers, also reduce the cost required for enchanted gilded to 60.

That doesn’t make sense though. Even if 4/8 hero and 8/8 champ are the same they still use the crest type that relates to the ilvl.

A more logical solution would be to have each track be 6 instead of 8. So there’s still some overflow but no direct overlap at the top of a crest bracket.

Veteran = 584 - 600
Champ = 597 - 613
Hero = 610 - 626
Myth = 623 - 639

Weathered = 584 - 593
Carved = 597 - 606
Runed = 610 - 619
Gilded = 623 - 639

This way a hero item is distinctly better than a champ item, even within the heroic crest type.

And reduce the weekly cap to 60 too, right? Otherwise you’re just increasing gearing speed by 50%.

no keep it at 90.
