Give us a MMORPG this time, do not make the same mistake with Anniversary

I have a billion dollar idea for Blizzard.

  • Do not make the same transition to Burning Crusade and afterwords the Wrath, that we played 2 times already. Make Classic progression matter in BC and WOTLK. This is insanely important. Do not make item value jump so drastic. Let the classic raid gear outperform any green or blue BC gear.
  • Do not introduce flying. Make the next expansions a continuation of the game, not a game from the beggining. Progression matters the most in MMOs. Otherwise we are playing a new game every few years.

You will be immensly surprised how many people will be extatic to try it out because it would be something new and because many people begged you for this for years now. The game might explode again. You need to take risks to get a chance for big rewards.

At the same time you have very little to loose, and so much to gain. In the worst case scenario, if this experiment doesnt work you will get a good impression about your classic audience desires and learn for the future of the game. For the Classic+.

Nah wont happen.
Also “no flying” dosent work since the world and some quests/dungeons require flying to get to.

You want Blizz to put in hours of work? We’re not getting progression, we’re getting TBC on the last patch with “fake patches” like Classic anniversary - sadly.

Why so hooked on no flying?
You have to be max level to fly.
It only matters for PvP.

To make me extatic give me true progression AS IT WAS in 2004/5 onwards. And give HC realms (with the PvP flagging bugs repaired) that progress with the ordinary realms, and last but not least give many realms, not mega-servers.

Hey buddy, how about no? You got 4 flavors of classic already for your enjoyment (Era, HC, SoD, Anniversary) while we have exactly 0 TBC. Do you think I’m sitting here in TBC waiting room for a year to then get some broken, imbalanced TBC+? Kindly frack off with your million dollar ideas and let us TBC fans have our TBC.

Among all expansion, TBC is the one that has the least drastic jump in power. Many will carry their T3 until Karazhan. Some item like the styleen tank trinket remain good throughout TBC.

The very essence of a RPG is character progression. Making loot irrelevant will kill the RPG aspect of the game

BWL gear is usefull up untill around heroic dungeons, AQ and Naxx gear all the way into Kara, what more can you ask for in a expansion when it comes to gear from the expansion before being useful?

I find this myth that people replace their epics in the first few quests to be truly baffling that its still being spread. Vanilla into TBC was just pure progression if you had the gear, sadly for me there wont be any need to really grind out any pre raid bis this time around.

Well it’s only partially a myth, yeah you don’t replace raid gear with green quest rewards from HFP, but as a caster, I started replacing my Naxx BiS in Auchindoun normal dungeons, sethekk and even crypts iirc. Especially socketed gear, if you put green gems in that are basically free on AH from all the JC levellers, it becomes better than Naxx epics.
That being said, I still had some Naxx gear on until heroic dungeons and exalted rep rewards.
