Giving away the name "RetBull"

Have had this great name reserved for so long, still couldn’t bring myself to play a tauren paladin.

Name: RetBull

“RedBull gives you wings” fits perfectly with Retribution paladin XD

To participate the giveaway:
-Post with your max level tauren paladin

Tomorrow, I will use randomiser to pick a name to decide the winner.

Please make sure you really want the name on your current character, not reserving it.

arent names like that bannable on RP Servers?

I am not sure. Roleplayers now days prefer looking at your TRP3 profile name, as long as your character name is not offensive and adultery they dont mind, i guess?

To be the stick in the mud, it isn’t bannable however if you run into someone who actually tries to enforce the name rules, you will be forced to change that characters name, the name change provided is free, so it isn’t all bad.

Retssul? I don’t get it

i knew there was something… i remmeber a belf hunter on here that is around alot mentioning a while ago that there is Rulings to the names your allowed to have.

It appears as RetBull in game

yep, RP servers have a rule that your name should be a fantasy name

which means you can’t go calling yourself Madonna, Elvis, Madmanfromhell, Orckiller, Master.

however it should be noted that the name rule is vague, for instance, Windman might be a good last name but if someone does not think so, reports it and blizzard agrees, you will be forced to change it.

For a real life example, “Master” was a name of a paladin I have, we can agree Master is a pretty common title in fantasy.
however according to blizzard it is not a fantasy name.
Now my paladin goes under a different name.

Thanks for the inputs. I will keep this thread open since I dont know how to delete it. If anyone wants the name, take your own risk haha.

Doubt there’d be a problem if you roll a tauren with it

Just, leaving this here

"World of Warcraft Role Play (RP) realms are intended to provide players with an added level of immersion in the game world and must avoid being disruptive to the world. Examples of common unacceptable or disruptive RP names include (but are not limited to):

  • Non-medieval or non-fantasy names (For example: Slipnslide, Robotman, Discoinferno)
  • Names that reference well known people, characters, brands, places, or icons (For example: Britneyspears, Austinpowers, Mcdonalds, Georgewashington, Newyork)
  • Names that consist of multiple words (For example: Inyourface, Welovebeef, Howareyou, Sixtyseventy)

Blizzard reserves the right to assign a random name to any character violating our RP naming policy. For more severe or repeat violations, we may apply additional penalties to the account."

That said, since so many names are taken on AD if it’s on the line and you have a “real” name in your TRP, ppl tend to not care

folks chill out he’s not even selling it!!

it’s harmless and could easily pass off as a slightly goofy name. we have NPCs called Granny Smith and Haris Pilton in game already. this name’s not going to fit a super stoic paladin, but it’d be a relatively harmless side character.

I haven’t been banned yet so, I think it’s fine. then again I also have a proper RP profile and whatnot. of course names going against general ToS I don’t advice using.

Blizzard don’t ban for something as trivial as a name, you’ll just get flagged with the auto-report system and because of the realms rules be forced to change it, that’s if enough people right click report you. You have to do something VERY serious to get banned. Infact they do very little moderation and even when they did they were extremely lenient, they always have been.

They do, depending on what name you’ve given yourself. If it’s something offensive you’ll get a 24-48 hr ban along with a name change.

Don’t get in the habit of sticking cheesy ooc names for your characters, it looks dumb and breaks immersion alongside RP realm naming TOS. Don’t do it, to me, in honest opinion, it’s genuinely embarrassing seeing players in one’s guild or rp community with stupid names. Be creative if you can’t get the OG variant.

What about “Johnny Awesome” or “Harrison Jones”?

excuse me, who gave you permission to use my emote

get outta here, you third-rate juggler

tryna clown on my turf smh

They’re not player characters, different rules
