How is that relevant in the case of a low level dispelling ppl in BB, getting insta-killed by bruisers? Thatā€™s the kind of case in which I am calling it griefing.

Would it be ok if he was level 60?
I mean iā€™ve killed people in booty bay even with bruisers hitting me.

The whole point im making is that its really hard to decide whats griefing and what isnā€™t. But dispelling people is not against TOS and never was.

blizzard is a god damn meme, I donā€™t know what you were expecting. since legion I expect them to make the absolute worst choice in every scenario, excluding music etc

Good, I hope the guy and others like him stay banned permanently.

The actions of these dispelling campers are griefing pure and simpleā€¦ getting attacked and you knowā€¦dispelling then actually pvpingā€¦all good, thatā€™s the entire purpose of the realm.

Defending these morons is ridiculous, they are literally only out to ruin someoneā€™s day, regardless of how un/needed or easy/hard to get these buffs are. Thatā€™s just being an a$$ for the sake of it.

I would say yes itā€™s ok if he was actually trying to fight and not only dispell. Iā€™m not saying itā€™s easy to decide either.

This is the terms / code we sign up for regarding pvp harassment. (Dispelling)

Oh Iā€™m totally with you, if the guy intended to engage after the dispelling then itā€™s all good.

How do you determine what his intention was when deciding if he should be banned or not.

He is a known dispelling camper who openly admits to have been doing it all day ā€œjust for the lulzā€ā€¦why are you so hell bent on defending them?

You can think all you want about people dispelling buffs, but thinking and allowing people to have pocket gm power because you are sad about your measily world buffs is nuts.

Yeah, the problem when someone is solely trying to dispell ppl is that thereā€™s no real engagement or challenge.

Oh, and to see what the intention was, just look at the outcome. Obviously doing it once or twice wouldnā€™t warrant a ban, but doing it all day just to annoy ppl? Yeah, I donā€™t mind those ppl getting banned.

Because thats his playstyle and its not against TOS.
Some peoples playstyle is to gank all the lowbies in leveling zones on a level 60, should that give a ban aswell?

Because using your class abilities against the opposite faction should not be a bannable offense.

Its a part of an open world experience though. People knew this when they started playing classic and there is pve servers for a reason.

I agree with you entirely, Iā€™m glad it happened but not the way that GM so casually went about doing soā€¦and in a stream of all places.

It wouldnā€™t even be that much of an issue if Blizzard made a statement about dispelling like this being against ToS and consistently sanctioned people for it. The real problem is that apparently you can dispell all day and night as long as one of the targets isnā€™t a VIP. Once you do it suddenly becomes ā€œgrieffingā€ or ā€œtargeted harassmentā€ or whatever the official ban reason was. Also apparently calling people out by name is fine as long as youā€™re a VIP even though people get punished for doing that on forums all the time.
