Seeing as I've not seen a lot of gnomes about, I decided to ask the forums instead:
How is the gnomish roleplaying community here? What's the meta of gnome roleplay? Are there any big, gnome-centered guilds with a flourishing community or are the gnomes of Argent Dawn relegated to being the butt of every in game joke on this realm?

There is Arclight Association centered about gnomes, they are active indeed. But yeah, there is lack of gnome guilds overall, pure gnome guilds. Same as dwarves and other races except humans and elves :/

The Arclight Association has been around for a while now. From what I have seen and heard, it seems to be a pretty good gnome oriented guild. I have seen them about plenty, but not really had the pleasure of interacting with them, so I do not have a whole bunch of info, sadly.

just wait until 8.2 my dude when the flavour of the month RPers all jump on the mechagon bandwagon. you'll be sick of gnome rpers by the time 8.3 hits, trust me on this one
Aye as others have mentioned, The Arclight Association is about and approaching our two year anniversary soon. We are in Stormwind/Ironforge area for the week until we return to Kul Tiras.

As for other Gnomish roleplay, still a few about the Gnomish Rescue Squad still does RP now and then. Otherwise a fair few gnomes to be found in other non race only guilds, which gives benefit of some diverse rp interactions. I do imagine once 8.2 rolls around and we get our first big chunk of gnome content in years might have a surge again of interest.
Hell if you don’t even want to be involved with guilds still free to tag along for any guild events we do just for that Gnomish interaction.

As already mentioned there's at least two Gnome oriented guilds around, The Arclight Association, which is fairly big and pretty active, and Gnomish Rescue Squad, which is not as active as it used to be but have a big public Gnome focused server event coming up this weekend, the anual Gnomumental Memorial Service: https://eu.battle.net/forums/en/wow/topic/17624542654
Also there's a Gnomish community that, beside usual OOC social interaction between Gnome RP'ers, will have events of different sorts up on the calendar from time to time, either of specific interest for Gnome RP'ers, just of general RP interest or arranged for and by members of the community.

I'll always give a recommendation of the Arclight Association if you want Gnomish RP. I've followed them ever since they first came to be and they're not just a great Gnome guild but they have really interesting characters and storylines in general which are great for if you want to play one of the more 'serious' Gnomes we're going to be seeing in 8.1 and 8.2.

Thanks for the responses. I'll check both of the guilds out when I have the time. As for the gnomish community G.N.O.M.E; I've joined it and will chat with you all once I get home.
