It is sickening that there is no content in the game that you can do that awards relevant amounts of gold.
Delves were a great opportunity to create a system/piece of content that is both repeatable, somewhat fun and actually, permanently relevant if it would award a decent amount of gold at the end. It could’ve been the thing you do when you need gold for a raid night, or professions or repairs. But no, they give us a total of…drum roll
9 gold.
It could’ve been immortalized, carried over through seasons, expansions with new delves, new rooms, affixes. It could’ve had a RNG effect where sometimes your delve generates an extra room and that extra room has special chest with more gold and that chest has a RNG that could give an item that opens a door to yet ANOTHER room etc. etc.
Can’t even repair one piece of gear for that amount which is silly. Fully agree that delves need a rework that makes it more fun and not something the majority will do for vault rewards only.
The expansion is too short released for me to find out where the gold is coming from. But i think i got gold from those weeklies you get in the main city. Like the weekly dungeon and that other one (i do not have a name for it yet but it was the 100 thingies this week).
I can’t really find on wowhead what the rewards are for things like Awaken the machines, which is something you probably want to do weekly at the moment too?
There are several world quests for 700-800 gold too. But i am still searching for other resources.
You can make gold with pretty much every proffession in the game, I make 10k per craft for leatherworking for example.
For a more relaxed approach, fly around hallowfall and spider zone and look for Slum sharks, they are selling for 650g each.
You could try playing the market, invest a few hundred thousand into an item that will most likely rise and then sell it, this is fairly predictable around season starts.
What you mean is that there is no gold that requires minimal effort or thought.
No thanks, I wanna do relevant content that utilizes my class and spec to make gold. Not professions and open world mob grinding. Flawed game design, FFXIV does it better, wow can too.
Made 300k gold since release just from herbing minning and fishing while lvling.
If you dont make any gold thats on you tbh.
If you dont want to put in any effort buy a token.
Professions are beneficial for our characters, do you use crafted gear, potions, embellishments, and materials? You are basically a consumer who want everything free, okay
Why you think you need to be rewarded 1000’s of gold for a delve thats takes 5 min to compleet.
Maybe the gold rewards will go up as the lvl is increasing.
1000’s of gold? where did you see that? unless you have to repair your gear that much because you die in a lv3 delve?
Silly remark, when you kill a random monster in openworld they drop grey loot worth more then the full delve provides, think this is a reasonable statement.
barely received gear from delves to be honest, btw I am not the creator of this topic just in case you did not notice.
My point is, how delves are now is just another meaningless thing to do to get that weekly reward for max gear. There is nothing else going on beside the gear.
So tell me this, why would you go in a delve and not do a follower dungeon? basically the same thing only follower dungeons don’t provide good gear. Yeah I do think there needs to be a rework that puts extra stuff to do or to get in delves so you dont have that Torghast feeling or that you have to do it for the gear.
Does this not remind you of something else? Mythic +… it’s just solo. Do you get something else from Mythic +? No, if delves are introduced for the solo players then why would you provide gear that is mainly only useful in group play? Just think about the concept and what they actually provide.
For the record, I love the idea of delves I just feel like there needs to be some adjustments.

The reward is the chest you get not gold.
Alot of people dont do m+ or raids so they get the delves for gear if they like solo play more then group content.
Go reply to that person if it’s just asking how much gold I want from it. I want a better designed delve system and not only the option for a piece of loot or more vault options.
Delves could have been like PoE delves. An infinitely playable endgame that has decent reward gold making and even craft resource farming. At least that is what most of the people thought they would be.
Blizzard does not know how to do random generated tilesets. It is crazy that the game still don’t have any and it is so important in replayability.
And no thorgast was not randomly generated. The zones were hand made it was just the sequence in the rooms were random not the entire tileset generation.
The only example you gave for someone who a) is not interested in professions and b) does not have hundreds of thousands of gold to spare of front is the shark one and even that is questionable.
WoW really does lack a way of grinding through something, whether it be mobs, delves or what have you that awards a reasonable amount of gold. It lacks a way for us non-crafters/rich folks to get gold on demand in a reasonable amount of time.
That is an issue.
But I have to admit, I don’t think the dev’s will waste sleep over this, it’s the #1 reason the WoW token sells so well.
