Good bye, old friend

I used to love the Warcraft franchise. I played Warcraft 1&2 as a kid, spent hundreds and hundreds of hours with Warcraft 3 in my teens. I adventured throughout Azeroth in WoW since 2007 and enjoyed every single expansion of this game, even BfA (which for me is a proper Warcraft story complemented by the best-looking zones this game ever had). I own and read most of the books. I really, really enjoyed this immersive and diverse world that Blizzard’s Employees had created.

I’m writing this rant at the last hour of my active sub. It’s time to say farewell.

This game has lost its soul. Incoming changes are just the symptoms of an advancing decomposition. Corny jokes, race tensions, and so-called toxic masculinity were always part and parcel of living in this vast virtual world. Stripping Azeroth out of it will kill the game. Well, it wouldn’t, if there was some compensation in the content opulence, but there is scarcely anything fresh.

Some might say that the fault is on the management side. It may be partially true. But the real problem lies in the development teams, being sucked out of vision, competence, and creativity. Blizz should really consider sacking all of those people and outsourcing the game dev process to Europe. Americans and especially Californians lost their ability to deliver. Virtue signaling won’t make anything better, especially if it’s the only thing they have to offer.

Dear Blizz, World is not just California. WoW playersbase sensu largo is not a low-T Twitter bluemark with their preferred pronouns pinned to the forehead. For crying out loud, if even hyper-woke (I freaking hate this word) Reddit is mostly critical of the recent changes, it’s really the last moment to reconsider if the chosen path is the right one.

I wish you all the best, for all the good times we had together. Uulwi ifis halahs gag erh’ongg w’ssh.

Hmm , i tried other mmo’s and wow still delivers at least for me .
The quality hasn’t decline in what they are creating . I played most expansions and it’s the about the same quality .

I love reading such threads, to me they always show the passion and love people had for World of Warcraft, it also makes me sad that so many are losing that passion :frowning:

I hope you find a new gaming love that will give you as much enjoyment as WoW once did, good luck and take care.

America is not just California either, maybe moving to Texas where they pay no income tax will be a breath of fresh air for the devs, maybe we’ll also get more cowboy themed expansions cause I don’t like virtue signaling themed expansions either.

I’m pretty much the same, couple more days for me.

Hope more people ask for gold with the same delivery as Jasper with his battleship

Keep your gold, you never know if you will come back, but tell everybody you buried it in Durotar and give them a map to follow - it will keep people occupied for hours

I hope you also find a game that you can love and enjoy, have fun and take care.

I’ve started WoW one year before you, feel ya pal. :frowning:

If you like fantasy style games (not particular MMOs) try out Total War: Warhammer 2.
It can give you a tons of hours until the third part arrives in early 2022.

California jail*

Don’t forgett that this is a war game
In historical wars it was normal for only the men to participate,
20 years ago women were not allowed to become soldiers ( in my country )

Israel was one of the first exceptions were the majority were jewish-woman that participated in war (1962)

So sad to read such posts… ive already uninstalled wow and imho the forum is the most interesting part of the warcraft franchise at the moment.
