First logged in May 2005. Loved the game. Had enough of retail when classic was released 2019. Now just sick of all the constant messing around with SoD stuff affecting era. Goodbye WoW it was good, but I crave you no more.
See you in a week or two!
20-year veteran quits due to a couple of bugs and some changes to an interface.
I call BS.
Berrt played with honor. May Berrt find new adventures.
I’d imagine it is more the principle of it rather than the bugs themselves. Blizzard is disrespecting era players every time they update a version of the game that needs no updates. Also it’s not a “couple of bugs” every time they update it, it destroys addons in addition to the stupid bugs they introduce. There is loads of bugs, probably some you don’t even know of, such as that there are still SOD items present in era from when they made that bug that caused SOD items to drop. For example, on the era AH there is crafted FR resist gear that should have been SOD exclusive, as the SOD patterns dropped and people learned them.
Ok fine, but addons have always been broken by patches since 2005, that’s nothing new the authors are usually quick to update them.
I don’t see having a couple of SOD items available on the AH as game breaking to the extent that I’d quit after 20 years.
The #nochanges gang really are eggshells waiting to be walked on, it feels like.
Nobody is ruining your game, they’re fixing bugs, maybe making an interface better for more modern systems, your game underneath is still the same, nobody is forcing you to level 0-60 in 5 hours, or collect pets and do pet battles, or go to other continents, or skip asking people to do dungeons and just using an auto queue, the game is as the same as it can be, they’re just making it a smoother experience, get a grip on yourselves.
Do Blizzard pay you to fan boy post for them? Era is in a worse state than it was a year ago thanks to these patches. I can only presume you’re some blizzard employee posting on their personal account, because it’s impossible to be so blind to the damage each of these updates is causing.
Yeah it seems Blizz cannot detach Era from SoD. People come to Era to relive the old. Since the main team left the game WoW has gone downhill alot, epically on canon and principles. Now we have AI when we need to ask a unique question, there is no responses from Dev/Blizz employees anymore on the forums.
After a while of constantly being ignored or just plain laughed at (by Blizz’s actions) people are gonna call it a day. Its not just one or two or three things, its when a multitude of changes (and not for the better), that you have to say, ok that’s enough.
When all the SoD updates effected Era, not one bloody Blizz employee even replied or said anything (they could have said: We know and are actively looking into it).
I code my own addons, but Blizz dont even show what they’ve changed, they removed OptionsButtonTemplete and didnt even say what your to use now. Im amazed how the mainstream Addon developers fix some of the things. I think, like other organisations, they dont want allow people to customise so much (e.g micro$haft and win11). Prob too much work for them and they have a lazy steak in them.
Thats my Rant, did put a rare post about how aggro working in Cera with stuff chasing you across the continents and then aggroing into other players instead of de-aggro and going back to original aggro point. (and the players weren’t in my party either).
Edited for spelling/grammar (cos im too lazy?)
Its more than that so stop playing dumb
Addons breaking because the underlying API changes in a game supposed to have #nochanges is new.
Its a huge thing now, all over my big 4k Screen. Blocking the view to basically everything.
Improvement is something different, debatable at best.
Well, I had that with EVE Online after 8 years of dedication.
In the end there have been so many changes you didn’t like, that at some point it just doesn’t feel anymore like the game you decided to play back in the day.
Another one of these changes hits and you decide, that this one little thing is the final momentum pushing you to a decision long overdue.
you can’t even see a mob more than 5 levels above you anymore on era, its hilarious
how did this leak over to era?
No idea what these changes to the interface even are, it looks the same to me,
None of these bugs appear to have impacted my ability to do quests in the open world, which is all I care about, so as far as I’m concerned it’s all good.
I don’t like how new areas looks, I also don’t like gameplay since WOD.
