I imagine that’s what criminals have always said about regular people when they want police to do their jobs.

Please don’t compare abuse to a mechanic in a game.

At the end of the day, you can’t satisfy everyone. The game is living vs dead for a week. If people don’t enjoy it, they don’t have to participate. Everyone knew this was coming.

I have my miner druid parked in the Halfhill Inn, log her, got zombified immediately, had to try my best to die somehow … this is no fun, sorry

The reason is obvious: they don’t think the event is engaging enough to stand on its own and want to boost participation.

From what I can see it’s not really working though: the event is pretty much a flop at least for now.

Or… you know, pick chromietime and level at another place? there’s plenty of hubs to sell your stuff and various AH’s aside of SW/Org that can be used - where there is no zombies and no flagging, plus you get phased away from all the level 50’s.
It’s a ONE week event, it doesn’t demand THAT much to go click chromie and just level another place, gods knows that wow is Large enough for that.

NGL i didnt even notice the event had started

Litterally not seen a single zombie xD

Or ya know, jnust fix WM?

Did it ever concern you lvl 20 and lower players are getting flagged which is an bug thats not suppose to happen since you cannot access the wm button unless lvl 20?

What happened you? I didn’t quite understand. You gave very ittle info.

Well, just got into Zandalar with this character, got to the mission table, got zombified. Logged off. Yep great event.

Its called “invasion” (A little tip : turn warmode off).

Just got infected…WM off now logged for the week.

I went to action house with my bank character to buying what i need.
Got one shotted by a level 50 zombie.
Turned into a zombie.
Got one shotted by a guard.
Ghost ran back and ressed at corpse.

Than i started to think about an employee who think that and agree to develop this.

Best Regards

I love it and think its a great event. Spent hours last night outside the cathedral organising defences against Zombie raids. We were RPing that the Cathedral was all that was still standing in the city and this was our last held point. Was great fun.

The point of the event was to show the horrors as a result of the veil being breached and the removal of the Lich King.

It makes a nice change. Not everything always has to be about selling stuff on the AH or organising your next dungeon.

It is not supposed to be in WM?

If the problem was that you got auto sent in WM and sharded with the overweight of Horde in this mode, then I could understand that there was an issue, but you dont.

You just get flagged for the system to actually allow you to attack oneanother, otherwise they should overwrite the system which normally protects you from being harmed by other players, and rewrite it so that you can take “friendly fire”.

And the level 20 players, it is an E-V-E-N-T… FOR A WEEK! Everybody is in danger even the babies (lowlevels) because Sylvanas broke the LK helmet. Tough life! It is supposed to feel dangerous… for every body.

Don’t like it? Go pick chromie time and level elsewhere, or get Phased away from level 50’s.
Or… you know, dont run to the FP by passing by the AH, but run around. Stay away from Goldshire and Darkshire… Problem solved.

Same for Horde, dont run the most busy ways to Chromie, pick an alternate timeline, stay away from crossroads and Razorhill… Problem solved.

Y’all come here to the forum an cry like entitled little snowflakes, demanding to have it each your way… just because. Comparing it with IRL violations and what not.
You guys need to get over yourself, your entitlement and your first world problems. It IS not harder than to take an alternative route in the main city and pick somewhere else to be, or an alternate timeline to level in.

Everybody who levels, go pick Chromietime, and get phased with other chromietimers. No more level 50 campings

Hey bud, Do you even know Chromietime doenst make you immune or what?

You can chromy in BFA for all you care you ccan still triggered.

Managed to briefly make my way into org last night to pick up flying…but there were corpses everywhere although no zombies initially. Got up the lift, bought it, and flew around and it seemed I was pretty fortunate as there was a sizable trail of zombies heading towards VoS from the drag and occupying the upper tier of the drag.

It was pretty cool, the suspense it created when I was scrambling for that elevator, it feeling dangerous.

This is really important to try and maintain in a RPG, that the world is “alive” which means that sometimes unpredictable stuff happens and you can’t control everything. This has been WoW’s issue for too long everything in the game is fairly predictable. The levelling routes, the behaviour of mobs, the ability to swap talents and everything about you on a whim. It means everything can be known and dealt with as a known…and it dilutes the world feeling a bit authentic in my opinion.

This event brings a bit of that back, which makes sense as blizz have said SL is about trying to claw back some of the old school RP staples. The risk of death, the sudden threat of an outbreak. This is good stuff. I won’t say I support players going out of their way to grief others and camp spots purposefully, as that takes away from the authenticity of the event as well as it focuses the outbreak on specific areas and specific targets only. This said I think “opting” into it would be wrong. The world should exist and stuff should happen and we shouldn’t always have control over whether it happens to us or not, but we do have control over how we respond to it (engage or disengage). That’s important. It’s also important that blizzard take sensible steps to protect the intregrity of the ability to actually disengage tho (for example level 10s being thrown into Org after ER and then corpsecamped is really dumb, they should get a buff that makes them immune for X minutes, they could even have the NPC you talk to in Org/SW warn you of the outbreak, give you “the shot” and urge you to make your business quick which would really introduce some exciting drama right at the start- whilst giving you an opportunity to “nope out” if you didn’t want to do it at all.

Higher level players have access to other options (flying, other towns) so that’s fine. But fresh ARs or ER graduates don’t, and they should have the opportunity to work around it so they can then set up these alternatives (like visiting other towns) because being thrown into a town, being corpsecamped and having no way to escape it (with players telling you to turn WM off which level 10s can’t even do, or avoid org which you can’t do because you need to go there to begin CT) is pretty dumb i’ll say that. They should have an opportunity to temporarily dodge the event so they can make a choice about whether they want to participate or make plans to get the heck out of dodge. But the ability to literally “immune” the event permanently should not be possible.

I’d like it if more events like this turned up (not necessarily players pvping each other) but like X city is compromised and dangerous so be careful (whilst providing routes to alternatives for those who don’t want to have anything to do with it) and yes it impairs day to day activity in said main city because that’s the whole point.
If it was happening in some backwater zone there would be no point, no impact. Nobody cares if Sun Rock Retreat is getting attacked, who is affected? But if Org is attacked, and vendors disappearing, operations impaired, people care, it affects us. It makes the world feel real. It makes the world feel dangerous.

We’re supposed to be in a game where we’re part of a nation/group where we’ve lived in a world at war for years, have a perennial enemy and indeed external forces that seek to ruin us every so often. There shouldn’t be this near-constant feeling of everything being “hunky dory”, low risk, predictable and so on. We should see occasional chinks in the armour as it were.

This is exactly why I level in WM. Otherwise i’m just walking around in zones I know, feeling like there’s no danger, no risk, nothing. Just a regime i’m following. With WM there’s this risk of meeting someone I can’t predict. That alliance player, will they attack me? Will they ignore me? Will they follow me and attack when I have my back turned? Shall I attack them first to stop this? Do I think I could take them out or shall I keep a low profile? Is that a friend of theirs in the distance? Shall I go back and find that other Horde char who I saw a minute ago and see if they want to take them on? This is added excitement and authenticity when it occurs and it’s what makes an RPG worth playing- the parts of the game where it feels like an adventure instead of a workout you’re very familiar with.

I rp’ed that I was underground, moving through dark tunnels and avoiding mutants and radiation

Oh, wait. I was playing metro exodus instead of this event. And lemme tell you, that is a MUCH more pleasant experience than doing a 10 year old “event”

Thats the nice thing though. This invasion and its recycled, boring content (and forced pvp, lets not forget) have motivated me to play some older story driven games that I never finished. And im actualy loving it.

I still plan to come back here once or twice a day to check if blizzard decides to cut it short like last time. But if they dont, eh. I can wait it out

Yesssss! Something fun for a change! Going to be a wild week

My experience with this event was: go to Nathanos for this week’s weapon: warmode off.

Zombie attacks me (with warmode off??)

I can’t hit zombie back because im not flagged for warmode. I can’t mount or heathstone because zombie keeps me in combat.

I die.
