if I could have one question to the chief WoW designer:
- Why did you create a single player game and sell it as an mmo?
Couple months ago people did ask, how to level. I had lots of single player experience so I said, the 48-60 experience is nice and versatile, just keep zone hopping and maybe get some rested bonus. Plenty of quests and some reputation on the side.
WRONG.
Sure, the early experience is so much in the designer’s face, they responded with quick respawns, and larger zones where you can fit 2-3 players at least.
From level 40 onwards, the best thing you can do is dungeon spam. Absolutely everywhere there are swarms of people, even on a Sunday early morning.
There is a quest to kill 3x8 creatures. There are 16 spawns grand overall in the entire zone. Not an issue on a single player server. Here, it can take hours. In my case, 2 months.
Switch zones, they say. Where? To the other place full with people?
Nah. The good places are those without any quest, reputation, or even valuable items. The wolves in Felwood or Plaguelands, chimaera in Winterspring, stuff like that.
So really, the world is pointless.
It’s a historical theme park so I do not ask for change, but I just don’t get it how could it be such a fail design.
Yes, there are 2x (or more) as many players on Mirage Raceway as it’s prototypical.
Classic could have been a resounding success, given that many players left due to reasons, like me, letting 4 months out of my 6 month sub run out without playing. Other friends, too. And the servers are still too full. That’s a proof to me.
Don’t respond, I just need to vent. I play 2 hours a week so I pay for forums.
