Why is it that we are unable to refund our great vault choice if we made a mistake. For example, I made a rookie error of buying a second pvp trinket, thinking it was an emblem. I’ve not really pvp’d and didnt really understand the unique equip nature of the items. Looking at the set bonus, it seemed I was picking the correct thing. Alas, it was not.
Why are we then unable to refund the choice as we do at the vendor and choose something else within a certain timeframe?

Mate, they removed pvp vendor in BfA with an explanation: “new players cant find it and buying right items is too confusing”

… really…? Like, how failsafe do you want them to make it? You already have multiple choice to give you more chance to get good loot. If there is still none, you can get currency instead of loot. Do you want them read it for you or what?

There’s literally a confirmation box to make sure you don’t accidentally click the wrong button.
Try messaging a GM. Unlike most posters I sympathise. Your mistake is easy to make if you don’t know how it works

Look at it → read what it is → click on it → click on confirm. Really complicated. They even added a bar that says which loot spec you are in. At this point, it’s a fact that they can’t do more.

Yes the mistake is on me. Its my bad. I get it. Why are people crying? I’m not raging at all. I acknowledge this is my mistake. My bad… its on me… IM stupid… what more do you want me to say?

Theowald… did you read the op? Your point is moot. I thought I was very happy with my choice, as I clicked it. It wasn’t until after I had chosen, that I realised my mistake.
Teann: Yes they can do more, they can allow you to refund the item and pick another one. If not, I’d like to know why? Which is what this thread’s purpose is. They could in fact do more to explain how the gearing system works, I didn’t understand the unique equip flag on this item. They let you do this with vendors… so why not the vault? You argument reminds me of republicans in the US arguing against a socialised health service.
Why would Blizzard REMOVE vendors to rectify this problem? My question was… Why cant I refund an item I just bought as a weekly reward. This seems to be quite a big decision and punishes any misunderstanding of the mechanics of the game. Yes, git good, read more etc etc. But I don’t see the logic in being able to refund a currency vendor reward, and not the weekly reward?
As a footnote, I don’t understand what this thread has got to do with removing vendors? I didn’t use a vendor to choose this item and IF I HAD, it would have rectified the issue because I would have been able to refund it and buy something else. Hence, vendors SOLVE this issue completely and are a great addition. The great vault as a weekly reward, as it stands, does not.

Blizzard removed the vendors because “people found them confusing”. Now with threads like this, Blizzard will remove the Great vault and replace it with one RNG item again, because “people find it too confusing”.

Your logic is flawed.
I understand the great vault 100%. I understand the mchanics and the choices and how it works. I think its great.
I didnt understand the unique equip nature of the trinket i bought. Thats on me. It would be great if there were some explanation in game as to how these work, but there isn’t, aside from the kind of obvious writing on the item itself. So yea, still on me.
My question still stands. Why aren’t we allowed to refund and choose again within a certain timeframe like with a vendor?

No, he didn’t, because there was no choice anyway. It was just chest of disappointment.
I think OP makes a good point. We can do it with any other item for two hours or until equipped. Should be the same here.

Sure! Lets bring back weekly BFA chest, where people either get lucky or totally unlucky because people find choosing between 3 options very confusing.
Do you ask the icecream vendor for a refund because the colour of the icecream confused your choice?
Some people are too dumb to have choices between 3 items, sounds confusing, be grateful you have a choice. Stop whining.
Eh, you made a mistake and (hopefully) learned from it. Big deal. It’s just one piece of gear. Better luck next week. Don’t really see why anything should be refunded.

Big deal yea, weekly item reward… let us refund it like you can at the vendor. Again, you are arguing against building safeguards into the game. I don’t get it. Forum full of elitist republicans.
They could even put “Type AGREE” before you accept your reward and you’d still get people saying they made a “mistake”

Yes, you would. Because like in my case I was perfectly happy with my choice until I tried to equip the item.
Because Blizzard assumed that people aren’t total dum dums
