Great Vault

Rant: The great vault gambling is bad, and you should feel bad.

Last season I did 3 slots of m+ for myth track every week after the first week. Still had hero tier hands and trinket by the end of the season. I did 3 slots of Hc every week after week 4 No spymaster.

Just come back to the game last week so ive done two vaults. Both gave me sockets.

At this point I just dont want to open the vault, but it’s the only way to get myth track gear with m+. Just give me a 5% chance of myth gear when I get to +15s or something and I’ll be happy.

Gambling :frowning:

Wouldn’t that still be gambling but with terrible odds?

95% of the time you will get nothing. The 5% of the time you get something the odds are high that it will be something you don’t need.

Right now there is a 100% chance you won’t get a Mythic item in a +15 at all, so there is no gambling.

Its not gambling its a bit of bad luck protection.

So boohoo you had 2 out of 16 slots not mythic… so what?

Its bad luck protection for raiders. For m+ its the only source.

Soo u had option to choose from 2 from 6 mythic tier items ( assuming u were fresh/s1 geared since u just came back as u said) and nothing was even a little better than what u already had ?

U my guy are either lying or the most unlucky person ever

You are absolutely right. I’m playing a game where the loot system has an intrinsic gambling component. I guess in such i system I would much prefer something where I can affect my chances of acquiring gear. Ie a small chance I can redo as much as I want. Not something fixed once a week. Sure id much more prefer getting a token each run and then buy gear.

I mean I was happy the first week of s1 because I got ara-Kara sacbrood. But I just don’t like the whole expectation into either happiness or despair.

A 5% chance at even getting loot just won’t help much though. You’d get an item ~1 out of 20 dungeons.

Certain things have lower drop rates. I have enough ToP rings to wear one on each finger, yet suff like weapons I hardly ever see drop.

So the chance of you getting what you want is probably significantly south of 1%.

Both weeks was stuff that I could already craft for better dps. (Crit or verse on all) Mind you I had close to full myth last season gear, and good friends to do 10s with. I got full hero gear, and crafted all 375 pieces available within a few days.

Which leaves only tier pieces, neck, ring, cloak and trinkets, so the odds were indeed lower. I am not trying to be decietful.

I’m playing dueform-ravencrest. Did’t notice I was posting on classic char

As much i disagree with the rng vault , we need a reroll option once a week , sometimes your vault get so bricked , its very silly , i had 3 bad full trinkets on my weekly m+ myth track vault , so i had to take a socket , at least once you reroll your bad vault , you won’t have to wait a whole week for all your effort just for socket with a 150 secondary stats.

Don’t worry, Dinar will fix this. Oh wait…

I am pretty sure they will mess up dinar in some way at launch at least

Do you know what gambling is. You lose nothing.

You get gear for free. Make a thread about welfare gear instead, it’ll be more accurate.

Craft an item. There is no problem bar one that you’re making up.

For M+ its the only source.

And the “so what” is important. I am also really high ilvl. Cant complain.

But I had extremly bad luck with the vault this season and got most of my gear Haste/Mastery. Which are the 2 lowest performing stats.

And I am starting to feel the effects of improper itemization at the moment. So I have to find work-around. Crafted items (with 3 ilvl lower)… and catalist charges for boots and belts and things like that. Which I dont have enough, because I did not get a single tier set on the vault… so …

Basically, its a really frustrating thing and I get OP.

Plus. This Bullion discussion gets me on my nerves. So I have a strong bias right now. And what I would consider “tolerable” in the past is no longer acceptable for me. Not after the massive “kick in the nuts” from Blizzard.

Just get crafted gloves unless those gloves complete 4/4 set bonus

And yeah pretty stupid i did not get bracers at all in season 1 and BiS trinket 3 weeks before season end.

Pretty sure gambling requires a cost which isn’t present for the vault.

They already kinda did tbf

The vault requires time invested, which has historically been seen as a resource as valueable if not more valuable then gold by most civlizations that have existed on earth and used a currency system like coins to assign value to an intermediary object to simplify trade and barter.

How this works:
If I keep getting bad vault results, I will stop investing time into unlocking the slots, which means their metrics will show less engagement as I for example switch to RP only mode (where others might just quit the game) which will make the game harder to develop as they lose sight of what people want through collecting and reading metrics.
