Just make your own group. I make runs for low-geared friends all the time and nobody ever complains about their GS

i sway those hc+ with level 70 blue gear, pvp gear and a few entry purple on my destruction warlock on pyrewood ally, there is no real need for any gearscore.
You will fall on the edge lord when daily quest is reset just join a few hours later you always manage to get invited and complete your quest easy.
I get what lots of people are saying but I had a bad time on my Hunter. Only got to level 80 last week, wanted to get heirlooms to level classes I’m actually interested in. All of us just wanted a normal Heroic but people would often a) get mad when we get to the instance and realise they didn’t read we were looking for people for a regular heroic and b) insist that we try HC+ … but insult our gear while we do it.
Every HC+ I did was against my will because I just wanted emblems.
Edit: My GS was alright though because I capped Honour before I dinged 80.
Guildies can say “thank you”, too - it just so happens that helping them not only feels good but useful as well. To put it in other words, if I feel like helping somebody, might as well be a guildie who I will be spending a lot of time playing with rather than somebody I’ll never meet again.
There are 5 types of people in the world.
Type one: They see a person lying prone on the pavement, and stop to see if they can help.
Type two: They see a person lying prone on the pavement and don’t personally help, but will call the emergency services.
Type three: They see a person lying prone on the pavement and just step over them as they’re ‘in their way’ and don’t want to get involved as it will take too much time.
Type four: They see a person lying prone on the pavement, and stop, point, sneer and laugh at them for being ‘weak’, before grinning and moving on.
Type five: They see a person lying prone on the pavement and think: “How can I exploit this situation to my advantage?” before using the opportunity to rob the person.
Most of the people responding to this thread are in the Type Three category, with a few Type Ones for good measure. Could have been a heck of a lot worse, none of this behaviour is absolutely terrible, but it’s maybe a bit on the selfish side.
This earned a chuckle, because it sums up the mentality quite well.
With how much people use gearscore for everything they are surprisingly clueless about it.
It confuses me why multiple people here try to justify that heroic+ is a great entry content, just because someone people dont have problems to find others who carry them or pvp battleground gear/boe pve gear are available too to push gearscore.
Gearing by doing normal heroics worked much better back in the day, especially after RDF replaced the specific daily heroic quest, so all normal heroics were actively played. Right now, without RDF and with heroic+, players are forced to skip normal heroic progression, since grouping for heroics works in only in theory, because its hard to distinguish normal heroics and heroic+ in the custom tool and the overall low activity for normal heroics.
Overall heroic+ replaced normal heroic activity and this is much worse for early gearing. There was no need for naxx gear in 5man content, thats harder than naxx, especially because it destroyed the activity/accessibility for the most important max level content for casual players.
If I see a person lying prone on the pavement IRL, I’ll help because it’s something important. This is just a damn game, and I play to have fun myself with my friends, not to bore myself just to help a random stranger (not to mention I wish you could finish certain hc+ runs in the time it takes to make a phone call to 911 or w/e).
To put it in other words, your inability to find a dungeon run is a lot less important to the rest of the world than you having a medical emergency ever would be.
Keep up or get left behind
Is this a hard concept for some people?
What a stupid Statement.
You help the random player
The randonplayer “carries” the healer the next day.
The healer “carries” a raid
You quit
You come back
Healer carries your lazy belly to catch up
Big pve guys are going to a certain realm
People follow then
Big pve guy “carry” the followups
Followups “carry” the alts of the pve guys.
Lets face the situation you are creating wiht your attitude:
You get boosted
You dont boost anyone
Story ends.
Which raid? If he’s not in my guild, then he’s not carrying any raid for me.
LFM ULDUAR 25 NNC SR3 W ME
this raid
Yes, it’s just a game, but the people who play it are real people.
You’re using the same logic as ignorant parents or spouses who tell their kids/spouses to ‘just get off the game and help with chores’, when they’re in the middle of a raid - not comprehending that doing so would be letting down 24-others who are relying on them.
Over and above that you’re using the classic ‘dead dog fallacy’ to illustrate that gamers are ‘less important than accident victims’ as a result of the severity of their situation.
Typical egocentric individual. You are only willing to help someone if its benefiting you in the long run. How about spread some love instead, and not ask anything in return? Doing something good to other people is never a waste of time, be it ingame or irl.
On top of that:
I don’t get boosted.
So what? I already spend 40 hours of my time helping real people with their problems for very little reward. At least my free time is something I’d rather use for myself and the people I care about. Is that truly hard to understand?
Go ahead and do it yourself instead of demanding so from others, then.
For some people: Can you explain to me?" If you feel you are wasting time in the dungeon if you take dps with lower gear (if it is doable but it will take a little bit longer). So you don’t enjoy doing that dungeon at all? If few more minutes there is so big suffering why would go there in the first place. Only because of some pointless minor upgrade? It seems like you are just an addict, and you can’t stop playing even if you hate every moment there. Form whatever group you want, but I can’t imagine myself playing a game as a hobby in my free time, which I hate. If I don’t feel like doing a dungeon or playing BG,I don’t do them (no matter what is as a reward). Because everything is waste of time if you dont enjoy it. Maybe I am crazy, IDK.
So what if they do or don’t have a plane to catch? They don’t owe you anything, whether this be in a video game or in life. They signed up to play a game whose design has a goal that enables people to play the game how they want and with who they want. If they want to play solo, that should be fine. If they want to play with a group of friends and not randoms, that should be fine too. Or whoever else they want to or not to play with. Y’all make these posts is just as bad, if not worse, than the people you complain about. Great, you met someone in the game you didn’t agree with. That’s how life works. Move on, find someone else - there’s plenty people around - and go about your day. You spend far too much time worrying about forcing others to do and say what you want to say that you pay no mind to the fact that you are no better than they are. You have just as much say as they do in this game and in life about what goes on. They didn’t break any rules that might warrant a ban or some such. So, please, just do everyone a favor and get over yourself and get on with your day like the rest of the adults.
No he doesnt cause your comparision was terrible. Stop comparing real life death experience with game enjoyment.
You think people would skip going to their child who just was in a car accident and are now in the hospital cause it would let 24 other people down duing a raid? Get real.
Its really not hc+ is what heroics were supposed to be, heroics were always a joke in wotlk compared to tbc and cataclysm. Classic normal strat or brd are harder.
