Guards in neutral areas are completely useless

Actually enjoying this expansion but I have found myself questioning why the guards in neutral areas even exist? I have been attacked multiple times now on my 65 warr, by people my level and level 70s and the guards dont seem to do any damage at all really?

What’s the point in having them if they arent actually a deterence?

there have been times in the past where guards hit hard but this made player vs player raids like capitals hard to do. But they shouldnt act like useless sock puppets either. the best i can say is, kite them as deep as possible into the neutral areas so more and more guards will chase them.

I liked the goblin guards in tanaris in the past. ( atleast i dont know if i am thinking of the right ones) but they would throw nets at hostile players locking them in place. Even if they dont do alot of dmg this would allow players to get away

You are right, why do they even exist? I don’t need little mosquitos swarming me and inconveniencing my hunt.

It’s a wild world baby, and if you don’t like it you can always turn on easy mode/leave war mode, because out here you better get used to rough and tumble.

To be honest, I always hated stupid one-shot raid boss guards neutral factions had in previous expansions.

This is a welcome change. They are annoying enough to make you leave the area because they root and keep you in combat, but do not kill you because you dared to PvP in Warmode.

Imagine the feeling. You beat the Lich king, you beat Deathwing, Jailer, Sylvanas… You’re max level, and you’re a hero who can slice through the hardest steel with one slash and shoot an arrow through the heart of a phoenix that’s throwing fire around… and then you get one shot from Henry, who was born a blacksmith and works a part-time job as a guard in the city and has a glass of milk every morning before he goes to stand still for 24 hours in some place.

whats the problem with that? theres so many random mobs in the world hitting harder than the guards wich should be good fighters to defend the people inside. so are all those bears and goats i killed this expansions stronger than deathwing as well? then there is no excuse for guards being so weak

There is a warmode. Anyone who has it on is going to get slapped right and left with a guard watching.

yep but even warmode should have some relatively safe spots like towns

Never said I wanted guards that 1 shot. Booty Bay and Gadgetzan were good examples, Do a decent amount of damage to the point where you will get overwhelmed when you aggro too many guards. Also a decent amount of CC.

I got dotted by a 70 lock managed to survive and just watched him AFK for a minute while 1 guard attacked him and didnt even drop his hp below 90% before he came back.

Thats a problem of warmode. If you don’t like it. Don’t use it. Easy.

can we have pvp realms back so i dont have to use this absolutely terrible warmode? And also thats just a complete bullshat arguement, Do you think warmode is all about guards? Because you can have critique about something in warmode not working well with hating warmode completely. Like the OP did.

Warmode is a completely boring and useless shatshow anyway, There is no fun in worldpvp if the losing side can chicken out and turn it off. And its no fun either when you can just group in in lfd and hop to a shard where your faction is dominating instead of a proper fight. Theres no random encounters with people wich might be hostile or not. Its just kill on sight with a massive group, and when you start losing you just switch shard or turn it off. So yeah if warmode is basicly just 40 man groups running around killing a handful of people over and over, then there should be some proper guards in towns to counter the inbalanced mess wich is warmode

Bring back pvp servers and world pvp!

He got his strength from forging steel and motivation from doing a boring job. Milk is a popular villain drink nowdays in the movies as well, so its a nice touch.

Instead of crying about warmode, all Blizzard would have to do is get warmode changed so that when it’s turned on, pvp players will treat other players as basic PVP gears in terms of spells and attack. Even though they’ll be wearing anything. Except instead everyone here will cry about a game feature,which simply and easily is not difficult to turn off with a single click in the faction capital. Congratulations you are wasting your time. Definitely makes warmode easier than starting a new realm and redistributing an already pretty divided community into parts because of it.

That’s why he’s motivated to beat you for three hours with a sword he can’t use because it’s just part-time job and doesn’t even take 50% of your HP. And then go home to the nearest tavern for a glass of milk for a job well done.

world pvp should be server wide and permanent. not this pussy warmode wich you can turn of and most people only do in groups.

picking a pvp server is making the choice of enabling pvp. Thats why i picked my server and thats why i want world pvp back instead of pussymode.

You always have to find an option for everyone.

if that was true then they should have kept pvp servers so people wich like wpvp could keep going. if they wish to turn wpvp into the this giant group ganking simulator, then atleast add guards wich can help people in towns.

In this case you will get what has already happened once, that everyone who plays PvE goes to the realm intended for him and on the PvP server the company is divided into two groups. Tryhard and casual players and the rest will be there by mistake. Thus you will have more realms,less players and more disgruntled players. :clap: Congratulations

I like Henry, he is an authentic simple man, making his way in this complex world, but preserving his tastes, habits and values.
