Plus, imagine how much he’s earning in surcharges for every respawn. I’d be griefing if I were Henry.
No because people rolled on PvP realms and then cried about getting ganked and blamed Blizzard for their own stupidity of picking a PvP realm. The PvP realms should have had a “if you are a ninny who gets mad if you die in a game called Warcraft, go play on a PvE realm” warning.
So instead we have this clunky WM system, even though rarely you still have people who turn WM on and then cry about getting killed.
If you want NPCs to babysit you in the form of guards, why not just turn WM off? Then the whole world is your safezone.
yeah wonderful, and then blizz could just merge server like they have done in the past. hurray problem solved.
And here’s the problem. Blizzard did exactly this because it was still possible to resskill someone who was in a Safe Zone…there are thousands of surviving records of how much “fun” it was when you went to Wotlk for example to turn in a quest so you could have an item to raid etc. That’s why I prefer warmode.
im not talking about babysitting. in the sense of a game it makes sense that towns should be safezones. So ofcourse guards should be capable. There is a difference between guards not being able to handle a raid group and 30 guards running after a single player and not being able to kill them. Even the boars outside the town do more damage than that.
a huge number of guards should atleast be able to kill 1 or 2 players .
There are already problems with the servers and you’re asking them to do something that is virtually impossible in this state.
To be fair Voljin died to a random NPC, so it’s not too farfetched that we could
Plus we’re talking about people crying because they died with WM ON. Imagine these excuse me Casual consumers of the game. They come to the PC after a few days from work and turn on the game and don’t really want to die every 10 minutes just because they can’t play pvp and can play other games instead of sitting in the Safe Zone. Yes I also miss the old funny times because my main is rogue. But unfortunately we have to adapt to the times and players to keep the community and at least some player base of this game. Rather than crying about warmode let’s find a way to improve it in our own image and not drive players away. There is no point in categorizing the realm at this time.
That’s a nice point. Except you can also die from a regular npc. Just act like an i**ot. + He was literally Troll.
I bet he has a quick wit and as a person with blacksmithing background he offers his repair services to his victums too!
“I offer service with a smile!”
i can understand the frustration tho. with proper old wpvp you were ganked by a single player or 2. And you could get your revenge and gank them back. You had fun interactions that way. Warmode is far more frustrating than getting corpseganked in wpvp. Because the gankers is a huge group of cowards wich dont do pvp alone. they prefer to fight 40 vs 1. So yes towns need guards able to protect against these kind of cowards. warmode be be a bg with raid vs raid. Yes its an option. But Literally nobody is doign warmode alone or with just a few people.
I’m sure if you got ganked and corpsecamped by 40 people coming from other realms to your realm/shard you would get annoyed as well.
But no one would guarantee you that exactly that wouldn’t happen in open pvp. That’s exactly the problem. Instead, I’d base the warmode on the fact that friendly fire would work. Could be fun.
I can already see him on his knees in front of my main character, kneeling and holding onto the zipper of my character’s pants with a needle in his hand, mending the one point of durability he’s taken away from me after a few days of afk standing next to him before I finish him off with my rogue knife.
Aaaah…What an idyllic time with Henry…
there is no guarantee. There were some raids sometimes yes. But for warmode ganking people in groups is the norm.
Changing wm to a free for all would be a nice idea yeah. Atleast it would discourage people from cowardly ganking in groups only
They could at least try it for a week. I think it would work very well, at least in the horde-dominated realms. And it certainly wouldn’t turn into people forming groups if there was some sort of reward for soloing.
horde or alliance dominated dont really matter to this problem. People wich go find a raidgroup or party for warmode can just hop to another server if the friendly fire debuff. I feel like if you are in a group in warmode then you shouldnt be allowed to get honor or any other wm currency. Unless its some pvp specific area similair to wintergrasp
Or even easier they could make a system where the warmode would be categorized so that you could choose between modes. For example, I only want to play 1v1… I turn on 1v1 mode, I want to play with a group of a few people 3v3… Etc. Either way it would be very complicated and would lead to frequent migration of players using warmode for leveling. Which would probably lead to the lag we currently see in the Azure Span location every day. It would certainly be difficult to set rules for these types of warmode but it could be done. So a person choosing a 3v3 type would have to have a group formed… 25v25 …Raid… There would also have to be some rewards based on type and category to make it fair. And maybe if done well this would push people to be interested and learn to play pvp.
Perfection
Stranglethorn Vale… I accidentally sneezed on another player and a marksman guard blew my head off. I didn’t even realize what had happened until I checked my log.
