i have a guild with a guild bank. only MY alts are in the guild. i was full of stuff and gold. ive checked the logs and nobody has taken anything out (not a surprise since like i said, i and my alts are the only ones in the guild). EVERYTHING is missig. it noticed it at the start of TWW. ive made 2 tickets. they said they were working on it.
i dont think i will ever get anything back
(btw. i noticed that the chars name that im posting this from is in another guild that i dont use anymore. dont know if same thing has happened to that guild. havnt checked)

Probably that is it.

Anything to do with guilds, these days, seems to be classed as “niche”, which is very depressing. It’s hard to be enthusiastic about Blizzard, and the game, when guilds are just ignored.

Sometimes … especially like now at the start of an expansion when everyone should be happy and engaged … I’m spending my time, as a guild leader, organising things for guild members, farming questions, setting up events, creating guides, NOT playing the game … and basically Blizzard are thumbing their nose at me.

Sure it’s my choice – but it’s most definitely to their benefit. We have soooo many guild members who literally would not be playing anymore, if they were not in a guild. We’ve had people join us as their last attempt to find interest in the game, before ditching it, and then staying to play for years.

This stuff with the guild vaults tho, and all the other little issues that just nibble away at my ability to run a guild and play the game for actual fun, is just making it so much harder. And honestly I think it’s really unfair of them to treat us like this.

I get it … to them it’s just a pay day. We’re paying subs and yes, I’m sure the majority of them want us to enjoy playing (we’ll keep paying then, right?) and like dealing with the fun stuff like new features … but wouldn’t it be nice to have just one person in a reasonable situation at Blizzard, who actually supported guilds and fought to support us?

I just read the posts of our friends from American forums, many GL are simply in despair, and these are only those who visit the forums. Many are even thinking about leaving.

Yes it’s really sad. I mean we’ve been lucky in a way, to actually get a blue come give us updates occasionally, even it its just “we’re working on it” - when they’ve had nothing.

However, the fact that this issue has been “worked on, as a priority” now for so long, when you see so many other bugs and issues getting fixed … you do wonder what sort of priority we’re talking about here.

I get that it might be a bit more complicated than some issues, but from what I understand, from blue posts: They know what we should have, they know what we’re missing.

They have, in the past, sent items lost from the guild vault direct to the guild leader in the mail. I know that personally from when we’ve had a guild member hacked. So we know they can do that. So I really don’t understand the prevarication here.

Either they’ve realised they can’t do it, and are just hoping we’ll go away eventually, or forget, rather than actually manning up and saying something, or there are some issues generating certain “lost” items, such as those no longer in the game - but again, rather than saying nothing, just man up and tell us. We’re grown ups, mostly, we know that stuff happens and would certainly respect them more if they actually told us the truth rather than stuck their heads in the sand.

Another reset day and we still don’t have our guild banks fixed (items restored).

I think we’re going to see people leave for this issue because of how long its taking. So far me enjoying TWW has kept me here but honestly I don’t know how much longer that will be enough.

This is reminiscent of the last realm mergers. Took a while, communication wasn’t decent. Years later, we’re still on ‘dead’ servers while classic has gotten free transfers on the regular.

It’s these rather big issues that makes you think at times: why do I pay for this product?

Exactly. I was on a dead realm for years, each time they’d announce they were going to merge more realms - once it happened for ours and it helped briefly, before the realm becoming even less populated. Then they announced more merges, promising that all low pop realms would be merged. Ours was a low pop realm - yet they just suddenly stopped doing merges. There was no information, no feedback, suddenly they just stopped communicating about it.

Eventually they got what they wanted, of course … our entire guild paid for a transfer to another realm. And even that didn’t go smoothly, as they broke guild transfers at that point and withdrew it as an option, so we had some time where we were in limbo - most of us on our destination realm, but our guild not.

It is Blizzard’s mode of dealing with things they won’t/can’t deal with … just stop communicating and ignore it. I’m just hoping we’re panicking a bit and they will step up and actually resolve this, one way or another. The alternative is just cowardly.

It would help A LOT if we could get any confirmation that our missing items are accounted for and that, however long it may take, we’ll eventually get them back.

It’s a bit sad that on the forum we’re somewhat kept up-to-date, but the average player who just scrolls through the support-page is welcomed with; “yeah, we know items are missing, but creating a ticket will lead to us ignoring it.” not even noting that the initial bug was resolved and it’s all about restoring the lost items now (which may or may not happen? Super vague).

They sold the add-on! You can report on the successes. And the fact that someone, even many, will leave the game, no one will report on this for sure. The money was received, so what’s the difference?

The most unpleasant thing is that banks suffered randomly, some have everything in place, others have empty slots. And there is no information on how widespread the problem is.

One of my main concerns, on a personal level, isn’t for the items lost (although that’s bad enough), but that I no longer have trust that anything we put in the guild vault is safe.

I’ve asked several times for clarification from blues, but so far no response.

They stated a while back that they believe they’ve fixed the issue that caused the disappearing items in the first place, however, I’ve since seen multiple mentions of it still happening.

It is really difficult, as some people are still only just realising things are missing, and can’t remember when they last checked … but we do now have some people reporting that they’ve been checking regularly, and have still noticed things going missing.

As a few others have mentioned, I’m VERY surprised that this hasn’t been mentioned on sites such as Wowhead - it’s almost like they’ve been told to keep quiet about it. There has been the odd comment about the issue on other articles there, by users, but no response.

Well,

Its been some years since I posted anything other than recruitment messages on the forum but this issue is actually crazy! Every item gone. Was using it to store some of my personal items.

No confirmed Fix, no resolution, no compensation, nothing to say we can use it again safely?

Le sigh, new expansion and not sure if we can put consumables in or do we risk losing hundreds of thousands of gold…

Meh!

Yeah, by me on a couple of articles. Even told them to post something about it, comment got removed for trolling. I just said it in a jokingly way, also dumb internet needs to learn what trolling is… because these days it seems to be anything. Bit like that ‘woke’ word.

Even asked developers on Tw@tter but ofcourse you get ignored on there. :dracthyr_hehe_animated:

Haha … I’ve mentioned it once or twice too :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, I think you even replied or quoted me on there ( I post on my main there: Tofke).

I saw the first mentions of this bug back on Aug 17 and had 2 tabs of our guild bank be wiped out. It hasn’t been used since in fear that moving stuff around or adding/removing would complicate any recovery process. We get blue posts telling us that the developers are aware and working on a fix. They must have now had at least 2 full working weeks (if not more) to come up with a fix and implement it. How much time do they need? If this is down to some manager telling them to prioritise something else that manager should be fired. If the developer themself is too lazy or unskilled to come up with a solution, pull in someone else from another team or just hire a skilled temp if the teams are that incompetent to take this long to come up with a fix. If they cant fix it, start working on how you are going to make things right with users in another way.

I really hope this is not some idea a PR person came up with to stop people cancelling their subscriptions. People aren’t going to quit until we restore their items, let us string this out as long as possible?

Wasn’t there some blue post about how they were going to do something in the next downtime? That was yesterday? Just checked our guild bank and stuff is still missing and GM has not received anything in the mail

Dear developers, ups my bad, but do you have the time now to fix the guild bank please?

For a record, from what I’ve seen in 4 guild banks:

  • one obscured completely
  • two obscured partially, including this character’s one (it’s funny to see a near full tab turn into a punchcard)
  • one probably intact (on a regional server if it matters)

There’s 1 more guild but I haven’t looked in there for a while, so I don’t know what was its previous state.
