Guild Bank items gone

I recieved 3 “Hopefully Healthy”. That’s some DF food.

Seven empty tabs and that’s what I got back. “Funnily enough,” that’s one of the few items still left in the guild bank, and in the exact same amount.

I’ve been reading the forums for four weeks now, waiting for any updates, all while wondering what kind of compensation would be enough to calm me down.
Well, three pieces of rotten meat aren’t it.:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I didn’t think I could get any angrier, but this response manages to fall below even my lowest expectations. My subscription has already been canceled, citing the guild bank disaster as the reason.

It’s not just that the items are gone for good—that’s not the main issue here—but how it’s being handled. And I certainly won’t be buying any more warbandbank tabs.

2 guild banks with a huge amount of old materials, including resources for crafting legendary items. And also a huge amount of rare transmog. Everything is gone. Nothing left. There is nothing in the mail, not a single letter with compensation.

So we can lost characters, we can lost reputation bars, we can lost achievements and we can lost items from mail boxes, we can lost items from guild banks, gold, and we can also lost items from warband banks and also tabs… we can lost titles and also progression… Why play then?.. Why play this game?

Full 8 tabs guild wiped 100%, not a single items remain. 0 Mails from Blizzard. I stop play.

Tabs 3-7 of guild bank are empty and stacks of previous expansions’ materials etc gone.
No emails for missing items.

I’ve lost a fair bit, but nowhere near as much as some.
Meanwhile Blizzard have lost the confidence of many players.

I Submitted a ticket about the missing stuff from various guild banks and got the usual generic responce that did not even address the problem 20 tabs over 3 guilds stripped- nothing back!

I have 4 guild banks, each with 7 tabs. I’ve been collecting stuff pretty much since I started playing over 12 yrs ago. 2 of the 4 haven’t been affected, the other 2 have been wiped out all bar a few items each. Today I got in game mail from Blizz - giving me back some items
Resilient Leather x9, Chromatic dust x1000, Mastodon tusk x 1, Lava Beetle x 359 and Mighty Mammoth Ribs x 8. Not to seem ungrateful, but those items are a far cry from what is no longer there.
Who knows if we will ever see our items again?
How many people will give up playing because of this?
How many will hang it out and start collecting again?

So far, found from links in the US Blizzard forums, there are two articles about this now:

A section of that news article:

The results showed that a technical update intended to support cross-realm guilds had a bug that caused one of the processes to make some items disappear. Linxy stated that some of the items missing consisted of materials from past expansions that World of Warcraft’s professions still use today, but that other valuable items and gold may have been lost. Blizzard identified some of the missing items and will mail them to current guild leaders in the coming days, but added that some of the data cannot be recovered. Ergo, some lost items will remain lost forever.

The news received a mixed response from World of Warcraft players, but some thanked Blizzard for providing an update on the guild bank issues. With more Warband features planned for Patch 11.0.5 and beyond, it remains to be seen how Blizzard will prevent issues like this from reoccurring.

and also …

A section of that article:

The other news is that after a long time, some people with stuff missing from guild banks may now be fixed, but not everything for everyone…

This comes as a bit of a mixed blow for people affected. As gold makers in particular, we tend to use our banks to store lots of valuable and rare items. It’s painful to never be able to get all of them back

Well, we finally got a proper answer…

However, ‘some items disappear’ really? I have 7 guild tabs, almost ALL full and ALL items are gone…
Secondly, I wonder how the ‘incomplete restoration for some guilds’ is going to work? So will some guilds get all of their items back and some guilds won’t get anything at all?

P.S. My guild master HAS NOT received ANY emails, so all 7 guild bank tabs wiped and 0 compensation from Blizz.

All your sentences are open to interpretation… and their general idea and also the facts are these:

  1. we made a booboo which affected some guild banks partially while other guild banks were completely wiped clean
  2. it took us 37 days to make an official post about it, mostly because we only care about sales and not customer satisfaction
  3. the post gives no real guarantees to anything, as some of you will get it all back and some will probably get nothing whatsoever
  4. our way of showing you appreciation for your patience is just to say sorry because frankly, we don’t care enough
  5. there will be no compensation for the items that Blizz was unable to recover because again we do not care about the years you have taken to pay us money, play the game, and have all sorts of cool or not cool items collected in your guild banks

Refund! Every penny I’ve paid to Blizzard. I haven’t logged in since before reset this week, not even to check my vault. And to come back to the forums to see if there was any advancement on the issue, and see what’s been said is absolutely diabolical. Unless I see on here, or in an announcement from the higher ups at blizzard, that every item has been replaced in the exact guild bank slot it disappeared from, with a full apology, explaining why communication was cancelled on this issue, I won’t be logging in again. I want a full refund of everything I’ve paid, you’ve wasted my time and my money. At the very least I’m due back the 6 months left on my sub. I was already sceptical about going back for tww due to many decisions being made by blizzard lately, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and bought the physical collectors edition as usual. (Bearing in mind that i still had a rolling 12 month sub ticking away while i wasn’t playing). I’ve never seen the game in this bad of a state and to now be told ‘oh we’ll mail you a few random items that may or may not have been in your guild bank’, just isn’t good enough. I’m cancelling my sub now and if there’s no changes, when I check back here in a few days ,to how they are currently trying to fob us off, then I’ll be putting in a ticket to be escalated, for a full refund. Blizzard have learnt nothing over the last 20 years. And trust me, this needs to be resolved properly before the 20th anniversary stuff. Because even if they make the right decisions after the 20th anniversary stuff is missed, no amount of begging pleading and handing out candy will be enough to bring me back. I highly recommend that everyone affected by this issue does the same, this game used to be my home, my escape, my safe place, blizzard have destroyed that, they’ve come in, robbed my home and taken a huge dump in the middle of the floor. Trust is hard to earn and easy to lose, Blizzard have a lot of work to do if they want to retain any customers. The addiction factor of the game can only get them so far.

I guess i’m one of the lucky few. From my 9 different guildbanks with 57 tabs in total, one was affected missing all the cloth from the first tab and some of the leather of the second tab. I got some of the cloth refunded. All in all i can’t complain. As far as I could tell all the other banks are still ok.
I’m just glad this issue is fixed and for Felranys to have kept us updated.

But it isn’t fixed. Fixed would imply that everyone effected had received all their missing items back and so far I haven’t seen a single person who has said that they have.

Ah my bad, i should’ve explained that i meant by fixed that the guildbanks are working.
For me that’s enough. I’m just glad they found the bug and fixed that.

Unfortunately even that assumption is incorrect. They didn’t say in their recent announcement that anyone would get it all back. I’ve not seen ANY reports of anyone getting it all back (other than some rumours that streamers may have been given special treatment and had their missing items replaced within days of the initial problem).

They’ve done a proper “corporate announcement” where what they actually say can, from certain perspectives, be read to mean something else. Keeps us all nice and quiet, right?

I have received a fraction of the missed items in the guild bank from the postmaster. The question is whether the rest will come back at all and how to deal with it?

Some data cannot be recovered. Therefore, some lost items will remain lost forever.

Black and white. It’s clear to me.

It must be possible to check back before the problem occurred or is all the data regarding the guild bank’s content deleted. It may not be possible to retrieve the latest events in the guild banks, but it should be possible to look back to before the crash.

Then the situation is EVEN worse than it actually is. If some were treated better than others especially streamers that’s why they are silent about it.
BLIZZ IS TRYING TO COVER THIS UP!

Players such as us that have been affected should be as vocal about it as it is possible. Comment every youtube or twitch comment, yell about it in trade chats in game. Tell your stories wherever you can! If we are silent they will ignore us just like they have for the last 40+ days already.

Either they restore as it was completely or they need to compensate us properly: I want the gold cap of 9.999.999g sent to my guild vault! NOW!
