The Warscreams ( Guild Orc Warsong )

THE WARSCREAMS

Covered in bloody paint, enraged red gleams in their eyes, the Warscreams descend with thunderous hellish howls upon their foes leaving only death and desolation behind them. They are the embodiment of the warrior enthusiasm of Clan Warsong, heirs to the fiery flame of Grommash Hellscream and the unpredictable, indomitable fury of the Orcs. Worshipping war, the Spirits of the Warsong and the Elements, the Warscreams are an unstoppable force when the drums of war resound and the clamor of battle calls. They are a scourge which descends in a frenzied, warlike fervor on anyone who has the misfortune to cross their path.

Seeking ever greater glory, loot and challenge, these warriors roam the forests of Ashenvales and the rest of Azeroth hunting down any potentially worthy foe. They spread their vision of the warrior path of the Warsong to their fellow Orcs, offering the dead of their enemies to the Ancestors and howling in the hope that Grommash himself could hear their glory.

—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Warscream Origins

In the beginning, the Warscreams were just mere Warsong marauders who had no name and no special place within the Warsong Clan. They were simple outriders who plundered for the Clan and fought for it. They were nothing more than nameless, invisible orcs in a teeming mass of warriors. They served no purpose, no philosophy, no ambition except to simply obey and serve their clan without thought or hesitation.

These marauder warsong nevertheless quickly experienced several successes during particularly difficult and trying campaigns. The tensions within the Clan with their Centurion put them to the test and quickly they began to cling to ideas in order to bear the weight of the exhaustion and challenges in front of them which often seemed insurmountable.

They made a habit of motivating their will and their spirits through the glorious tales of Grommash Hellscream. The Chief of the Warsong was himself a powerful marauder who sowed chaos and death among the lands of the Ogre Empire. And despite the difficulties and dangers, despite the numerical superiority and strength of the Ogres, Grommash Hellscream’s enthusiasm and assurance were such that it created the legend of his iron will. Soon, this realization encouraged them to follow Grommash’s example. To act like him. To understand their former Chief. To understand these teachings through his legend.

But the deeper they went down this path, the more they realized that their Clan was suffering from recent defeats to the Alliance and the instability of the Horde. This instability had weakened the determination of many Warsong and some, like their Centurion, took advantage of it to act in dishonorable, cowardly, underhanded ways.

Through their campaigns of plunder and war, these warsong marauders had become aware of this fact. And so they immersed themselves in the ancient traditions of Clan Warsong, its reverence especially for Fire and Wind, for the Spirits of Warriors and the importance of Grommash Hellscream in the destiny of the Clan. And so they rejected the authority of their Centurion and decided to go their own way within Clan Warsong.

After a terrible battle with Alliance forces north of Ashenvale, the marauders had made a name for themselves. Both among their troll allies and their enemies, all recognized them as the embodiment of the Warsong. With this recognition confirming their supposition, the marauders fervently accepted their Packleader’s decision. After nearly dying from a serious injury, the Packleader had survived thanks to the dark spells of the Trolls. From his journey through the mists between the world of the living and the dead, the Packleader had returned, proclaiming that the Spirits of the Warsong supported their ambition. And that it was now their duty to rekindle the burning flames of war in the hearts of the Warsong.

Rejecting any notion of peace, the Packleader proclaimed himself to be the Warspeaker. He would be the one whose words would only herald war and conquest for his own. One who would glorify war and its consequences. The one who would defend the honor of war and its designs. As for his people, they would now be known as the Warscreams.

—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Warscream Caste

The Warscreams are not an independent organization, nor a Clan, nor a Horde warband. They are a new caste who fully belong to Clan Warsong and swear absolute loyalty to their Chieftain. The Warscreams are a caste of warsong orcs that unite those who wish to follow the path of Grommash Hellscream with a particular devotion to warfare, ancient traditions and the elements. Both warriors and mystics, the Warsceams are a conquering, warlike force who also defend a philosophy and the old traditions of the Warsong.

Obedient only to the Warspeaker, the Warscreams bring together warriors as well as hunters, assassins, pugilists, shamans, mystics and peons. They are a caste that seeks to possess some autonomy in their war campaigns and bring together all types of orcs that live within Clan Warsong. It is not the weapon a Warsong wields or their place in the Clan that makes them a Warscream but their mind and will. His allegiance to the ideas of the Warscreams and their way of life.

The Warscreams own their own lands in Ashenvale, under the banner of Clan Warsong. A village, a fort, where they gather those who wish to follow their path and enjoy their spoils. A place for warriors, for the strong and the ambitious. From their fort, they regularly lead assaults against the Kaldorei in the ancient rivalry between the two peoples for control of the thousand-year-old forests of Ashenvale. As much as for the simple pleasure of being able to fight and defeat the Kaldorei fighters and their Druids. But the Warscreams also like to go to more distant campaigns, to explore other regions in Kalimdor or the rest of Azeroth, in order to harvest more wealth and loot. As well as the pleasure of facing different adversaries and spreading their terrifying fame.

—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Warscreams Hierarchy

The Warscreams are a caste that brings together many types of warriors so that they can fight any type of battle. Although the Warscreams favor rapid and brutal assaults, they must be ready to face all forms of challenges and adversaries. And possess the necessary forces to adapt to their enemies and prey. To organize their warriors, the Warscreams have a system of social rank which is obtained according to the fervor of the Orc, their allegiance towards the Warscreams and their victories.

Warrior Ranks

  • Loknosh: Reserved for clanless Orcs who were not born among the Warsong or other Clans but desire to prove their worth through the Warscreams. Whether they are warriors, mages, shamans or even peons. If they manage to convince them, the Warscreams will then support their desire to join Clan Warsong.

  • The Marauders: They are just simple warriors, hunters, thieves and assassins who seek to enjoy the glory of battles and spoils. They do not yet show a real fervor to the doctrines of the Warscreams but they share the taste of war and blood with them. In exchange for their weapons and talents, the Warscreams allow them to obtain a portion of the spoils and renown alongside them. They have no voice in the decisions of the Warscreams but they are respected as brothers and sisters of Warsong Clan and War.

  • The Bloodhowlers: Once mere Marauders, these are ones who have realized the vision of the Warscreams. They show a particular fervor towards War, the Warsong Spirits and the Elements of the Clan. Bloodhowlers are known to let out countless howls on the battlefield. Howls of war, rage or defiance in the face of their enemies and in the hope of being heard by the Spirits of the Warsong to obtain their favor. A testament to their warrior fervor, Bloodhowlers routinely cover their faces and skin with bloody paint.
They are the warrior force of the Warscreams, the embodiment of the warrior fervor of the caste and a role model for Clan Warsong and the Orcs to follow. They have a voice in the decisions of the Warscreams.

  • The Outriders: Particularly enthusiastic and loyal to the doctrines of the Warscreams, they are among the most honorable and respected. They possess the privilege of riding mighty war wolves into battle, forming the charging force of the Warscreams against their foes. When the Outriders launch their assault, the enemy can only pray to their pitiful deities and creeds to bear the impact of the charge upon their ranks. Among the Outriders there may also be two Wardrummers who bolster the fervor of the Warscreams with their glorious chants and the echo of their war drums.
They are considered the champions of the Warscreams, they possess an important voice in caste decisions and regularly advise the Warspeaker and his Raiders on matters of war.

  • The Raiders: Dominating the battlefield on their mighty war wolves, the Raiders are the Hands of the Warspeaker, his closest battle brothers and sisters. They are the embodiment of the Warsceams ideal: Absolute loyalty to their doctrine, total fervor for war and battle with the wisdom and strength of Warsong. They are the Warspeaker’s direct advisers, those with whom he shares his wishes and desires before anyone else. They are both his elite warriors and his elite guard. They regularly lead the Warscreams in place of the Warspeaker when necessary and are quick to take the initiative to bring ever more glory and loot. They watch over the Warscreams and guide them on the battlefield to victory.

The Warscreams aren’t just warriors who fight for the sake of killing and getting lost in bloodlust. They are Warsong who believe in a true warrior philosophy, who seek to follow a path where wisdom is present and where the gaze of the Warsong Spirits as well as the Elements judges them at every moment. Thus, the Warscreams also unite a spiritual heart that watches over the path of the Warscreams and the honor of its warriors. As much as he can unleash the power and fury of the Elements upon their foes.

Mystic Ranks:

  • The Stormaxes: Despite the power of the elements, these Shamans cannot deny the warrior instinct that drives their hearts. Rather than turning away from frontline battles, they chose to stay on the frontline wielding their powerful weapons of war and using the elements to strengthen their fighting skills.Using enchantments, blessings and powerful spells, they can sow death on the battlefield alongside the warriors of the Warsceams and strengthen their fervor with the elements.
Highly respected by the Warscreams who appreciate their warrior aspect despite their link with the elements, the Stormaxes echo the ancient War-Shaman of the Warsong who wielded axes as well as the elements. They were then famous for wielding axes with the vivacity of the wind and the power of storms. Thus, the Stormaxes of the Warscreams are the link to those ancient traditions of the Clan they so yearn to restore. They have a very chosen voice within the Warscreams.

  • The Shamans: These Warsong turned entirely to the Elements and the Spirits, turning their backs on the battlefield to devote their efforts to knowledge, wisdom, and communion with these spiritual forces. They are the guardians of the ancient rites of the Warsong, they are the ones who prepare the remedies for the Warsceams, the blessings before the battles, the rituals of life within the caste. But they are also the ones who question the path of the Warscreams, the lessons to be learned from the lives of Grommash Hellscream and the former Warsong and who advise the Warspeaker on the path to follow for theirs.
However, they are Warscream Shamans. They have no regard for peace, for them harmony can only be found in war and adversity. They possess within them the same fervor and indomitable enthusiasm for war as the other Warscreams. And when the hour of battle has come, they stand behind the front lines on their wolves to summon the powers of the Elements against the enemies of the Warscreams. Storm, fire and thunder! They are the spiritual heart of the Warscreams but also its most powerful weapon of war. They have a very important voice in the decisions of the Warscreams.

  • Farseer: The Farseer is the High Shaman of the Warscreams who sits alongside the Warspeaker. He is the embodiment of the wisdom, Spirits and Elements of Clan Warsong. The Farseer is the Doctrine Master of the Warscreams, ensuring that the Warscreams adhere to these doctrines as well as the Warspeaker. With the help of his shamans, he continues to strengthen the warrior fervor of the Warscreams and to deepen the teachings of Grommash Hellscream, the Spirits and the Elements.
He is also the Keeper of Rites, performing the many rites and rituals that make up the spiritual life of the Warscreams. Thanks to these rites, the Farseer watches over the favors of the Elements as well as the Spirits. Necessary support to ensure victory for the Warscreams in their many battles. As well as the power of Shamans and Stormaxes during combat. The more the rites are performed regularly and with dignity, the more the Elements will be willing to grant their power to the Orcs.
The Farseer is a unique role that is granted to the Shaman who was able to find the perfect balance between their warrior spirit and shamanic wisdom. They embody perfection for the mystics of the Warscreams, both a guide and a mentor to them. His voice is almost as prominent as the Warspeaker’s.

The Warscream Path

The Caste of Warscreams is framed by doctrines of honor, wisdom and war which represent a true law for these Warsongs. These doctrines allow them to awaken in themselves the fervor that once animated Grommash Hellscream and his closest warriors. To find the unpredictable and indomitable enthusiasm that guided the Warsong at their peak. And realize their full potential as Orcs and Warsong. To become a Warscream is to follow this path and these laws:

  • There is no peace. Peace is a lie that the weak tell themselves to maintain hope for a better future. Peace is an illusion. And a Warscream dismisses that illusion.

  • War is the only truth. War is the balance of the world. War allows the living to improve, to grow, to become stronger. It allows evolution, change and improvement. It allows the balance of the forces of the world. War is natural. War is the only way.

  • There is no greater honor and greater joy than to fight. Battles forge our legend. Battles forge our spirit. Battles forge our bodies. The Warscreams know this honor. The Warscreams know the joy of victory. The joy of bending the world to their will. The joy of killing and taking.

  • A real fight is against an enemy as strong as oneself or stronger than oneself. There is no fun in defeating a weak and cowardly enemy. The Warscreams derive no honor or joy from an enemy who is not ready to fight. The Warscreams must know how to cultivate the strength of their enemies and wait for the right moment for battle. In order to be able to draw all the glory and death possible from it.

  • The only dignified and honorable death of a Warscream is in the face of a powerful enemy. There is no greater shame for a Warscream than to die away from combat or battle. A Warscream must covet the same death as the Honorable Grommash Hellscream, A Last Stand.

  • Fire is the essence of war and ambition. A Warsceam must maintain the pyre of their soul through their cries and howls. Through their laughter and call for war. They must embody the indomitable and howling fire of battle. And feed their enthusiasm to fight or die fighting.

  • The Wind is unpredictable and cunning, the Warscream must be just as much. He must give free rein to their passion, free rein to their desire for war and violence. To their instincts! Be as unpredictable and cunning as the wind.

  • The Warscream respects its ancestors, its champions and its heroes. They must show their respect to the ancient warriors and sages of the Clan, seeking at all times to understand their teachings and follow in their example, honoring their memory through their deeds, words and victories!

  • The strong dominate the weak! The Warscreams only respect the strong, those who are strong in body, blood and spirit. They should never show respect to the weak, the cowardly and the dishonorable.

  • The Warscreams are one with their own and Clan Warsong! Whoever insults or dishonors a Warscream, insults and dishonors everyone else! And whoever challenges the Warsong, challenges the Warscreams!

OOC

Warsong Marauders are now changing their name to The Warscreams! It’s a natural conclusion to the evolution of our RP over the course of our campaigns, the building of our group and the bonds between our characters. It is not a new guild but an adaptation to the decisions and choices of our characters. As well as their new goals.

The Warscreams remain attached to offer RP in connection with the Orcs, as well as the Warsong, in order to embody a part of this mythical Clan in the RP which is made on Argent Dawn. We focus on coherent and simple RP in an old school Warcraft spirit rather than high fantasy. This explains an emphasis on orc traditions, through their warlike and shamanic doctrines, within the Warscreams.

This change also makes it easier to introduce roles other than just warriors. Like Beastmasters, and putting greater emphasis on Shamans, Rogues, or other in-game classes that are available to Orcs. We also intend to try to offer content open to other players which will particularly concern Ashenvale, the Orcs, Clan Warsong and the Warriors of the Horde. Largely in thanks to the Marauders’ experience with the Whitescar Pact trolls. The fact that they realized a lot in common between themselves and these amazing trolls. Tribal/Clan RP must be protected within the Horde!

The Guild always maintains its desire to offer a friendly atmosphere in OOC where everyone expresses themselves and has fun. There are no special OOC ranks in the guild, everyone can propose what they want and express themselves freely. The Guild belongs to each of its players! Moreover, The Warscreams is the result of the desire, proposals and work of each of its members!

Recruitment is open again, after a short break of a few days to implement this change in RP and OOC. We hope to be able to meet new orcs soon and share our adventures with them in Ashenvale as well as the rest of Azeroth.

I would maybe remove your direct connection with Gorgonna. Even though she’s not a huge character story-wise, some people find it a bit iffy. Or maybe that’s just me.
Best of luck though!

Oh, and prepare for PCU backlash in 3, 2, 1…

Hi ! Thanks for all !
For Gorgona, he is obviously an important character. But she’s also the head of a clan, so she’s going to make most of the clan’s logistical decisions. An order from a Clan Chief is therefore not surprising, from my point of view. It can take the form of a letter, the form of a messenger, the form of an officer who informs!

Really cool to see an orc guild that is mono-clan. I think there’s a lot of potential for really cool RP there. This Bleeding Hollow orc salutes you!

News in bulk:

-The Guild now has its own discord. If you want the discord link, it is present on our presentation on the Argent Dawn Archives.

-Redesign of the ranks to make it less “clan”. The Leader is called the Packleader, the veterans are called the Raiders. Namely that the ranks are not fixed, they can be modified in the future according to the role of the players in the Guild. This is also the advantage of a guild that wants a limited number of players!

-Beginning of active recruitment. And preparation of the first campaign.

The Marauders gathered on the eve of their first outing as part of Mork the Orc’s warband. Tribute was collected, blessings were given and a feast was enjoyed before two of the Marauders battled for the glory of carrying the warband’s banner into combat. With Thrul’gosh the New Blood winning the honour, the Marauders’ destination was revealed: the Southern Barrens.

After long days prowling the dusty, barren paths of Orgrimmar, various marauders came to Mork to answer his call and his promises of plunder and glorious death. Along with their mighty war wolves, these raiders bent to Mork’s will and waited until they set out on a campaign of plunder.

The Gathering

An ancient Warsong tradition among its marauders was to hold a muster before each raid campaign. This gathering was an opportunity for marauders to feast, eat and drink as much as they wanted, before starting a dangerous campaign where they could lose their lives. During this gathering, the Chief Marauder announced the place where he would lead his people.

Faithful to this tradition, or surely faithful to the idea of being able to eat like an Ogre, Mork decided to respect it with his marauders. His band of marauders had no loot yet, so they couldn’t stay in Orgrimmar any longer without risking starvation. They had to begin their looting now. Mork then announced the Gathering to his people.

Marauders left Orgrimmar for the barren, crimson lands of Durotar in search of a feast worthy of the Gathering. They then decided to go to one of the orc farms where wild boars were raised. Warsong marauders have never had a good reputation. They are said to be barbaric, brutal, cruel and violent. Unfortunately, Mork did not intend to change this state of affairs with his people. T

he Packleader sent three of his marauders, Tharbeck, Thrul’Gosh and Gara to intimidate the farmers and obtain boars for their Gathering through threat and fear. Once done, the marauders were relieved to see Mork’s satisfaction with them.

So the Packleader led them to the jagged, dry shores of Durotar, where the Gathering would take place. They set up a camp made of primitive animal skins, bonfires and tables. Mork, reluctantly, allowed their Shaman, Gara, to bless their weapons and their campaign by invoking the Ancestors. Then they feasted, ate and drank.

Mork then announced that one of his marauders would have the privilege of being the standard bearer during their raiding campaign. This marauder would have the honor of carrying the banner of the Horde into battle, protecting it and covering it with the blood of their enemies. To obtain this right, the volunteers would have to duel and triumph over the others. Tharbeck and Thrul’Gosh volunteered and fought savagely. It was Thrul’Gosh who obtained this right and became the first standard-bearer of their band.

After this fight, Mork informed his marauders of where he would lead them. Mork would guide them into the heart of the Quilboar territories, into the southern Barrens beyond Desolation Hold. There they would hunt down the villages of the Quilboars to plunder them, kill each of their inhabitants and burn them so that only ashes and desolation would remain after their passage. Only when they had enough loot to feast on for days would they stop.

The Departure for the Crossroads

At the dawn of this beginning of the week, an ominous war horn sounded in the Valley of Honor. He was accompanied by several raiders on their mighty war wolves, some covered in war paint, their faces wearing fierce, impatient grins. Their ruthless and savage pack charged towards the gates of Orgrimmar, disappearing into the rising sun towards the Barrens.

OOC

I would like to start by thanking everyone who has crossed our path so far. The Guild has found a truly benevolent and lovely welcome. Despite our proud, loud and clumsy barbarians. I love you.

Well ! Enough honey. We had the joy of welcoming many recruits. Players who share the desire to have fun embodying brutes and barbarians among warsong marauders.

We have a lot of fun, it’s even sometimes difficult to continue a RP as I sometimes laugh. I’m really happy with these encounters, and that bodes well for the rest of the events!

We are enough to start our RP campaigns. Thus, we officially open the first chapter of our adventure by starting a raid campaign against the Quilboars in the Southern Barrens!

A long journey that will be done in several stages. Starting with a stop at the Crossroads.I would hold summaries of animations here, to satisfy the curious!

Recruitment is still going on, rumors abound about this band of marauders and can even attract the Barrens. So if you want to try to take part in this very Warsong adventure, don’t hesitate to contact us !

See you soon ! Zug zug.

Some news :

  • The campaign in the Barrens is progressing. During their journey, the Warsong Marauders were challenged by Centaurs who decided to take revenge against them.

  • Recruitment went well! We are already closing a few places. We are now recruiting only Outriders. The recruitment of Shamans or Mages is therefore closed for the moment.

  • The Warsong Marauders improve and evolve over RP and its members. Arcweavers appeared among the Warsong Marauders and are destined to come as the Packleader’s weapons of destruction.
