[H(/N?)-RP] A Roaming Hub - Session Three - Durotar's Heat! šŸœļø

With Watrus and the groupā€™s keen investigative work, yet another threat to Desolace was waylaid - while the fresh water of the region may be funky-tasting for a while longer, the underlying disease had been stopped dead in itā€™s tracks.

Moreover, the failure of the Satyr to capitalise on their new-found centaur subordinates inspired enough unrest that they rose up against their captors. What seemed at first a strong alliance and union was shattered as quickly as it was forced.

Even all the way down on the coast, the Shadowprey elders breathed a sigh of relief. No longer would they have to fear raiders and demon slavers eventually coming for them.

With that, the first stop of A Roaming Hubā€™s second stage is over!

The next stop will be Camp Mojache in Feralas, starting on Tuesday the 30th!

As mentioned, the top post has information on how to get involved with this project, and how it works. Thank you to everyone who partook in part one!

Weā€™ve had a whale of a time so far! Thanks to the Wheel of Entropy for being excellent around Shadowprey Village, and to everyone who came by- were it for the hub itself or for other reasons! (Some of you know what, huehuehue)

Hope to see many more of you in Feralas and beyond!

With our new location tomorrow comes of course a new map, and a new primer, for people looking to get involved!

Horde kin, whether near or far,

News have recently reached us here in Camp Mojache that the Gordunni ogres are gearing themselves up to make life here, in our own homes, miserable again.

As if it wasnā€™t enough that we must safeguard our borders against Alliance and ogre incursion with numbers ever-dwindling from drafts, a sickness has started to spread among the wildlife and those who look after it, here in Feralas.

I plead, to whoever my voice may reach, Camp Mojache needs your help.

What started as a ghost hunt proved for some a reunion with an old foe, for some a terrible reminder that the forces of Undeath hold sway far beyond the Hordeā€™s Forsaken. An icy banshee-like Death Knight had taken up refuge in the Ruins of Isildien, taking many of the Gordunni ogres as her servants.

But now she had been banished, and what ogres survived reminded that it was the Horde that freed them from slavery, not their warlord. The ghosts were once more at rest, and the returning Gordunni ogres turned on their cowardly kin, whoā€™d done nothing to save them. The Gordunni Slavers have been neutralised, the survivors withdrawing to Dire Maul.

Jungles old as Feralas are bound to have surprise. Vivian and her rescue party sent for a goblin found as much, when they came upon a cave full of murmuring, but quite docile yeti.

Within they found a hermit-like old elf, who challenged them to a battle of wits. In the end, they succeeded not only in freeing the goblin and another elf from imprisonment - they beat the riddling hermit at his own game, and broke whatever spell heā€™d cast upon the yeti. With their cave now back to normal, at least the yeti might help bother the Gordunni ogres!

Though the local druidsā€™ and Zenā€™Tezakiā€™s groupā€™s efforts did not manage to wipe the Aqir entirely from their hive, the impact was deep enough that Silithid activity in the area seemed to shift considerably - away from Feralas.

At long last, the pulsing hive of bugpeople andā€¦ well, bugs, was quiet. The party that had seen the hive to itā€™s end had been grievously wounded - but they were, in the end, victorious.

And so, through cunning wit, the ogre slaving operation run by ā€œTu-Hedā€, the false two-headed ogre was ended. What started as investigating empty Grimtotem camps ended with a ploy to get the ogres to fight one another and their slave buyers, and setting the Grimtotem free.

As thanks, the Grimtotem elder - supposedly a Spirit Walker - directed his people to vacate Feralas for higher grounds, awaiting the rise of a supposed evil from the sea. The Gordunni had been greatly weakened, most of all.

In addition, a fresh face - a goblin entrepreneur - had appeared in Camp Mojache, promising great rewards to anyone whoā€™d help him clear the Feathermoon Ruins of naga.

And so, with the last tangible threat to Horde holdings in Feralas banished, Camp Mojache once again stood tall.

Rumours had flourished long before the adventurersā€™ arrival that the sprouting Gordunni Empire had tried to rally the Stonemaul ogres to their cause, swaying them away from the Horde.

Though their tendrils had dug in, the weakened state of the Gordunni had weakened their diplomatic efforts, too. In the end, all it took was for one ogre to - in a moment of frustration - reveal the Gordunni plot, and the entirety of the effort fell apart. Stonemaul Hold was once again firmly with the Horde, connecting Camp Ataya with Camp Mojache - and the Thousand Needles with Desolace.

With that comes the conclusion of our Feralas hub - and the announcement of our next stop, starting on the 15th - Gromā€™gol Base Camp, Stranglethorn Vale!

And a little teaser for the upcoming zone:

"Fellow Horde,

Reports from out of Bambala tell worrying tales about the state of Horde Settlements, here in the Eastern Kingdoms.

With the war effort having taken out much of the Horde fleet, our settlements here in Stranglethorn are limited to relying on the zeppelins for transportation of goods and - loathe as we are to admit it - supplies from the cartel in Booty Bay.

Couple this with increased aggression from everyone - the Venture Company, the local Gurubashi population, an Alliance expedition attempting to subdue the land, and even stranger, a group of pirates that skulk the jungle, looking for a rumoured treasure.

Each day we grow fewer in numbers - no thanks to how many sons and daughters we have sent to the war effort.

I beg of whoever reads this, make your way to Gromā€™gol Base Camp. Help us.

Spirits be with you,
Quartermaster Kroggon."
