Across these lands, reviled are beasts of hunger. Hated by the prey that flees, to only hide that they flee from the truth.
Wormlike, wretched, grubby, and shocking.
They are Incarnations of Hunger, which any wits trump.
II MIZUK - VULPERA FESTIVAL AND BAZAAR
Date: JANUARY 31st - FEBRUARY 2nd 2025 (First Weekend of February!)
Time: Evenings, 19:00 Onwards! Subject to change!
Location: Scorching Sands Outpost, other locations may be used as well!
Faction: Horde leaning, Any Zandalar-friendly race welcome.
EVENT DETAILS
An intermittent caravanserai and sometimes festival, hosted by a small coalition of Caravans that focus on the trading of riches and the promotion of culture and labour in more peaceful times.
This event is heavily Vulpera-focused, and I encourage people to bring vulpera that immediately fit the place, thematic and focus.
While all races from Zandalar and the Horde are welcome, we still want you to keep in mind the actual tone of the race and land and remember the circumstances around Vol’dun.
LORE DETAILS
Thanks to Exploring Azeroth: Isles and Islands we can subtract a set of new facts on the actual new context of Vol’dun, the most relevant being:
-
Rebuilt Abandoned Burrows, and the Vulpera Hideaway as settlements for vulpera. It is supposed they remain using wagons and moving around.
-
Scorched Sands Outpost as a prospective market for Vulpera and Sethrak.
-
The Faithless are basically extinct. Faithless and Devoted both go visit and may end up worshipping Akunda in order to forget and deal with the consequences of war.
-
Zem’lan slowly being rebuilt as a port for trading. We do not know by whom, if the Zandalari, the Vulpera, the Sethrak or all of them together.
-
Atul’aman was not merely abandoned. Vulpera on the cusp of adulthood dare themselves go there as a rite of adulthood. This will be relevant.
-
Other than this, it does not seem like there are news on Sethraliss or anything of the desert being any greener, so it’ll be supposed to be as it is shown.
THINGS SO FAR PLANNED
- General Bazaar/Souk
This is more transversal to the general planning of the event and will be taking place during its duration. Different Caravan wares and games around! Either planned or more sporadic, commerce and trade is a BIG part of vulpera culture. Pottery, home-brewed food ideas, general knicknacks from all over the desert and Azeroth. This will permanently be open for anyone to help and cover.
We also plan to hold some communal cooking ideas for each night! Independent to the scavenging runs, so feel free to bring ideas and ingredients of use!
-
Confrontation
A certain enemy awaits you, and no matter the festivities, His minions will be watching over you, all over the land, and all over this time…
Be prepared, the Loa of Extinction is watching.
DAILY SCHEDULING! Times TBD!
FRIDAY - Day of Dawn - More Laid-back occasions to celebrate the current status of the vulpera
- Introduction - Tales and Manifesto for a New Vol’dun
Through a story of old, we will come to relate and reclaim the legacy of those who fought for a better Vol’dun. An introduction that shall let way to a play as a means to express our new aspirations for the future.
- Gather the Sands Anew
Alongside a repetition of the previous tourney, we will offer a space to display new skills and prepare for small lessons and workshops related to skills learned either outside of Vol’dun, or otherwise local but that may have been forgotten. The idea is to give people space to teach what they can in this case,
- Storytelling
A moment to let the people just share whatever story they make up even if completely fictional or home-brewed! We’ll travel to the Oasis should the weather allow for it, to also enjoy a short time to refresh as the day cools off, and to facilitate an easier space for a suitable luncheon.
SATURDAY - Day of Noon - Lightweight events that will symbolise working and day-by-day scenarios.
- Scavenging AND trading run!
Using the different locations and resources we may find in Vol’dun, the assistants will have to reunite or make something of use for their day by day!
- Hardening Paws
Artistry introduction, including pottery, black-smithing, cooking, basketry… Whatever we bring up and whatever people want to bring up to teach and prepare other vulpera to do in the future!
- Rebuilding Our Home
Did you think we had forgotten? Did you think we had forgiven? Behold now, the most grueling task of any vulpera young or mature! Death to your Joints! And Death to your Shoulders!
We will be taking our time to help with wagon building and maintenance, alongside alpaca herding and Hyena training. This will be in tandem with the previous event!
SUNDAY - Day of Dusk - The events to tie the loose ends, material or spiritual, and prepare for the next day with a heart at the ready.
- First Woes and Wonders: The Rite of Atul’aman:
For those who dare, or would have loved to explore back in their day, we will supervise a delving into the ruins of this Temple, and indulge in our people’s nascent traditions.
- The Call of the Wailing Bone
A short walk, pilgrimage, across Vol’dun carrying some sort of icon or even an actual deceased member to protect, culminating with a general storytelling of those who existed back in the day.
OOC NOTES
-
THERE MAY BE A DEGREE OF CONFLICT-ORIENTED SITUATIONS IN THIS EVENT. If they are not your cup of tea, feel free to step aside!
-
Avoid severe IC tensions and confrontations, and take them away from the general spots should you really follow them. It doesn’t mean everyone needs to be IC friendly, but this is not a place to focus on dealing with interpersonal issues.
-
No villain characters allowed. This is not an event to disrupt freely, and you’ll be ignored should there be any attempt without any sort of warning OOC or particular permission.
-
Reduce OOC chatter to the minimum.
OOC contacts (Discord)
