The long dusty road stretches out ahead of her, the mid-day Barrens sun glaring down on them. Traveling down the path from the Crossroads to the Quillboar Krauls, Cacklespine looks to her sides, an assorted crew of all races of the Horde traveling with her. Orcs, Elves, Tauren, Trolls, and more, a more mixed crew of Horde loyalists is hard to find.
Having set out to investigate reports of caravans being raided by the pig men in the Southern Barrens, they were on their way to learn more and perhaps even find and intercept one of these Quillboar raiding parties. But as luck would have it, they found one while on route. While taking the long road, it was plain to see just off the beaten path, a dead Kodo, its absent rider having been kidnapped or fled. The supply crates, full of food and goods once meant for the Crossroads, still being looted by the mongrels.
With their prey in sight, Cacklespine raises her spear into the air and with a cry of âBlood for blood!â the Blood Howl charges. Some on foot, some on mount, with the stampeding of feett, cries of battle and Quillboar squeals filling the air. Weapons clash together and battle is joined. Just another day in the Horde, in the Blood Howl.
Welcome to the Blood Howl! Here you will find all of our information, and updates as to what we are doing in the world and our latest activity. Keeping you up to date with our latest antics in the world of Azeroth, and sometimes even beyond.
What is Blood Howl?
Originally founded in 2015, Blood Howl has been going strong as a roleplaying guild for years. Only taking brief breaks on expansion launches or intermittent short breaks between storylines.
Blood Howl is a nomadic Horde warband, consisting of any willing to fight for the Horde. Serving more as a peoples militia than a formal military unit and still holding onto the values of âThe Horde is familyâ laid out by Thrall and Volâjin in their times as Warchief despite the recent turbulent times that pushed this ideology to its limit.
Never staying in one place for too long, Blood Howl regularly travels around the world searching for trouble and problems to solve. If it benefits the Horde, weâll do it.
What kind of Roleplay can you expect from Blood Howl?
In Blood Howl, we mostly do event-based roleplay with a military and adventure theme, where we go out to solve problems the Horde might be facing. Whether they be small scale things such as helping escort a Kodo caravan through the Barrens, ever wary of roaming Centaurs, or large scale events such as when we marched into Ashenvale with the rest of the Horde at the start of the Fourth War and took part in the War of Thorns. Using a custom made roll system for our combat, with a strong focus on character customization so our players can make something unique that fits their character specifically when they are taking part in our events. We also occasionally do more casual social RP when an event is on that suits us (For example, we have been regularly going to the Koshâarg festival for many years now)
Even with the Fourth War having come to an end, the tension between the factions remains strong and there is no pretense of neutrality in Blood Howl. As a guild we are still hostile towards the Alliance, the Lion is not welcome in Horde lands.
When we can, we like to commit to the travel and the journey as well. As we travel from place to place, we are often outside of Orgrimmar for weeks and sometimes even months at a time and then we stick to that location for as long as the RP events take. While on a campaign, there wonât be any casual trips away from the group. E.G. taking a portal to Orgrimmar to have a drink.
While myself and the guild officers are regularly hosting events for the guild, regular members are also always welcome to host events themselves! Be it a one-off event based on the area of the world we are currently in, or a whole campaign and a story arc that will keep us busy for two weeks, members are welcome to run their own content if they run the idea by a guild officer first so we can figure out a date that works.
Guild Ranks
-
Follower: Those who travel with us but are not formerly a part of the Blood Howl, for example, a Troll priestess whose duties to her loa may regularly pull her away from the warband but still wishes to help when able.
-
Unbloodied: The first official rank of the Blood Howl, a new recruit who has yet to prove themselves.
-
Bloodied: Someone who has fought with us through at least one campaign and proven that they are capable of handling themselves. Then taking on and representing the ideals of the Howl at all levels.
-
Blood Blade: Those who have given exceptional service to the Blood Howl, either by slaying a particularly hated enemy or long service, are raised to the rank of Blood Blade. With more authority comes more responsibility however, and Blood Blades will be regularly chosen to lead small groups of the Howl while on various missions.
-
Blood Champion: Similar to Blood Blade, this is a rank given to those who have shown great dedication to the Blood Howl. There is no short cut to this rank, no single great victory will get one this rank. Just long dedicated service to the Horde, and many victorious battles will get you the title of champion. When the Howl moves out to battle to a large front, a Blood Champion may be chosen to be a banner bearer, and carry the standard of the Blood Howl with them, showing to the world that where they walk victory follows for as long as they stand tall.
-
Bloodsworn: Forming something of a junior officer rank, Bloodsworn hold a position of leadership and should there be no other leaders present, they are in command of the Blood Howl. Taking all of the responsibilities of the Blood Champion rank, but going even further with them.
-
Hand: The Hands are the advisors to the Blood Howlâs current leader, and speak with all of the authority of the chieftain. An order from them is the same as an order from the chieftain. As hands are few in number, they are given a title that reflects their skills, for example before becoming Chieftain, Cacklespine was named âHand of the Huntâ.
-
Chieftain: The de facto leader of the Blood Howl, but running the guild as equals along with the Hands. Formerly known as Jin when the title was held by a Troll, it was renamed to Chieftain after an Orc took charge.
Guild Rules
-
No OOC in any in-character channels such as /say or /yell, if you need to make corrections use /p, /raid or /guild!
-
Keep up to date with guild affairs using the guild Discord (link provided on joining), as we regularly post dates and times for our events with plenty of notice on there, and the Discord server is our main line of communication within the guild outside of the game.
-
Real Life takes priority over WoW, weâve all been there and completely understand. But while we are quite relaxed with activity requirements, we typically expect players to RP with us at least once every two months. If two months pass without reason given, you will lose your in character guild rank but will probably be allowed to stick around in our community and Discord server to keep in touch and hang out OOC.
-
People with the rank of Unbloodied upwards are usually required to be journeying with the guild In Character. IRL issues are obviously an exception, but if you want your character to take time apart from the guild in character while we are traveling or in the field, you will need to ask an Officer first.
-
Do not violate the Blizzard TOS. This goes beyond our jurisdiction, but so long as you follow Blizzardâs rules for what is and isnât acceptable in public channels youâll be just fine.
-
And most importantly, be respectful and treat others how you would like to be treated. Use common sense and be kind to others, at least OOC.
Recruitment
Message Cacklespine, Yorah, or Nyxiasus in-game and we can arrange an In Character meeting. After seeing you roleplay, and deciding that your character fits our guild concept, you will be welcomed in as Unbloodied, or as a Follower in some cases.
Any Horde race is welcome in Blood Howl, from Orcs to Elves, if they are willing to bleed for the Horde they have a place among us. This includes irregular races such as Horde aligned Ogres or Taunka, so long as they have made the blood oath to serve the Horde.
