[H-RP] Highmountain Stands

Good morning everyone!

Following the defeat of the naga, the group returned to our normal activities. However, the peace did not last. On one stormy night, we went out to investigate the strange lightning in the Fields of An’she and to our horror, we found that two of the tents there were struck by a lightning bolt and were quickly catching up fire. We managed to put out the fire and rescue a mother, her two calves and her father and lead them to the relative safety of the nearby cave.

Having spotted the shadowy figure who was likely behind this violent thunderstorm, we devised a plan of attack and proceeded to taunt the shadow to face us in combat. Surprisingly, the plan worked, but soon we realized that we got more than we bargained for as before us landed a gigantic storm dragon. We charged forth and the battle between us was soon in full swing. After what seemed like an eternity, we managed to bring down the beast and stop the storm after which we brought the corpse and the frightened family to Thunder Totem where they’d be given shelter.

After several days, we had decided that the time had come to venture out of Highmountain once more. We knew that our Kalimdor cousins were going through tough times with their High Chieftain imprisoned, and we deemed it necessary to visit them in Mulgore and show our support.

However, not everything goes as planned. Having borrowed a few Highmountain eagles and having exited the portal to Orgrimmar and then the city itself, we decided to give the orcish town of Razor Hill a brief visit befor we continue to Mulgore. It was then that we saw fire and screams coming from the farm not far away from the town and before we knew it, we saw the farm on fire and an Alliance force engaged in combat with the Horde soldiers. We swiftly swooped in and lent our aid in pushing back the enemy. Further pursuit was prevented by a massive tidal wave the enemy Tidesages summoned to deter our pursuit and so we returned to Razor Hill to rest and formulate a plan on driving the Alliance out of our lands.

After several days of fighting, which expanded to Barrens as well, the Alliance were slowly pushed back by the overwhelming Horde numbers. Most managed to escape on their ship while few of them retreated south into Dustwallow.

Following the battle, we spent the night at the Crossroads. Having driven the Alliance away, we continued our journey to Mulgore the next day and in the evening hours we found ourselves in the mighty city of Thunder Bluff. After exchanging greetings and gifts with our Kalimdor cousins, we proceeded to Bloodhoof Village to help out the locals and enjoy some fishing and hunting along the shores of Stonebull Lake.

For the next two days, we can be found in Mulgore and Thunder Bluff for ropleplay and recruitment!

Good evening everyone!

After leaving the comforts of Thunder Bluff and Mulgore, the group headed further north on our way to Feralas. The journey was long, but no serious threats befell us on our way trough the Stonetalon Mountains, where we were able to see first-hand the destruction that the previous war and goblin exploitation brought upon the land.

In the morning, we left the relatively peaceful confines of Sun Rock Retreat, where we had spent the night at and ventured into Desolace. After some time, we came across Ghost Walker Post, where we rested and helped escort a small caravan to Shadowsprey Village. Despite being ambushed by the centaur marauders and losing a few caravan guards, we had managed to protect the caravan and reach the village.

At the evening the next day, we finally departed to Feralas. As we entered, we were awed by the incredible contrast it had compared to Desolace, and the grandness of its nature. We decided to check the ruins around the giant lake before we head to camp Ataya, which was further to the south-east. However, upon the ruins, we’d stumbled across the group of Tauren who called themselves the Proudhorn. After a bit of tensions, we agreed to spend the night with them and share their fireplace until morning.

(Biggest thanks and shoutout to the Proudhorn Nomads and their leader Noblespirit for a fun and enjoyable evening of RP and awesome interactions! I look forward to RPing with you guys again!)

The following day, we continued our journey south. Upon arriving at camp Ataya however, we had found that it was under the assault from the local harpies, who were setting fire to the tents. With our help, the assault was crushed and the harpies slain. After helping out out the fires and heal the wounded, we restocked on our supplies and ventured further south and east to Camp Mojashe, where we spent the night and relaxed while learning more of the situation in these parts and of the ways of the people here.

After spending the night in camp Mojashe and completing the purpose of our journey there, we had decided to return to Highmountain for some good rest. However, destiny had other plans, for before we could head out, we were found by an envoy of the Zandalari group of First Empire, who gave us the invitation to Zuldazar to spend the next few days with them. It was an offer we accepted gladly, and so we purchased a wyvern ride to Sen’jin Village, from which we sailed to Zuldazar by boat.

The following few days, we were accommodated by the First Empire, along with the Duskwatch Outriders from Sutamar. Much has happened, from eating, drinking, visiting the festivities, taking a trip to the warbeast kraal and finally culminating with the grand tournament at Mugambala, where, after the fierce free for all battle, our very own Chereka won us the second place behind captain Styrros of the Duskwatch! Tired, but pleased, we spent the rest of the night drinking and eating before we went to get some rest. Tomorrow night, we shall finally depart to Highmountain after being away from home for so long. Who knows what adventures and challenges await us at home?

Special thanks to our awesome hosts from the First Empire and their GM An’geteb, as well as to the Duskwatch Outriders and their GM Styrros, for making these last few nights truly an awesome and memorable experience! I look forward to more cooperation and RP with you both!

From tomorrow onwards, we shall be available for RP in Thunder Totem in the evening hours, from 20.30 onwards (server time).

Was a jolly good time we shared on Zandalar, a brief moment of respite within a cruel war. A moment so pure, so good… It almost felt unreal!

And even though an elf won the Mugambala… (Getting into that on your thread Styrros!! :smiling_imp: ) I’m glad to know this was but the start of a long series of similar events!

After having returned to Highmountain for some rest and having helped remove a horrible hex from the great Highmountain eagle spirit, the group received an urgent letter from Chieftain Proudhorn, asking for an urgent meeting in their camp in Feralas. Confused but not being the ones who would turn down the call for aid, we packed up as soon as we could, paid homage to the ancestors and traveled once more to the lush forest to meet up with the Nomads.

It was a lovely evening with great RP from everyone! I’d like to thank both the Proudhorn Nomads and the Hand of Cenarius for fun interactions, major tensions and immersive RP! /o

We shall be spending some time in Feralas with the Proudhorns, so the ones interested in joining our little group may find us there!

P.S Hand of Cenarius, not Guardians. My bad!

One little correction - we are the Hand of Cenarius, not the Guardians of Cenarius.

Nevertheless, yesterday’s roleplay was great. I am thankful we were able to interact and, hopefully, we can roleplay and meet again in the future. On better terms, maybe!

Hello, just here to drop off some of my experience so far!

I think the guild has found its heart now and settling into it! We have a core group of fantastic members who are the type of people who make you feel seen and heard, which is what RP is really all about if you ask me.

I very much enjoy how the guild isn’t structured around hierarchy, everyone is allowed to have their own thing going while simultaneously being involved with the overarching theme.
Highmountain Tauren from different walks of life come together, and we work to preserve our culture while experiencing new ones. (Your character is not required to be super traditional, but they are required to uphold traditional Tauren values.)

If your character is involved in, say, the Cenarion Circle or Earthen Ring, or even a made-up organization like the one I’m in on Dolomite- they are still as important as someone whose character is exclusively involved with the guild.

Now, obviously a guild can never be everyone’s cup of tea, but we thrive on feedback in order to give everyone a valuable experience. We believe that RP should be fun for everyone involved, and that we should help each other to achieve that; after all, you can be serious about roleplay without being humourless about it!

As you could probably tell by now, we move around plenty and interact with other guilds - and we will probably continue to do so as it is part of our guild’s concept! But don’t worry, we frequently return to Highmountain to aid our people.

Regarding our allegiance, all Highmountain (aside from those who have subscribed to a neutral organization) are obliged to heed the Warchief’s call and battle the Alliance when ordered to.
Do keep in mind that this is a difficult time to be a Tauren and many Highmountain are likely worried about their future within the Horde, however! Refusing to uphold the oath to the Horde means you are considered a traitor in the eyes of the Warchief, which means that us harbouring you would technically land us in trouble. We will see how things develop after 8.2 but for now that’s kind of the deal, and a character who is part of neutral organization will need to be able to prove that to us before joining.

Anyways, we would love to expand the guild with your RP ready character which you are willing to commit time to and develop!
Highmountain lore is easily obtainable through WoW wikis & questing + I’d be happy to share my Skyhorn eagle-rider’s guide if you’re curious about that sort of thing.

Another pleasant evening was had with our friends from the Proudhorn Nomads and a newcomer, Frakhorn! Tales were told, fish was devoured and new faces were met. A truly relaxing and memorable time!

Big shoutout to these two parties! It is good to see the Tauren RP shine even in times like these, and interactions and RP with fellow Tauren and other races is what makes it possible! I very much look forward to more fun RP like this in days to come.

Keep up the good stuff! <3

After leaving the Proudhorns at the relative safety of their camp, we departed north to Stonetalon, bent on finding the whereabouts of the Blazewest Company’s main base and putting a stop to them if possible.

However, not everything always goes as planned. As soon as we arrived to Sun Rock, we received a disturbing message from Highmountain: Thunder Totem and other settlements were under the invasion from the harpies. The vicious creatures were cursing our wildlife, destroying crops and abducting the civilians for some unknown, but undoubtedly nefarious purposes.

After hearing that, we had no choice but to return to Highmountain as fast as we could and protect our people, telling our allies at Sun Rock to inform us if they find anything about the Blazewest base or their activity.

As soon as we arrived, we found the sky around Thunder Totem darkened and full of harpies, our fellow Highmountain just barely keeping them at bay with arrows and bolas. It’s wasting time, we’d set out to help where we could, some of us helping tend to the wounded, others helping escort the refugees from smaller settlements to Thunder Totem and some of us helped with the defences.

All in all, it was a rough day. During one of the small breaks between fighting, Kotur received a letter from his old comrade Bearan of the thirteenth legion, requesting his immediate presence in Orgrimmar for some very delicate matters. However, due to the situation, he was unable to depart, defence of his people being his primary concern.

Soon after that, he and his comrades Dolomite and Hutue departed swiftly northwards to Skyhorn under cover of night to check up in the village. The people there were under heavy attack, but were also managing to keep the harpies at bay during the day and were focusing on preparing for the Dawn. However, they told the us they heard nothing from one of the small settlements nearby and so we set off to investigate.

It was a grim sight. We were met with nothing but darkness, eerie silence and the feeling that we were being watched. We scouted the settlement as swiftly as we could, but found no inhabitants. Then, in the nearby tent, we found a small calf. She was scared but appeared unharmed. Seeing the shadowy figures around us and recognizing them as harpies, we decided to leave as swiftly as we could and take the calf to safety.

Unfortunately for us, An’she had already begun rising from the mountains, causing the harpies to start stirring from their sleep. After failing to capture one of them to take to Thunder Totem for interrogation, we ran for our dear lives when dozens of feathery wretches woke up and started chasing us acros the slopes. We barely managed to reach our eagles and escape to the relative safety of the capital.

Once we arrived, we took the calf to Hammer’s Cradle to rest and then went to get a brief rest ourselves before the harpies strike again. We knew we had to find out just where the harpies were coming from and who was leading them if we wanted to put a stop to this threat once and for all.

We can now be found back in Thunder Totem for RP and (regarding Highmountain players) potential recruitment from 20.30 server time onwards!

After careful considerations and discussion with the officers, I have decided to implement a few rules regarding the guild membership.

  1. From now on, all new members will be given a trial rank at the start. This rank shall have a duration of two weeks and it shall be a chance to see if the member is a good fit for the guild and if they are willing to dedicate a reasonable amount of time to the guild concept and to RP with the guild. If they fail to meet the minimum requirements in these two weeks, they shall be removed from the guild. If they pass the trial, they shall be given the tribe rank of their choice.

  2. Maximum amount of inactivity time shall be one month after which the member shall be removed from the guild. However, if the member leaves a warning to me or one of the officers stating they shall be absent for longer than that due to valid reasons, they shall be allowed to stay. Those who get removed are free to rejoin the guild at any time they please, but shall be required to pass the trial period like everyone else.

This was done for several reasons, biggest of them being the lack of actual activity from many members which was going to the extremes. We are NOT an alt parking lot for rarely used alts. We, like every other RP guild wish to grow, improve and evolve and to continue providing good and enjoyable RP to both our members and those who RP with us.

Thank you for your understanding!
