Where can the Highmountain Stands be found these days?

We have just returned to Thunder Totem and can be found there in the evening hours. Usually from 20.00 server time onward.

Having been asked to deliver some vital supplies to the Ironhorn Enclave at Highmountain Peak, the group found out that they got more than they bargained for, as halfway to the top they barely managed to avoid a terrible avalanche, which was clearly rigged by someone! As soon as they reached the lone outpost near the top, they were met with a shocking discovery, as the guards there have been brutally clubbed to death. Thanks to the murder weapon they found in the nearby snow, they realized that this and the avalanche were the work of the Frostcrag drogbar from within the peak.

Not in position to seek vengeance at the time, the group swiftly descended to the relative safety of the Enclave where they delivered the supplies and started figuring out what their next move would be and what the Frostcrag were up to. After consulting with the locals and some scouting, they found out that the Frostcrag have been breeding a vicious type of worm which they would use to attack and conquer the enclave.

Not the ones to sit idly and wait for the threat to emerge, the group found the help of the Stonedark drogbar in Thunder Totem and with them they descended into the dark caverns deep below Highmountain Peak, in order to find and dispatch the worm before it could grow too big to stop.

After the descent (and getting soaked from all the traveling via underground river), the group were horrified as they found trail of fresh corpses lining the path towards a small cave on the nearby rise. Carefully, they approached the den, but found it empty. They quickly figured out that the monster was likely at the other entrance further away, but they decided to get some rest in a safe spot their Stonedark guides had found and recover their strength before facing off against the worm.

What is going to happen next? Will the group find what they are looking for? And will they live to tell about it afterwards?

After spending the night in the damp, yet secure cavern, we continued our journey deeper into the mountain. Soon we found ourselves in a circular room filled with strange ritualistic materials, indicating some sort of shrine or ritual chamber

Its keeper was not keen on our arrival, and only after some ‘’ gentle ‘’ persuasion we were able to gain passage. Using the captured drogbar to our advantage, we managed to bypass the wards blocking our path and find our way to the great worm.

Upon reaching our destination, we found that the creature had not just grown into a daunting size, but that we were also heavily outnumbered by its guardians! The odds weren’t in our favor, but we did have a trick up our sleeve

We did the unthinkable, and actually decided to try and reason with them!
Now, while their leader rather shamelessly seized this opportunity to wildly poke fun of us – he did make a number of compelling arguments. Or, well
at least compelling enough for us to reconsider our previous position.
Eventually, we were able to reach a peaceful resolution for both sides and a bargain was struck.

We now have four months to complete the task given to us, but whether or not we will be able to uphold that promise remains to be seen. We left the cave with the drogbar’s unpleasantries still ringing in our ears, and the vile scent of rotten flesh still lingering in our fur.

As we made our way back to Thunder Totem, our weary minds contemplated the best course of action. Some of us were relieved to have found an alternative to what could have been a disastrous battle, others were angered at the drogbar’s blatant display of complacency – especially about an issue that would have been damaging for both parts, should it come to pass.

We were all exhausted upon reaching the bluff, but unfortunately we did not get to enjoy our stay in Thunder Totem for long

Early the next morning, we were urgently informed that one of our people’s outposts in Drustvar was struggling to survive an ever-increasing number of attacks!
The Horde was directing their provisions elsewhere, and the outpost was not just running low on food and armaments, but also braves.
Time was at the essence, and we departed immediately after having redirected some of our own resources to the post. Thanks to pulling a few strings, we arrived in Drustvar in just a couple of days. The outpost was in worse shape than we could ever have imagined, and we prepared ourselves for a long and backbreaking stay.

The commander of the Swiftwind Post, Toska Eaglehorn, thoroughly explained to us the situation, and what may first have seemed a bit overstated, soon turned into a harsh reality.
The post was under nearly constant threat, day or night, the attacks were equally brutal.

We had only just settled down before another onslaught began, and the enemy appeared at the fringe of the dense forest before charging towards us with zeal! These were once ordinary forest creatures, now driven into a frenzy by the witches’ curse. Their coats were singed with dark magic, and their lust for blood seemed as bottomless as their hollow eye sockets.

Despite everything, we were glad to have arrived when we did - or this may very well have been the Swiftwind’s last stand against the coven. Still, it was but one victory counted amongst many battles, and we knew we had to sever the head of the snake if these Tauren were to survive.

To be continued

Alright, folks!
Highmountain Stands is still currently stationed in Drustvar (Swiftwind Post) for the time being! It’s been a blast so far, especially big thanks to our allies Taenn and Rangoor who has joined in on our adventure.

We are considering visiting Drustvar more frequently in the future, seeing we have kin here who could use a hand, I mean look at this place

Next week we will attend the Kosh’harg festival hosted by the Orcs of the Red Blade, which we are all really looking forward to!

(Also, do people actually read these event updates
? ._. )

Good evening everyone!

After preparing sufficiently, the group finally ventured into the mist-covered cemetery in Drustvar, searching for the witches of the coven who were planning to use the dead there to launch an assault at Swiftwind Post.

As they approached the bridge leading to the cemetery, their mistweaver Stonarev was able to briefly part the mists around them to allow them to see ahead of them as they went among the old, weathered tombstones, some which had mutilated corpses placed on them.

They were greeted by enraged and tortured spirits of the dead and hellish hounds feeding on them. Realizing that their physical attacks were barely doing anything, the group had to resort to using spirit-based and elemental attacks to dispatch their foes.

After traveling trough the cemetery, they finally heard faint chanting in the mists not far from them, Rangoor being the only one who could determine where it was coming from and the group slowly approached the source. There they saw a gruesome sight: a witch who was channeling the souls from the nearby pile of corpses straight into the wooden effigy before her.

As they approached her, the witch surrounded her peels with a dark barrier and started raising the dead around them to stop them from reaching her as she started channeling dark magic to dispose of them. As if that wasn’t bad enough, the mist closed in around them and started draining their strength. Fortunately, with great effort, Stonarev was able to neutralize the mist and the others were able to break trough the barrier and end the witch before she could have finished them all off.

However, her death didn’t stop the walking dead from attacking or make them fall down. In fact, her spell, although now without direction, has succeeded and the dead started rising across the cemetery. Using Kotur’s fire elemental as a decoy, the group managed to save their comrade Arum Stonehorn and escape the cemetery with their lives. They fled to relative safety of the outpost as fast as they could, injured and tired but alive.

We can now be found in Swiftwind Post in Drustvar for some casual RP, events and recruitment as we plan on taking the fight to the seat of the coven and finishing this madness once and for all. Highmountain Stands!

Another month, another update!

Much has happened since our time in the cursed land of Drustvar. From narrowly surviving double assassination attempt in Highmountain to fighting against the silithid swarm, the mogu and the cursed tol’vir in Uldum, Highmountain Stands have seen a fair share of trouble and adventures in the past month!

Now we are back in Thunder Totem for some well-deserved RnR, recruitment, and RP! Soon we shall head out once again, but for now, we can be found in Thunder Totem in the evening hours, mostly from 20.00 server time onward!
