Once again, I do want to genuinely thank Rykana and Verzan for the effort and time they’ve been putting into the guild in a time when it couldn’t have been particularly easy to draw people back into RP what with the state WoW was in during that time. Just as I’d like to thank them for the discourse that took place and the solution, however imperfect, that we came up with. This decision was reached, as explained by Rykana, in common agreement, even if I can imagine full well that it was not a decision made easily or gladly by either of them, as ORB was a project that they too put their share of effort in.
Perhaps in time, I hope whatever remains of ORB will be able to co-exist properly with whatever project Verz and Ryk will move on to next. I can imagine whatever concept they’ll come up with may have a few things in common with ORB as a clan (or perhaps it’ll be something entirely different, who knows), but I hope that won’t mean they have to be strangers let alone competition to one another. For what it’s worth, I do wish the very best to both of them and whoever chooses to follow them to what will - hopefully - be greener and more peaceful pastures.
As I have said before, I do deeply regret the amount of drama that came out of what was meant to be an attempt to take a final step back. As it seems, I’ll instead be taking a step back while keeping a hold of the keys to the old ORB van and take it on a sunny ride to the beach for retirement, at least for the time being. That said, I don’t know what the future has in store for ORB as a guild. Suffice to say that, for the time being, the guild will go into a “low maintenance”-mode while we figure out what to do with it.
I imagine it’s the best way for this to end; despite the firestorm of drama that was created to reach this conclusion. (Which I will apologize for, I won’t say my mild amount of tomfoolery wasn’t contributive to the fact it all turned very sour and flame-y. Many feelings were had.)
Best of luck to the Skywises, regardless. From an old tutor to old students, I hope you find what you’re looking for and can continue your endeavours in what Koz describes as greener and more peaceful pastures.
It’s nice to see this resolved in the best way moving forward, and hopefully in a way which stops the cascade (bandwagon, if you will) of aggression and personal attacks.
Wish both the Red Blade and the new guild success and happiness for the future.
Probably, thats the usual exscuse for problems on Horde no?
About the topic though, imagine having the gall to hijack someones 15+ year old guild and cull their longest running members, instead of simply leaving and creating your own, no shame what so ever
Edit: I see they eventually done their own thing though after a tonne of pressure lol
I haven’t been following any recent drama or whatnot, but just wanted to pop in and say, as somebody who has been a witness to the Orcs of the Red Blade since the early, early days of Defias Brotherhood and who has fond memories of the RP-PVP events I had with you in TBC when I was with Nature’s Grasp, I have so much respect for the sheer effort that it must have taken to keep it going for as long as you have.
Best of luck to you in the future, Kozgugore, and I hope you’re able to salvage your project.
Well, we did share a drink here and there at last week’s Grand World Tournament event in Icecrown, so sharing a drink with an orc is more likely than a dwarf may think!
And glad to hear we managed to contribute to your character’s story in a way, Ghormisa! Perhaps we’ll stumble across one another again sometime!
Had a great time last night at the social RP event at Thunder Bluff, our own Kraag was the centre of attention with a weird song about cactus apples. Maybe he’ll post it if we’re blessed.
Still hanging out in the Durotar area, next up we’ve been invited to a pit-fighting competition in the Barrens!
