[H-RP] The Beastmaw Warband - Pyrates Ye Be Warned

Nothing like a good adventurous camping trip to set the mood!

In light of the recent cross-faction guild updates:

  • Code of Conduct

    • Words of the Wolf (The Warband’s place in the Horde)

The Beastmaw Warband is part of the Horde. Stay loyal to the Horde. Fight for the Horde. Die for the Horde.

Being part of the Horde means recognizing and utilising its military hierarchy and system of ranks.

The Beastmaw Warband, in times of war, is attached to a Legion led by a Warlord. The Beastmaw obeys the Warlord, the Warlord’s war council, and those ranked higher than the Warlord in the Horde chain of command.

The command of the Warchief stands higher than any other.

Highest in the Horde hierarchy is the word of the Horde Council.

Warlord Katarr Clawhand commands the Beastmaw.

The current Warlord that the Beastmaw serves under is Kon’taka of the Darkspear Tribe.

Being part of the Horde means that the Warband may only enlist willing recruits who name themselves members of the Horde by rights of birth, oath taken or alliance with the Horde. In times of need, mercenaries of neutral disposition may be contracted and thus expected to honour the chain of command established by the Horde and within the Warband.

The Beastmaw continue to chase after their two self-assigned main objectives on the Dragon Isles: hunt down Sundered Flame and find worthy beasts to tame.

Having located and taken the first steps into taming a horned creature the locals name Armoredon, the Beastmaw now venture into the Azure Span. There, they came across an obvious trap, which they sprung eagerly and came into combat with Primalists. Though the battle was being won, it was interrupted by the Sundered Flame, who were eager to cause mayhem in a three-way fight.

The Beastmaw still managed to win, and even captured themselves a Sundered Flame - a blue-scaled Dracthyr by the name of Krilzoral, who later gave away the names of those of his comrades who had been behind the attack on an Expedition camp in the Waking Shore, murdering the researchers and escaping with an item of Titan make. Having rescued one of the two survivors from that research camp, a dwarf explorer by the name of Liora, the Beastmaw had long decided to relieve the potential weapon from the hands of the Sundered Flame.

Many thanks to Torakk and the Beastmaw for their contributions in bringing the community together at the summits between our campaigns.

And congrats on taming the mighty Armoredon.

Yeap it’s still great fun to meet up with other guilds, and I’m sure very important and so on but the enchanted no-restraint-needed sparring arena!!! A game-changer and I hope we stay camped in Valdrakken forever. Or at least, that our next summit will be there too!

Tragic news, we’ve unfortunately left the arena behind. Some of the Beastmaws are still in the city, and I am sure they’re enjoying the luxuries of city life, including that arena. That is, when they’re not on duty guarding [Redacted]. The less fortunate of us are away in the Azure Span, where we have to spar with padded weapons, if we have time at all in between Sundered Flame ambushes.

It is in the capital that I found them; their stay at the Forbidden Reach had been brief, but far from uneventful. All manners of invaders had fixed their eyes upon that island, none more zealous than the Sundered Flame. What the Sundered sought to uncover there, my comrades never found out to regale me with. At least the Gear was pried from their grasp and successfully brought to Valdrakken, in the security of Dragons and Mages alike. Sheltered from otherworldly eyes.

The blue warrior they called Match paid with his life trying to return the enigmatic sarcophagus to Sundered possession. Some say Endrelion merely sent him to cull the unruly in his ranks. Some fear he may have succeeded, had it not been for Cinderfall’s intervention. What is certain is that other such attempts will follow. The road to Camp Antonidas was proof enough of that…

It has now been a day since they delved into the caverns at Three-falls, and many hours since Lyriagosa shared the troubling message she received from the vanguard by means of magic: Gnoll assassins carrying envenomed weapons. I carry on preparing antivenom for the two who were struck. Earthmother watch over them.

(Big thanks to Ronto for helping with the image by drawing Bastion and Croaker!)

I have to say this art looks amazing! Beastmaw has powerful fighters and powerful artists!

You know a campaign just stepped up when Torakk posts the enemy chart. The only thing more exciting is finding out about the Valdrakken arena!

Can I adopt Croaker? I want to adopt Croaker.

Slow reply, but you are totally welcome to him.
What’s left of him anyway :smirk:

In other news, the Beastmaw are presently making their way out of a buried Titan vault where we spent the last 6 events. Loamm looks incredibly comfortable as a place to relax right now.

Croaker is pining for the fjords right now, but otherwise perfectly healthy and adoptable.

The Flame Tongue have been defeated in the depths of a buried Titan vault, where Croaker met his fate and ultimately became a trophy. Endrelion fled with his life and a grave injury dealt to him by Reith, his forces in disarray at the news of Sarkareth’s defeat delivered in a crucial moment of the ongoing battle.

The Matter Conversion Gear was destroyed as per the wishes of the Titan construct called Kathyster, clarifying that such an artifact was once used to speed up natural processes, not to convert imp minions into fel-powered shovels (who would do that?).

Golgar Wildsight fell in battle, later to be burned in a pyre in the open fields of the Ohn’ahran Plains, his name ever to be remembered as one of the best marksmen the Beastmaw ever had.

The Warband now remains in Loamm, in the days after the Expedition gathering, to discuss where to go next, with the shadow of Indigosa’s gnoll minions looming outside the Zaralek tunnels.

The Beastmaw have moved back into the Ohn’ahran Plains, tracking down a Primalist war host and rescuing the proto-drake dubbed Cinderfall from their chains.

The warband now camps at Maruukai, always on the lookout for Indigosa’s gnoll agents - a task supposedly made easier by the vast open plains which make the approach of assassins a harder task. Already, a pack of gnolls were reported seen by returning centaur hunters. The Beastmaw tracked them down, witnessing and preventing their attempts at necromancy at the resting place of a great mammoth’s bones.

Happy new year!

The Beastmaw took a bit of a shore leave around the holiday of Winter’s Veil, portalling back home for a couple of weeks. The return to Valdrakken is scheduled for next week, in time for the next expedition gathering. More gnolls, undead dragons and Emerald Dream shenanigans await for the coming weeks.

The Beastmaw arrived in the Emerald Dream to put the fear of zug zug into the local Primalist population. Meanwhile, a local New Blood finds herself on fire more often than she would like.

In other words, all is going great!

The only thing better than visions are visions that give you flaming danger noodles. The warband loves flaming danger noodles.

(Except Shara, who at this point doesn’t like flaming anything, really.)

We have now finished our storyline involving the Dream and we are getting the chance to explore Bel’ameth, running into the locals to varying responses. The Warband will soon be returning to the mainland, so as not to overstay its welcome at the new capital of the night elves.

Just had the most awful, frightening walk through some idyllic forest to Iskaara, as part of our plan to call the fearsome Gorath’s Tide back into action. It wouldn’t have been worth the risk, considering the tribe of gnolls gunning intently for us, but we’re going to get access to something even more powerful than decay magic: big cannon

I meet the Beastmaw Warband in Teerakai. The air is fragrant with spices the Centaur use for cooking. I pass rough-hewn buildings and colourful tents. The Centaur are quaint and simple folk, using whatever they can hunt or scavenge to build their cities. Later I will be told that their architecture is quite similar to how Orgrimmar used to look before Garrosh Hellscream’s reign. There is plenty of rustic charm to be found in Teerakai.
