[H-RP] The Wayward Vagrants!

“The Wayward Vagrants. Never have I fought alongside a band less disciplined, or one more prone to insubordination and disorder. Never have I encountered such chaos whenever order was being sought. And yet, never have I felt the embers of my past, living self burning as strongly and vividly as I have while being amongst them, rekindling the long-lost flames of who I once was. They have reminded me that there can be more to life as well as undeath other than duty and service - to remain compassionate and kind even in the face of demise and devoted not only to the cause but also one another." ~ Korhal Rimesteel, Knight of the Ebon Blade

“I’ve been with them about a year and a half and I have yet to hear them say a job is too big. Of course that doesn’t mean I haven’t been required to heal some serious injuries doing said jobs.
They’re reasonably democratic but Aiyvah has the veto, what with her being the boss lady and all. They all have personality disorders but I dare anyone to say we aren’t all a bit screwed in the head with the world as it is. We seem to specialize in finding things, quite often that seems to be people… They really should stop getting bloody lost! Also recovering stolen property… and recovering property that hasn’t been stolen. Helping the helpless, the clueless, which sometimes means each other!
Look if you don’t mind pirates, spooky shadow ladies, rambling holy Undead, randy trolls, rogues, thieves, an ex-Knight, rangers, grumpy bloody orcs, shy vulpera that can throw you into next week, a Nightborne who can negotiate your pants off, some Ebons that may or may not want your body parts, a couple of guys that will slap you with fel so hard your ancestors will weep if you tick them off and you have a job needs doing then the Waygrants are your people." ~ Artrel Dawnlight, Medic & Master Jeweller

Who We Are:

During the peak of Sylvanas’ reign, the Wayward Vagrants emerged from the seedy underground as an assortment of misfits; mercenaries, petty criminals and adrenaline junkies seeking a bunk to lay their heads, earn petty gold and partake in grizzly exploration. Following their dubious political involvement in the Fourth War and dangerous escapades beyond the veil, this versatile group has faced a familial shift in dynamic, carving a path of karmic justice to any deemed a worthy threat and for the most part - worth a hefty coin, all with their own individual goals in mind.

Whether a vulgar cutthroat, a reckless treasure hunter, a primp and proper knowledge-seeking arcanist or a shady entrepreneur, all manner of quirky faces can find themselves tangled within their anti-political webwork.

What We Can Offer:

The Vagrants offer a triumvirate benefit of shelter, gold and companionship to fellow adventurers and waysided outcasts, as well as opportunities for exploration, adventure, combat and too much alcohol for one mercenary to handle alone.

Following the destruction of their base from the more recent Scourge invasion after the shattering of the Helm of Domination, the Vagrants are prone to camping during their many excursions and tavern sailing, though efforts are always made to find the Vagrants suitable locations to rest their weary heads. As such, provisions, rations and armor repairs are also offered during their vast travels.

Under Aiyvah’s command and with the armistice still in place, the Wayward Vagrants have now opened their ranks to members of the Alliance for those willing to set political grievances aside.

OOC Info:

The Wayward Vagrants is a heavy roleplay guild for characters who might not quite fit in with other groups for various reasons, no matter what race, class or background they are. Our goal is to provide a variety of different kinds of RP, including a healthy mix of short expeditions featuring mercenary work, adventuring and social gatherings, to lengthy campaigns focusing extensively on in-depth plot and detailed storytelling with opportunities for plenty of interpersonal progression between members.

We run two events a week on Fridays and Sundays evenings with the rest of the week free for spontaneous or organised social RP between members. We use a simple D100 system incorporated with the use of the Dicemaster addon to support immersion in our storytelling and RP.

We also have a guild Discord that we use primarily for out-of-game communication and a guild website, featuring character profiles, art, stories, event summaries, combat system and much more. From time to time, we will often group up for other playable content such as PvP, old raids, questing or even playing other games with the use of our voice chat.

Requirements & Expectations:

We’re a small but close knit guild that prioritize fun through RP and the formation of positive relationships before all else, as such there is absolutely zero tolerance for bullying, discrimination and drama between guild members. We are, however, not a politically correct inclined guild and those wishing to join us are best doing so with a broad sense of humour!

Due to the nature and language of some of the content provided, we require our members to be at least 18 years of age.

If you have questions or are interested in joining, please contact Aiyvah-Moonglade or Malcoris-Moonglade, though any of our members are free to approach and happy to help if the aforementioned are unavailable.

The Waygrants currently find themselves holed up and licking their wounds after a sneak attack by the Jailer’s forces trying to thwart their attempt to find missing Venthyr and Stoneborn allies. They are also missing their Ebon allies and the Cleric but gained a Demonologist. This is before they can even start to think about finding a way back out of the Shadowlands.

And the Waygrants find themselves in another pickle. I mean how do they keep doing this? Trying to escort a Venthyr Dutchess through the Endmire and get set upon by a Dreadlord and minion in disguise. I know, should have been more on it but the place creeps me out ok. Thankfully our resident Illidari was on the ball. Still even with the warning the demons are formidable foes and his little Sayaad pet nearly laid me out with her whip. More to report later I have a Raptor to heal… how by the sun did I also become a vet!

The Vagrants have faced a lot of enemies on their travels in the realm beyond, but the tensions have brewed and the pot has overboiled. Can the Vagrants resolve the issues amongst themselves? With the most unlikely person acting as a wonderful mediator, and everyone saying a piece of their mind, they sure have made some amazing progress, but is it enough to be deemed worthy by the helpful Venthyr? Is there another way for them to reach their end goal if not - as some already have started to speculate? Only time will tell - they’re on dangerous grounds, that is for certain.

The group have now escaped the Shadowlands after a daunting and formidable finale. But will they receive a warm welcome after 2 years gone?

I’m scared to find out!

'Twas a damn tough time, filled with toil and no dime
The Wayward Vagrants did undergo
But they don’t give a damn, for the job be done
Sound the horns, hear the story told.

For they’re homeward bound from the Shadowlands
With their spirits low but free
And they don’t give a damn, now they drink their rum
In Silvermoon City.

They be home to Azeroth, me lads
They be home, who could this foresee?
But the journey’s made, all the tolls be paid
Farewell, the realm of death, curse ye.

Well we did it, well kinda, finished off a dreadlord but not really. Seems we got what was a killing blow in but he was pulled away by a dastardly plot with dastardly allies. It’s put a marker on our backs for sure but we’ve made it home and that is not to be sniffed at. Now for a quieter life… Hah! The Vagrants, never gonna happen so we shall see what comes at us next.

The Waygrants are currently enjoying a break before heading off to the Dragon Isles. It’s so close now we can almost hear the beating of wings!

Now firmly 3 years into the future, the Wayward Vagrants will find themselves in the thick of it any day now. In the mean time, they’re roaming about if anyone wishes to flag us down for open world RP!

Well initial run in with some folks stirring up trouble, causing storms and all manner of trouble for a bunch of Druids. It has the feels of something much bigger to come… well bring it on.

Our Dragonflight prelogue is underway! The Vagrants have been getting a bit too cosy with primalists and naughty elementals with the guide of a Kal’dorei and centaur Emissary, with many of them already bloodied and bruised. Will we make it out of the ancient halls, or will our return to the Shadowlands be a swift one?

The Shadowlands will have to wait, for no Vagrant soul has been claimed. Yet.

With the Prologue completed, the rowdy mercenary band is looking to join the expedition to the Dragon Isles, alongside some Horde and Alliance allies. The adventure begins tonight and they are wrapping up the final preparations and packing, ready to set sail to this strange new world.

But are the Isles ready for them?

It was only supposed to be a hunt for samples! And they did come back with items the Expedition had asked of us but I also had a bunch patients brought back to me too. Seems to be a running issue with scalding water, Gorlocks and poisons. Ah well what does a medic do but triage and carry on.

Something spooky appears to be occurring within Vagrant camp! An unknown tent of an unknown, non-recollected member appears to have infiltrated! Or not, given their tabard contains no goblin, and their laundry not yet washed by our in-camp maid… Motes, sand ghosts and fuzzy memories elude the Vagrants even more, as they try and work out whom this ‘Spanna’ is. A prank from nearby campmates, or an ally lost in time?

Dammit boss I’m a medic not a Chronomancer! Half the team lost in a time storm, returned to us now but traumatised of the mind beyond my healing arts. Age old questions of what might have been, lived out in peace and joy only to be ripped away and dumped back into a life of loss and heartache. Valiant Waygrants will soldier on though.

Azeroth creates gold, man takes the gold, society uses money, mercenaries search for gold, gold destroys mercenaries.

Jani inherits treasure?

Even monsters are having a glow-up these days, will this group catch a break??

It appears that the divide separating us, the dracthyr and mortals of the Wayward Vagrants is gradually dissipating, albeit at a significant cost. It is without question that both parties will carry the remnants of this learning curve with them, akin to a permanent scar. Nevertheless, amidst this contemplation, I am left to ponder about the savory delicacies that Elysial shall grace us with at dinner tonight…
