What half breed races are possible?
Can somebody give me a reason why high/blood elves and humans can successfully reproduce but night elves and humans can’t??
Also, can void elves reproduce??
Thoughts!

There are currently no half-dwarves in the lore, but anything is possible with magic!
Anything is possible… but we had halforcs with humans, ogres and draenei, half-elves from High Elves and Humans , and… Me’dan.
Me’dan no longer exists right?
They’re not talking about him anymore and make jokes about that. That is as clear as they have gotten.
Unknown as of yet, they’re too new a race for it to be really considered. In theory the offspring might automatically be turned into some kind of void creature-hybrid so perhaps not advisable.
Half breeds are cringe. Why would anyone want them to begin with?
Each race has different understanding of what is attractive so I also fail to understand why that would be a thing.
So I’m sure no human would find elven or draenei females attractive.
They sure seem disgusting to human players…
Sure is a bizarre concept. Humans and elves mating. Has this ever even happened?
I mean what even is a Goldshire? A mythical land that doesn’t actually exist, because things like this just don’t happen. Ever.
They can, but humans are to ugly for the beauty of night elves. That’s why only High Elves are doing it.
reproduce not just you know…
Of course they can. Why they shouldn’t be able to reproduce?
Since Blizzard doesn’t use it too often, I assume they leave it open for whenever they need it.
They used to have a pen and paper RPG for wow, in which they explain upon some compatibility, but it isn’t considered canon.
The correct explanation is rather simple:
Halfbreeds existed in lore from the very beginning of WC1 (I think Garrona was the first). Back then the devs took a lot of inspiration from D&D and other fantasy, in which halfbreeds are common, so they simply took that into their game and made Humans & High Elves compatible with each other. That was before Night Elves, Kalimdor and titans were even a thing.
Later they expanded upon the lore and a lot of stuff which they previously implemented didn’t make too much sense anymore, but wasn’t too bad to retconn it.
Also who says that Night Elves can’t reproduce with humans?
Yeah I think so, but I’m not sure if the outcome would be too corrupted to survive.
Also as for attraction:
Pretty much any race can be attracted to any other race and it heavily depends on the individual. There can absolutely be a Tauren who’s into Orcs, but the majority of Tauren would rather stick to other Tauren.
Just proves that humans are wicked race of self inserts.
Also, Vareesa’s spawn should be a walking proof why it’s a bad thing. ; )
THank you for the detailed answer, it really helped.
And idk, I guess I just assumed that night elves and humans couldn’t reproduce. Thought I heard it from somewhere lol, but I guess until proven otherwise we don’t know
Edit - @Zakarru ikr didn’t they look absolutely terrifying in the comic. Those teeth. Absolutely demonic, true villains of azeroth.
There’s a Human in love with a Night Elf girl in Ashenvale but he’s rejected, lol. As for Blood Elves, only Valeera Sanguinar was going to be written in a sort of weird “angry/sassy” relationship with Varian but then Blizzard chose to cut that angle completely and only kept them as friends as Valeera is the spy of Anduin too and nothing more, and probably the fact they already knew Varian was gonna die eventually anyway contributed to that effect.
So yeah among the Elves only High Elves and namely the Windrunner sisters willingly choose to lower themselves and their bloodline and mingle with Humans as Elisande said, and for High Elves is probably due because they lived alongside them for generations in Dalaran, for example.
Although there’s also that Human fanboy of the Blood Elves…Silvermoon Harry lol.
Every time I see him, I am reminded of you <3
He’s the only Human who should be welcomed in Silvermoon actually…hopefully that doesn’t happen during a Warfront because otherwise he will have to change his nickname then if Blood Elves have to move in another location…but probably not
Aaaand I just found out now that the despicable Alliance tricked poor Silvermoon Harry into thinking he was gonna work with Blood Elves, while it was Blood Trolls instead…
go figure
Same in real life too. But some people still like certain races.
Many think there should be no cross breeding and many think it’s good. Science actually suggests it is good because of genetic diversity but also understanding 2 different cultural backgrounds is good, because in many ways your language essentially influences how you think.
So it actually makes more sense that the more intelligent races would in fact be less racist and less stubborn around this issue. You can apply this to real life too. Of course there will be exceptions. I’m not saying there isn’t “50/50” race people who are racist, I’m sure there are. I’m also sure there are people who have legit non-racist reasons to why they think we shouldn’t. But for the 99.999%…
edit
Hmmm I don’t see the post I quoted now wtf
We’re talking about fantasy world, why are you bringing the RL stuff to it? Humans might be different but they’re still the same specie.
It would be more accurate if you’d advocate human relationships with animals to actually hit the cross-racial breeding subject.
