Allahu akbar, Kaivax! The battlefields on hardcore servers must be changed. I mean, death on the battlefield should not be final. After killing a player on the battlefield, I would like the player to be thrown off the battlefield and hang a debuff of 15 minutes for restrictions on re-entering battles. But death on the battlefield should not be the last road.
Did you meant they should change how deaths work in HC Wargames? Because they did address that part in their opening blog.
PVP BATTLEGROUNDS AND WARFARE
PvP battlegrounds are completely disabled, as are all PvP Battlemasters. You may still enter premade Wargames, but you may not gain honor or PvP reputations from Wargames.
While PvP is a fun part of World of Warcraft, by allowing players to enter battlegrounds on one-life characters, there is a concern that this would lead to overly defensive play, often to the point of non-participation, especially when you consider how powerful some rewards are from factions such as Stormpike Guard and the Frostwolf Clan. PvP is not the focus of the Hardcore game mode, so we’ve decided to disable normal PvP queuing entirely. If you wish to test yourself in pre-arranged Wargames, however, that’s an available option. Wargames confer no honor or other rewards. Beware—if you engage in Wargames, death is still permanent.
Thank you of course, I was reading this at the time of publication. But depriving players of PVP is unfair. We don’t need pvp rewards. It is enough to break the faces of the opposite faction.
Is that too much to ask?
you can still raid someone’s capital and claim your prize as leader-killer.
I can raid, yes. But would herbivorous players agree to attack the capital ? I don’t think so…
This is fun coming from Tauren
My tribe feeds exclusively on centaurs. But sometimes on holidays our women cook gnomes.
Why the exceptions? One life only no excuses. Make a lvl 19 character in 2 evenings for a 10 minutes massacre.
I’ve been thinking about it. But 19 is too high and labor-intensive. I think it’s time for us to resurrect the forum wars. And for this event, it seems to me that the level is not higher than 15. What do you think?
That you have to correct title to: “Hardcore and Battlegrounds”.
I tend to agree. PvP can be fun, and to be deprived of it is a shame.
Just call it wargames or something. Emphasis on games. Like RL paintball. No-one needs to die. On “death” a player gets a debuff that disables everything but walking, and he has to manually walk to the graveyard where an NPC periodically removes the debuff.
If RP is a concern (“why wouldnt an orc kill a gnome?”), make it same-faction only. Better than nothing.
You have this on softcore realms. No need to break HC realms integrity even if BGs are crossrealm, the HC characters are supposed to have no exceptions in terms of dying only once.
Want to risk capturing towers in EPL? Turn on PvP and find out how long will you live there.
Do the kids in the warcraft world not play cops and robbers without actually dying?
If they do, why can’t adults?
I agree that these should be no exception for dying.
Simulated combat however does not result in anyone’s death in the firstplace, thus the rule is not broken.
So these are wargames, but why are they awarding honor and titles then? You just want R14 PvE abuse that’s about it. Nah HC BGs would be just like Blizzard said, with everybody not leaving their corners PR even worse than AV PvE meta we had. Besides Blizzard allowed Wargames on HC, didn’t they? Just regular BGs are off limits.
You’re assuming. I did not say anything about honor and titles. A scoreboard will do. Basically the same thing Blizzard is already implementing, but with an option for the combat to be simulated, not real.
Just like you can have duels on HC realms that can be both lethal and non-lethal.
