Hardcore PvP

Hardcore PvP on the Classic 20th Anniversary Edition Servers? Let’s Make It Happen!

Hello, fellow adventurers! 🌍⚔️

As someone who has been deeply immersed in the Hardcore (no death) mode, I find it nearly impossible to enjoy World of Warcraft any other way. The tension, the stakes, the sheer thrill of knowing every choice matters makes it a unique experience that has completely transformed how I approach the game.

However, with the launch of the upcoming Classic: 20th Anniversary Edition servers on November 21, I’m torn. The PvP realm calls to me, much like it did during the Season of Mastery. PvE servers, in my humble opinion, lack the dynamic adversity that PvP servers naturally provide.

My question is simple:

Will it be possible to obtain the Soul of Iron buff on the PvP server from the NPCs in Undercity and Ironforge, or through any other means?

For those unfamiliar, adding these NPCs to the PvP realm could open up an entirely new and exciting challenge for a niche but passionate community of “hardcore” PvP enthusiasts. Provided that Hardcore and PvE characters cannot transfer to the PvP realm, this would preserve the purity of the challenge.

Why Hardcore PvP?

I’m fully aware that I will die—many times—to PvP encounters, ganks, and all the chaos that a PvP server brings. But for some of us, the excitement far outweighs the inconvenience of losing a character. The thrill of overcoming these obstacles in a world where every player interaction could be your last is what makes this mode so compelling.

If there’s anyone out there who can make this happen, please consider this request. Adding the Soul of Iron NPCs to the PvP realm would be a simple yet monumental change for those of us seeking the ultimate challenge.

If you share my enthusiasm for this idea, I urge you to join the discussion and show your support. And if anyone has a way to reach the dev team, please help bring this suggestion to their attention!

Together, let’s make Hardcore PvP a reality. Who’s with me? 🙌

Very interesting, but do you really think it would be possible for someone to achieve this without dying?
Theoretically, this would only be possible if the player was protected or if they were always in a group from day one. Later on, you would always need a few protectors. Exciting in any case.

We tried to get to 60 on Dreadnaught, which was the big PvP server during Season of Mastery. And out of a group of three friends I’m the only one who didn’t manage to ding 60. I died three times level 50+ in Alterac Valley battleground, getting greedy and not leaving (/afk) the BG as I was getting focused.

But it is indeed possible, a friend of mine even did it while streaming.

Isen’t that the dude who tried to snipe Ziqo? https://youtu.be/xfPBc4giAjM?si=HO1z6ggiJm3He3kc

This will definitely be a challenge, but honestly, where would the fun be without a few sprinkles of challenge?

Indeed very interesting
Although it is very challenging, shouldnt it be in the game by default?
There will be probably a lot of players that would like to have some form of validation that they got lv 60 without dying on a pvp-server, i think it will be very rare to actually see people getting 60 but many players will try for sure! It should get attention!
Put the NPC in Blizzard!

This wouldn’t be interesting or fun, high level rogues will camp the border zones out of Barrens/Westfall and instantly kill you the moment you step into a contested area. It will just be rogues and a few feral druids which manage to evade the rogues who get to any level.
