I see people logging on without knowing anything about it so wouldnt hurt to give some warning on launcher or something.
Think resurrection of chars since Wednesday maintenance must be considered for the sake of future of game, people are really angry and if they start leaving in bulks it will create avalanche… We all know this from past dont wait for game to become ghostland before admitting mistake when it is to late. Think people wouldnt be so angry if they get their chars back and as this is something that occur very rare it cant be used as any excuse for some later appeals on resurrections
On another matter I think you guys should have some internal investigation, for some time it appears to me like someone is sabotaging your games and this is perfect example as I cant really remember something like this happening before and it is awfully strange it happens once HC servers are out as it is probably worst thing that could happen for HC…
I tried to log-in about 10 times with no success.
WOW Error 51900127
First things first: Thank you for some kind reply (as we all know, that you are just a messeger, and not responsible)!
I myself still see the “you have to log in twice”-bug (today 2 times), where at first you get disconnected before going to the character screen - back to the screen with a big “reconnect” in red.
Ingame I really can’t tell, because the lag since wednesday are not predictable. Sometimes you can play for hours with nothing (like on my 42 paladin, where I didn’t even know that the servers where having difficulties, because there was (and still is) no information on the main interface - laucher or ingame) and then suddenly you have a monster lag (with character being able to be moved and spell effects being seen, but no input working) with no warning beforhand.
What is the course of action, that is being thought about?
I mean it is obvious - as seen within all these posts in the forum - that many, many people lost much since wednesday without being at fault (servers are not in the control of the player) and not having any kind of warning beforehand (battle net launcher or ingame message).
Still … a first message is a first … if it doesn’t stop here, it can be seen as some kind of interest from you guys, IF further steps are taken.
TY
Edit: And yes, I know that we have to “accept” all responsibily when creating a character in HC - you show the pop up at creaton screen (including - and i qoute - "By agreeing to play on these realms […] character’s death is permanent whichever the reason. This includes disconnections, lag, server outages, gameplay bugs, […]. Blizzard Entertainment reserves the right to take the most severe actions in response to deliberate negative behavior on these realms […])
Withholding information (“knowledge hiding, knowledge hoarding”, you could also say tergiversate) is seen as negative behavior within a working environment. Couldn’t the situation regarding these ongoing server issues be seen as willful withholding of information from Blizzard? The players where not informed on the official channels - battle.net launcher or ingame - and blizzard was aware of these problems?
This morning, except for the “You were disconnected from server” message when I tried to first login, game works fine. Yes, it would be a good idea to add a second latency bar, that tells the state of the server.
It’s better or sure I would say. But I still get some lag. Example: move an item in inventory, it “lags” before it finalizes. This used to be 10 second lag. Now I experienced it couple of times with 2-3 seconds. Will see when more people come on line.
There are still random lag spikes that can kill you and changing from one zone to another can cause lag. I have not tried griffon rides and will not try them until the lag is confirmed to be gone. I didnt lose a character to this (I almost lost one), but if there arent rollbacks for all those people that died from the lag spikes during the couple days I cannot see myself playing on a HC server anymore.
It seems the technical limitations of the game don’t allow hardcore play.
As of yesterday (and the day before) the lags on Nek’Rosh were also massive, making the game essentially unplayable. A lot of my guild mates died because they dc’ed in the middle of flying, being underwater or fighting.
There were several instances where I couldn’t move my character or use any spells for over a minute in a hyperspawn area, while still being able to write in guild chat, so it was definitely a server issue. I had to restart the game each time (and pray that my character wasn’t gone).
Please fix this and give us the possibility to restore our characters when they die because of this.
It’s very frustrating to lose a character in such a stupid way and not being able to restore it when we’re already paying 13 Euros a month for a 19 years old game.
Still having problems with login.
Stuck on retrieving realm list then disconnect.
World ms is high.
Loading into for example stormwind takes like 15 seconds. Usually its like 1 or 2 seconds.
This is happening all because of maintenance on wednesday.
Billion dollar company btw.
The sad thing is: Some people ingame (/5 world on Nek’rosh) for instance are supporting a “no appeal”-situation with these deaths because of the massive lags since wednesday.
So Blizzard can put out any message like
“Understandably this isn’t a fate we hoped for any HC character, though we still do not have any plans to resurrect dead characters for this, or indeed any other reason.” < their message on twitter
and get support.
There are already fractions within the playerbase because of these problems. They just have to “wait it out” like everything else …
Kinda angry at this situation. Nobody want’s anything unreasonable, just a fair chance to their character because of a situation out of their control and with no official information on the launcher and ingame (up until now).
Sad to see this state atm.
Edit: 22.09.2023 12:44 - Buddy (lvl 60 rogue) just died on a flightpath. He logged out on tuesday and just logged back in and the message popped up - his corpse is on the mountain between ironforge and menethil. He died during the flight.
Real nice … good going with this situation I have to say.
I died flying over wetlands. I spent all the day fishing without moving because the lag, and when i went to wetlands to change the fishing spot i die during the flight. thats not fair at all. thats not harcore. there was not a simple advice from blizzard for this.
Many people on my guild have die at the same time because they were on gryphon flight. My body is in a unreacheble place. * Theoretically players cant get of the gryphon. im pretty sure Blizzard could do a rollback with conditions.
Level 35 druid
And this is exactly why we needed appeals losing your character because of server lag is so dumb put the server into maintance until you fix the problem no point in playing hardcore if the hardcore part is doding server issues
I am still having problems with lagging. I exited and reentered Stormwind just now. And it took my priest 10 seconds to cast Power Word: Shield on herself.
I hope the lagging gets fixed soon. I took two days of paid vacation from my job just to play this game and this happens.
On Wednesday, I had issues in Duskwood where I couldn’t cast any spells for 20 seconds while surrounded by pygmy spiders and dire wolves.
Luckily the game had ported me on top of the river and above the water surface when the game finally came to its senses which I am certain saved my mage.
Needless to say, no one should be putting their hardcore characters at risk
Then why ist there still no notification/warning in the launcher or ingame to warn people about the current issues.
People are dying left and right without any form of official communication from Blizzard
but for those able to safely log in and check, how are things looking at the moment?
Its still the same since the update 2 days ago
-
Lagging to a degree, where
- Mobs hit you without even seeing them
- Skills / Items cant be used because they just dont activate after use
- Disconnecting frequently but also not beeing able to directly reenter the game due to loading at login, character, world
-
Character Screen loads take very long
-
Any loading Screen takes ages
-
Gryphons randomly drop people or never finish their flight
Didn’t Blizzard say you can’t die on flight? you where teleported to the next FP because of server issues? So my Lvl 56 Priest just died on flight… (no recovery, no port) it’s a shame for a Billion Dollar Company… i just unsubed… they got enough chances to fix their problems…
My hardcore character (27) died with full hp and not in combat. Some patrol of mobs ran into me while I froze for like 15 seconds. If I die because of my own faults, I go agane. If I die because of a problem caused by Blizzard (and had 2 days to fix), I want to quit Wow. Hope they fix this mess.
“no one should host a MMO where you can die from flying and have no appeal, but for those who work at Blizzard, how are things looking with the servers at the moment?”
This respond I got on Twiter and I did respond to them again with some random guy stating Im entitled as answer to my posts. And that same guy is complaining about lags in other comment.
Like I said: The situation is fully in their favor.
People are flaming other people in worldchat because of these kills, taunts are being thrown around and hypocrits are rampant in the forums …
They just have to keep the radio silence and the players will flame and blame each other.
Result: Nobody wins, BUT Blizzard doesn’t has to use any resources … so … they win?
It is a difficult situation.
The “right” thing would be to man up and admit, that they had problems - it can happen - and fix it (lags, roleback on affected characters, … something).
The “business” can just wait it out and it will loose nothing, because the focus is shifting away from them …
