This thread is for Hardcore Wishlists, Things you wish to see in the upcoming hardcore servers.

Here is my wishlist;
1: In Memoriam - Upon Death a text file is created much like a ChatGPT response recounting facts and stories about your character. Your name, your race, your chosen starting zone, your party, the adventures you took, the zones completed the people saved, the enemies slain and finally, the enemy who managed to fell you. This gives us a means to share a story of our characters here, reddit, wherever. We can compare the tales of our characters, the flavour text from the race / class perspective.

2: Church and State - PvE servers, PvP servers and RP servers. No cross-over RP-PVP etc, just 1 of each kind. If you roll on the PvP server and are killed due to PvP? Tough, you opted in for it.

3: Dedicated Teams / Community Management - Not only is the desire a dedicated team for the Hard Core experience, but community management could also be part of it. Much like a game like DOTA 2 has the community watch replays, you could have community members in good standing look over an event similarly to a GM and give the player perspective.

4: Finality - I don’t just mean permadeath and deleted by blizzard, I mean the character name cannot be re-taken during a season. Meaning you can’t just start again with the same name and class/race combo as if nothing happened. No, Shifthappens the Druid is dead, he isn’t coming back, make a new character with a new name.

5: Retail - Retail Hardcore. A single server for this endeavour. However, with the caveat that all classes start at 1. So no allied races at 10, no demon hunter at 8, no evoker at 58. All start at 1. With PvP being opt-in for retail, same as before. If you are PvP enabled and die to a 5 man squad? Tough, you chose this. Also, No heirlooms.

6: Loot / Trading: To stop any and all exploitable loopholes all loot is personal loot and trading would be disabled except for conjured items. This way anything you have you either made it or earned it.

7: New Lore - Given the nature of Hard Core and it’s permanent death systems, remove all spirit healers and have priests, warlocks, shaman and paladins all make note through flavour text / NPCs that the spirit healers are gone. You could also use Kyrian to usher you out of Azeroth into the shadowlands. If at all possible a little cinematic of your character being taken would be really nice. Could even meet the Arbiter before her breakdown and replacement. Part of the text dump could be that your soul, now ushered from Azeroth into the Shadowlands ended up in the realm of Covenant

The other thing is there is hardcore and there is hardcore hardcore, you want the latter.

The only rule Blizzard have confirmed for it is you have only one life but can come back as a ghost, probably so you can use the mail.

  1. You died, you cannot rez. Can log in as ghost.
  2. One char and one char only. You die and you’re a ghost, you will need to delete your ghost char in order to make new one.
  3. AH available from start, but anything you put on sale there is a predefined price (2x or 3x the money you’d get from selling to vendor).
  4. Mailbox only to receive mail (from AH) not to send.
  5. Trade disabled.
  6. Can team with ±3 lvl
