Has anyone got the old Scarlet Monastery key from the Headless Horseman yet?

Hello everyone.

Today I learned that the Headless Horseman event drops a key :old_key: that gives access to a quest that unlocks the Old 4 wings of Scarlet Monastery, that got removed during MoP.
There’s still Transmoggs, I want from there, like the Shield that drops there.

Has anyone got lucky yet ?

Got it on my very first kill on an alt.

If you’re unlucky it’s buyable off the AH, just wait till more are thrown up there for prices to drop.

Yup, it dropped on the second character I did on the first day. Had a smile when I went back in the old Scarlet Monastery.

My wife had the key drop today.

More old content back! It really makes me happy when they do!

I did it once on hard mode and got the dragon customization and the key.
Need to do it again for the pet though.

I did on my paladin :smiley: i don’t know what to do with it and if there is no greated reward it’s gonna sit in my bag forever

If you take it to the Scarlet Monastery there’s a key chain with a quest marker near the entrance. You simply hand it in there and from that point on, whenever you use the keychain at the entrance you get a buff that allows you to enter the old (classic) version of the dungeon.

In order to farm the glamour available there, if such piques your interest.

Yeah got it on my first kill. Haven’t run them yet; there’s not really anything I really want. I guess for completionist sake I’ll get the mail armor stuff.

I assume you need to get the key on all characters to get this as I got it on my hunter but not been back to SM yet to hand in, it’s not an acc wide unlock?

not from the horseman but from AH for 150g
from library got doan robe/caster weapon
from cathedral trash i got the boe mail gloves/belt
the boss dropped the scarlet legs for pala and hunter
herod plate head and shoulder i have mail heirlooms with same appearence
(but like the revamped heroic scarlet halls no tabard)

Can someone explain the hype of old monastery ? I went there , farmed , nothing of that big value there anyway

Amazoner, have you done the HM mode? I got my key from that, and from comments from others I got the impression that was the mode they ran as well when they obtained the key.

I did it in normal mode. I wasn’t aware that mode existed.

Edit: Ah :smiley: now I understand, why there were some players, spending some time at the entrance, instead of heading directly towards the boss. Thank you Cylaris :smile:
